    Please help, is it allowed for IMGs to spend part of their 12-months internship in the UK ?
    My medical school permits spending up to 4 months in an outside rotation anywhere abroad, with the remaining months at my home country

    Hi. How does one transition from non-training FY2 to training for a specialty? Will there be a conflict when one starts their non-training job? Like, if for example if I start a non-training job Feb 2023 and want to train in 2024. How will I transition when the non training job ends after Feb 2024?

    Thank you for sharing this information 😊, I will complete my intership in my country, and pass the plab 1 and plab 2, i hear doctors talking about that joining a foundation program increase the approtointy to be accepted in the training progams, Is that true? , if I start in the UK as non tranning as CT1 ,and sign the CREST form from my clinical supervisor in the UK not from my country, the benefit to starting trainning program will increase?

    Thank you Ibreez, If one was still not sure of what he wants to specialise in even after the first year of internship at home.. would an FY2 rotation through surgery and medicine in UK help clear things up? And such a rotation Available ?

    Im an IMG graduate and I am currently pursuing radiology for 6 months i know that I should bot exceed 18 months training in radiology in my home country or else I would not be able to apply for ST1 training but I wanted to ask if I have not exceeded the 18 months and I do my PLAB exams is there a chance i would be able to have full gmc registration and start FY2?

    So, I just find out that after 2024 there will be a new exam for IMGs to present, and its called the MLA "The Medical Licensing Assessment". Could you give us some information about that? thank you Dr Ibreez A! love you

    Hi Dr. Ibreez! First of all thankyou for all this information... at @3:50 you mention something about internship in the UK, so I want to apply for the FY1and with this I can choose a non training job (since it’s available all year round) as long as I get a senior Doctor in the Uk to sign my crest form then I can move to fy2?

    Hi Dr. Ibreez, thank you for that video. It was really helpful. I'm a doctor from India aspiring to work in the UK under the NHS. My goal is to be an Internal Medicine Trainee as well. I wanted to know, when we do apply for FY2 jobs and once we're selected, do they give us an orientation on what our duties are for that level and also, do we report to the clinical supervisor for our academic/training related queries and progress?

    Could you please tell me how you started off in a non training ct 1 post and not a non training fy2 post. Also, did you not need competencies or portfolio for getting into CT ? I'm a little confused. Please let me know or direct me to a video which entails those details maybe? Thank you!

    Hello Dr Ibreez. Very imformative video.
    I hope you could kindly can assist me.
    I am am an F2 doctor working in the UK. I am from Malaysia. My contract expires on Aug 6th 2024. I recently got an offer as a clinical assistant at another nhs trust starting in Sept 7th 2024. My visa expires on Aug 15.
    So there is a 3 week gap between the expiry and the new start date.
    Will Homeoffice issue me with a visa with a start date from the date of expiry Aug 15th? Or will i have to go back to my home country to reapply for a new visa.
    Also if i were to apply for a new visa in the UK, do i have to travel to the vfs office in the London, UK to submit my biometric data?

      If you have completed an acceptable pattern of internship outside the UK, you would not be eligible for internship in the UK. You can, however, consider an FY2 standalone.

      Walaikum assalaam. Vaccination against TB is not mandatory. You may or may not have to undergo testing to determine if you have TB.

    If you already have an acceptable 12 month internship from your home country (so you can't apply for FY1), can you still apply for FY-1 level non-training jobs? or you're only able to apply for FY-2 level jobs (whether its standalone or non-training)?

      As a non trainee? No, it was for one year. Then we applied for a training grade CT1, which rotated to CT2.

    Thank you for this video! I've actually applied for UKFP and got into North Wales for FY1. I'm grateful for landing the opportunity but also disappointed since I was aiming for South Wales, especially Cardiff. The North is lovely but rural and isloated, with some limitations in terms of career development or so I was told. As Wales practices unpaired Foundation jobs, could you advise on how can I increase my chances to secure an F2 job in Cardiff once I complete my F1? I'm not sure how it works or how to prepare for it :(

    Do we need to complete post- graduation internship in order to get enrolled in fy2 directly as IMG ? Or pre graduation internship from respective college is acceptable in uk to get into fy2 directly?
    And can u plz clarify about MRCS , Is it mandatory to pass mrcs before going in run through program for surgery ? Or we can directly get into run through program after fy2 ?

    In EU where the medical degree is 6 years, does the 6th year count as an internship or it must be done after the uni?

      the 6th year is counted as an internship year. so you would be given full registration back in the uk by the gmc

      @@jahangirkhan8489 yes because I am from the UK but study in Bulgaria which is in Europe. And for the 6th year, we have to do an internship year. Most MD schools in Europe have this.

    Hello, I am graduating from Poland(EU) this year (2022) and I would like to apply to FY1(2023) , so I will have a gap of one year between graduating and starting FY1. Will the UKFPO ask me what have I done during this 1 year gap or that applies only to 2 year+ gaps ?
    Also, if I did one year of internship (outside of EU) , will I still be eligible for FY1 or taking a gap year would be a safer option? (given that I want FY1 and not FY2)

      @@theorangecandle Yes infact! when you fill in the application for UKFP, gmc only want to know if you would be working or be engaging in activities that would make you eligible for a full registration with the GMC, it is not to scrutinize you in any way. So you could either write , no plans , study leave , volunteering , clincial observation...etc etc and if you were to do an internship just make sure it does NOT fulfill the GMC criteria in order to be eligible for UKFP since you do not want to be overqualified.
