African food is so good… it’s underrated and more people need to get into it. The flavors, the spice… they actually make their food spicy and not toned down. It’s straight up 🔥
It's hard to "get into" food that needs to be home cooked by your friend's mama or a super specific restaurant. Hard to find those super niche cuisines!
I'm from Nigeria and I'm glad you're enjoying the food. And someone in the comment section said jollof was Senegalese lol,who cares 😂. Doesn't matter who came up with it cause every African country that cooks jollof rice has a completely different method and flavor palette.
Wolof jollof rice isn’t even called jollof to begin with its (thieboudienne) what we see today as jollof came from Nigeria because of yorubas also migrating around west Africa especially Gambia and Sierra Leone as well so we have some influence because they also eat acara there to as we do in Yoruba culture in Nigeria.
i wanna try african food, as an american i spent half a year in canada for work and fell in love with indian food... a coworker of mine on a particular jobsite was from senegal.... he swore african food was amazing... id love to try it
In some parts of West Africa we believe if you eat jollof with stew, you have trust issues. Uncle boo do you have trust issues 😅😅😅😅😅. Or it's the fault of who ever serve you the food
As a part west Indian I have been eating food like this since i as a kid. My palette is marinated with these flavors lol. I suck I making the food so every time I visit my pops I raid the fridge for leftovers
All the senegalese in the comments being disrespectful to Nigerians please stop being jealous. Most of the world dont know senegal exist. You guys prepare your jollof entirely different from Nigeria and Ghana jollof. You guys may have originated it but Nigeria popularized it along with Ghana. With the Nigerian VS Ghana jollof trend. So go sip a cup of bitter coffee 😂.
