He himself even remarked upon being presented the red book, “I haven’t lived a life yet!”-but then again, there was a 17 year old kid featured in the programme in the 1960’s.
I remember watching more and more of these and seeing the featured guests becoming younger and younger. Started to think they were going to be giving the red book to newborns within a few years. Felt a bit sorry for Michael Aspel telling some young person that their life was nearly over. The only exception I can think of is Richard Beckinsale….and so I guess I have answered your imminent responses. Loved the show though. Was always so nice to see people we liked/loved being appreciated and shown love by their closest friends and family.
I noticed when i was a kid that when viewing figures lagged they wheeled up a soap star or when they did Q from Bond & just blatted the episode with bond clips for free advertising
I've been looking for this episode for ages lol. As weird as it may seem to give the red book to a 21 year old, Hendry's show was the highest rated in the series
Higgins despised Hendry. He hated the fact Hendry had him easily beat in every aspect of the game. Several of the big name players of the 80's and 90's hated Hendry because of his talent. Most of them grew to respect and eventually (in most cases) became friends with Steven....Higgins not being one of them. :/
Good Lord I thought this was a parody, or some sort of comedy skit. At 2:40 when a bemused Hendry pipes up "I'm only 21", I don't think I've laughed so hard in ages. Aspel must've wished the ground would swallow him up. The fact that it's real makes it funnier
"born on January 13th 1969 - last week to some of us" 😂. Every generation the cycle continues. Those born in 1969 will probably say the same about 20 somethings today lol
I couldn't remember Hendry being on This is your life in 1990 but I think it's as daft as Stephen did! 😂 .. They must've bn struggling for episodes at that time askin a 21yr old!! Lol
Well, I have heard about this ep for a few years, and now Iv'e watched it, I wish I hadent. Ridiculous at 21 to be getting the Red book passed to him, and what a boring episode...Funny though. No Steve Davis. Now they are good pals, but years later, Steve D said he hated Hendry due to him taking his mantle.
When you dominate a sport for so long, when you ruled the world in that sport for so long, wouldnt it be a bit like "who the hell is this guy, what makes him so special, how dare he try and take my no1 spot!!! Of course it would, didnt stephen and Ronnie fall out too, Ronnie was outspoken Stephen just shut him up on the table, but now years later Ronnie is the dominant one.
@@PaulAinsworth-nv4my Not all players in sport feel like that, as some relish the competician I think. Thing with S H and R O S falling out was to do with R O S saying he would smash hendy about in a snooker way, and he appologised to S H a few months later, as they didnt speak for that long, and told him that it was a boxer pal, possibly Has Hammad at the time, who reved him up to sort of use Boxing speak/banter in the papers, but since they made up, they have been fine since, and hendry was happy to admit that Ronnie was the best to ever play the game.
@@gaskellr44 I recall at uk and or worlds, ronnie told in interview he was gonna send Hendry packing all the way back to Scotland, when they met in tournament, the result was Ronnie was sent packing, and the rivalry got fiery, yes they have masses of respect for each other and their game etc, but that rivalry always came out, ronnie was the new kid and Hendry was the dominant no1 at the time.
@@PaulAinsworth-nv4my I think H would have won at least 10 worlds if he hadn't got the terrible yips he developed around early 2000s. Although R O S was unbelievably tallented, as was Hendry in a different way, Hendy could actually kill players on the baise, when he was fully fit.
@@gaskellr44 Agree, Hendry could have gone onto do better than 7, it's good that ronnie is as talented as he is, the rivalry would have been immense. In saying that, flashy Trump snooker is all very well but his WC crowns are none existent after his first.

This Is Your Life. “I’m only 21!” 😂😂😂
Stephen Hendry was featured in 1990? That's a surprise considering how young he was and how much he had yet to win as the decade progressed.
He's only a year older than me! I would have been just twenty, for goodness sake!
Now would be a good time to give Hendry the red book. Now that he has lived a life and achieved so much since the original recording. Bonkers
He himself even remarked upon being presented the red book, “I haven’t lived a life yet!”-but then again, there was a 17 year old kid featured in the programme in the 1960’s.
Stephen Hendry is the greatest player ever to pick up a cue
I wouldnt argue with that not wouldn't argue if someone said Ronnie.
Even Stephen doesn't agree with that. Ronnie has surpassed him as a player.
Ronnie is a far different breed, rare you get one so naturally gifted.
Thank you for the upload of This is your life please keep them coming.
A nice wee tribute that I remember well. Great stuff!

Watching this back If This is Your life was bought back today Luke Littler and Jude Bellingham would probably be featured lol.
some timeless legends in there ted lowe and alex higgins and ian doyle.
In 1990 his best mate was STEPHEN LEE
Have you got any more episodes of This is your life.
Please.

Alex Higgins was really very articulate and well spoken. Such a gentleman and so honourable when sober. Where was Steve Davis ?

How random to have Stephen on at that age.

The WONDERBAIRN GOAT SAY NO MORE
Mandy was a munter. Well done Steven for taking your balls elsewhere
She literally said a youtube video in 1990 at 17:20
She said U2 lol?
Had no idea he was on it that young. Definitely seems to be against the spirit of the show which I remember being about lifetime achievements.
He was about 15 then 😂
21

You need to get out more!

What absolute nonsense! A child on This is your Life??
I’m only 21….but still a prick!!!
He walked out on his family affair this. Shame.
Too bad Hendry walked out on Mandy and his kids for a young lady who looked kinda like his wife, not a nice man very selfish.
He had to walk out on her Alan Mandy was a Tart 😂😂😂😂 👍
You know nothing
Maybe she was doing something she shouldn't of been doing.
Spot on couldn’t put it any better mate
