Hello, Dr. Ibreez. Thank you for your channel. Does UK accept applicants for foundation programme and core training from Russian? And Is it possible to enter into UKFP without a gap year, if in my medical school graduation usually is July?
Yes they do. You would need to meet the criteria beforehand to avoid the gap, but that would be impossible in your situation as you'd need to clear UKMLA. The year in between would allow you to do so.
Hi Ibreez! Can I as IMG (without intership at all) go straight to UK to spend 1 yr to complete Plab1 , SJT and Plab2 (Full Time) after which I will only start on FY1 and FY2?
The question would be on how you'd stay in the UK for that time.

My internship would normally be 12 months long, but my government decided to shorten it to 10-11 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Have you heard if the GMC considers such internships as acceptable for full registration?
Otherwise I guess I will take the UKFP route and do internship again.

Hello Dr Ibreez! Your video is extremely helpful. I am an IMG from Pakistan and I graduated in Feb 2023. One of the requirements for Eligibility Application is the Provisional registration of GMC. The eligibility application window is 6/7/23-29/7/23. Do I need to do my plabs before this date?

SJT is only for UKFP and the standalone program.

No. UKFP is only valid if you have not completed an acceptable pattern of internship.

Yes. You just don't need to keep PLAB in your timeline.
Can we only do one year from the 2 years of UKFP to get full registration?
Bcz i want to end up in Australia(competent authority pathway) in that i only have to take PLAB exams and work one year in the uk

If you meet the acceptable pattern of internship criteria set out by GMC, you can complete your internship anywhere.
I have few questions apu. And it will be very kind of you if you clear out my confusion please.
1) is ukfp the only option to do fy1? Or after completing plab 1 n plab 2 we can search for fy1? Or do we only have to go through the process which you described here ?
2) is it possible to complete plab 1 n plab 2 and then go back to home country and do one year internship?
3) I graduated last year from Ukraine and took admission in PG in here and preparing for my Plab 1 alongside. I didn’t do internship yet.so what process map will be better for me you think?
If you have already completed an acceptable pattern of internship back home, you are not eligible for UKFP. You could apply for non training FY1 jobs, but they would not be via UKFP.

No but you'll need to explain the gap to GMC.

Foundation years are not compulsory. You can either enter a non training CT1 or training CT1. Training CT1 posts require CREST and competencies.

Your overall rank will be low which will affect job offers based on your preferences. The person whose overall rank is high gets their top preferred job offer.

If you plan for it, there's no reason it wouldn't be possible.

The rank is what allows you to get the preference you want as you've chosen it.

Due to the pandemic, I have been stuck in another country and have had to do my last 3 semesters of MBBS through online classes. Will this be a problem anywhere along the process of getting a GMC registration?
If your college is providing you with full graduation and your college is listed with WDOMS, then it should not be a problem.
Your PMQ will get primary source verified by EPIC in the process of GMC registration anyway.

Do IMGs need to take the SJT if they’re applying for FY2 after GMC registration via the PLAB route?
SJT is necessary to get into any UKFP training post- training FY1 of FY2 standalone. For non-training FY2 level jobs there is no SJT. Only application and interview.
@@RoadToUK what of ranking? Do IMG wanting to join a NON-training job still have to rank? Since they don't have to write the SJT? What route do they take instead? Considering they've done an acceptable pattern of internship
@@midastouch2879 for non training jobs, you apply for a specific job advertisement and if yiu get called you get an interview. Most IMGs keep applying for jobs in the jobs site until they find one.

Being an IMG, graduated in 2021 , no internship done yet, can I start the UKFPO process, and simultaneously an internship outside UK, by the time I get accepted into UKFP next year, I would have my Internship done ....in this case, where I should begin, FY2 ??
If you get an acceptable pattern of internship elsewhere, that means you are eligible to apply for Full GMC registration. Which makes you ineligible to start UKFP.

What if we have prior internship experience of a few months in our home country? Does that make one ineligible for the UKFP? If so, how will they know if we don’t provide any proof of the internship, since the window is long for UKFP.
You need to mention in your UKFP application what you've been doing.

In home country we can save that year do the house job and clear the plabs in between and enter at Fy2 level

If you can join UKFP, the weight of gaining your foundation competencies is also upon the trainers because you are in a structured training.
But joining independently as a non-trainee doctor, that weight of getting your equivalence signed off (CREST) is completely your headache. (Many IMGs gets it done and we have a FREE course guiding this path as well)
And without this equivalence certificate signed off you can't apply in any higher specialty or GP training.
So, at the end of the day- it's your call. If you complete a GMC approved internship back home- you can't join UKFP.
