    I find the margin of error grows exponentially with rafter length, using this method. On that very square are hypotenuse numbers per foot of run with all common roof pitches. Way easier! Love your videos

    Dont you have 2 take off more then 3/4 if the slope rises above a 4?

      To account for the kiln dried 2x10 Kiln dried lumber ridge piece? No. If you are using standard K.D. framing lumber, you always only take half of the thickness of the ridge piece, which in the case of regular 2" K.D. lumber which is 1 1/2" thick, half of that would be 3/4". The pitch of the roof does not affect that. Hope that answers what you were asking about.

      It could be a hanger or type of hardware that the rafter sits into. This is not a term that was used by most of the people I worked with.
