DIY Nintendo Switch Pro XL enclosure

- Hi, this video shows you a DIY Nintendo Switch Pro XL. It is an enclosure for the Nintendo Switch to turn it into a Nintendo Switch Pro XL. When you dock it into the enclosure it allows you to play on a 1080p 10 inch screen which looks beautiful. The controller is also a lot bigger than the Switch Joy-Con so it allows your whole hand to grip it which feels quite comfortable when using it even though it weighs in at a little over 1.5KG.
The total price to make the device is approx. £160 so around $200.
It would be ideal if you want to play your Switch on a bigger 1080p screen rather than the 720p screen but still want it handheld and don't want to use a TV.

instead of having to connect a cable when doing it, it just seems more professional sliding into that back. It looks way cleaner now and gets better each time!

Really cool, only addition you could do is add small chunks of plastic either side of the switch so its easier to put in.

Make a guide for this please. This is exactly what I've been wanting for my Switch because I have impaired vision and reading games in portable mode is painful for me... Or maybe if you make another one I'd be curious how much you'd charge.

not as much a fan of your other ones but this one is really really fucking good. Its clean well made and still sorta portable, only concern would be the switch failling out but im sure that the top if needed could have a flap held with velcro or something on the top to prevent it falling out. Really good stuff dude.

Really interesting. Personally I feel the switch has a perfect screen already. Not too small and not too big.
Brilliant build - I've been toying with how to put something like this together myself (I have the Linx controller - which I was planning to dismantle, the dock and the battery, been debating about what screen make and size to get)

This is really cool! I think what could be even better is if you could dock a phone into this instead of a switch, that way you can play mobile games on a big 1080p screen. Imagine playing the mobile version of fortnite on this, it would be amazing!

I wasn't a fan of your initial model, but THIS is freaking awesome! I may end up doing this myself! The only sucky thing is not having the motion controls anymore without the Joycons but it's still damn cool! Is this the exact same monitor you used in your original build in your other vid? What's the make/model of the battery pack you're using?

Imagine the most powerful 13.4" gaming laptop/tablet (Windows 11) with a 4k touchscreen to play portable and it would be even less than 1.5 kg.
Btw. you can also rest it on a pillow while playing handheld.

Great video Vince! I'm using the same power bank and screen as what you used in the video but my the screen keeps flickering. what exact usb power cable are you using? i'm thinking the screen isn't getting enough power.

To me this is only useful to activate the full power of the switch gpu since it will be in docked mode but the problem is unless you have a third party dock that works, don't use a dock that might damage the switch since update 5.0.
The controller looks similar to the tablet attempt by razer with the razor edge tablet and controller attachment.

Did you have a chance to pair them with PS / PC wirelessly? Maybe there is some kind of dongle for that? Didn't found it by myself
it would be cool if you could modify it so that you can also mount the joycons on the sides for people who want to use the joycons instead of the linx vision controllers, but other than that, this looks pretty cool.

I might buy something like this if it was available. One of my gripes with the portable mode is that the screen is so small I miss seeing all of the details (maybe my eyes are just getting old). What I'd really love would be a headset to strap the screen right in front of my eyes kind of like an Oculus. I've seen some mockups of this concept and I wish it was real.
Oh, and what sort of glue/epoxy did you use to attach the controllers to the back of the TV?
Ive been thinking since i commented a few days ago... looking around inside the monitor with the battery pack i wonder if you could take apart the battery and reorganize the batteries inside the monitor to be able to have more juice pumping into it to give it a longer battery life ..

Hi Vince, I am one of your avid subscribers especially about the Nintendo Switch and Ps4 pro. I just want to ask hows the Fast Snail dock doesn't affect your Switch?
Hi, I don't know. It might be just luck but I have had no problems with it. I only ever use either the proper AC power supply from the Nintendo Switch or a 5V outlet from a powerbank. I think a lot of people had problems with 3rd party power supplies outputting 15 volts. I am however prepared for it to damage the Switch so if it does brick it then I won't be surprised although I will be upset :-)
What would you think about a switch tablet with a 360 degree hinge, you can make it quick big and bulky so you can store 10 hours of battery life for the switch and the monitor. If you make it just small enough so it fits on your lap, or a table, then it's big enough for local multiplayer on a television
If you made the hands on the side movable you can use them as a stand
It would also be cool if you could get the controllers working with the playstation tv and then you could change it out for the switch at will but it would need whatever controller adapter to convert x360 to pstv as well as an hdmi splitter so as to not take away from the switch dock.
