His most successful season of his career, was at Everton. Yet he doesn't pick a single Everton player. And Gary has said many times, That 80's Everton team was the best side he ever played for ! Go figure.

Nice video, I enjoy watching Lineker's videos (I find him very honest). I do agree with John Barnes and Alan Shearer. Personally I would have John Charles and Gary Lineker in my team along with Jimmy Bullard and Robbie Savage (shame Robbie's Welsh), Jimmy and Robbie would be a right laugh at the bar after a few cans of Special Brew!!

Strange he's said Everton was the best club side he ever played for but he's not picked any of his then team-mates, didn't even mention one a possible. I'd have Trevor Steven ahead of Waddle all day long for example.
Compliment really though in a way; it was the team that was great as a unit rather than a collection of individuals.

I have to be honest..I never really saw the best of Brian Robson (pre injuries) as when i was getting into football his career was nearly at an end but from what i've seen i can tell he was a big game player ..and doesn't he still hold the record for fastest goal scored at a WC finals?

Taylor wasn't great for England granted but it was a transitional period..Gazza was injured most that time..So was Barnes and Robson, Butcher and Shilton was finished, Lineker finished, Pearce, Beardsley and Waddle aging. He only really had Platt from that italia 90 side

Never realised 1980s England used to field the black players Linekar has named (and good on him) - it's a shame SkySports, BBC, and others never called them back when Black Lives Matter and racism in general became the central topic of discussion. It would be very interesting to hear about their experiences and their thoughts on how the game has progressed with regards to these issues. And above any of that, just wish these players were remembered more as footballers - if not as league footballers then certainly as servants for England (clearly very good players if good enough to get into Linekar's XI!)
