- It’s time for the moment you’ve all been waiting for! It’s time for Edd to go through the Classic Caverns!

It’s been a long journey- longer than I would have liked- but Classic Mode is finally finished and now, after I take a break, I can move on to even more things for Beatdown’s future! Thank you guys so much for your kindness, your support, and your patience. Things have been crazy- clearly- and I’m just glad that I’m at the finish line with all of you still here with me. Here’s to more videos in the future!

This is literally the *best* piece of Lawl media from anyone I have ever seen so far! Well worth the wait! Super unexpected to come out *this* early too! And that freaking new logo and opening sequence is just, AWW! I love it so much! More reasons as to why Beatdown is my absolute favorite Lawl spinoff! In all seriousness, this might be the closest thing I've ever seen to real Super Smash Bros. Lawl gameplay.

This Classic Mode video was SO GOOD HOLY SHIT. Pretty much everything I liked, from the biggest additions to the smallest details. The video could have just been a series of 1v1 matches culminating in one final round against Edd's rival (really good addition there, by the way!), but you really put all of your effort into making it as game-like as you could. The new visual effects, the realistic combos (Edd pushing Umbridge towards the edge while she was stunned made me laugh), the menus, the cave aesthetic, the ending featuring all of the opponents and where are they now and, holy shit, that Intro is so well done as well, and I love how it has silhouettes teasing future characters (and I recognised a lot of them hehehe). It's exactly the kind of cinematic I love to see before booting up a game!
And of course, I cannot begin to praise the new additions to the lineup! Blockhead is one I am not particularly familiar with but his airheaded personality coupled with his flash artstyle makes him the perfect rival to Edd, and seeing Dio in action after so much build up in lore videos was incredibly hype (specially how you can see his portrait bleeding after being KO'd like in the Jojo fighting games, I loved that). And the new bosses, holy shit. Zanta was a really fitting choice and I liked the idea of him constantly jumping on and off the sleigh, but BUTCH HARTMAN WAS SO HILARIOUS TO SEE. Specially his attack where he turns Edd into one of his piss-lighting drawings (I hope we get to see all of his art of all of the characters, that'd be fantastic).
For real dude, this video exceeded my expectations through the roof and it was so worth the wait. I am excited for that extra video you commented at the end!

This Classic Mode showcases everything great about Beatdown, from the interactions between characters to the spectacular animation! I do like how most of the characters fought in Edd's Classic Mode have the connection of well-known internet animations as their main rivalry, plus there was also the surprise of Blockhead being a new character on the roster. I also liked how the DIO fight played out, and the unexpected addition of Butch Hartman as a boss (complete with an Oaxis themed stage) was pretty creative with him using different aspects from the shows he created to help fight (ex: the Box Ghost from Danny Phantom).
On top of that, the ending section of the video set to the SSB Ultimate intro music was beautifully made, and was the perfect way to cap off a milestone in Beatdown's saga.
Congratulations for completing this great video, you've earned a well-deserved break after months of editing and preparing this!
This is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time. Not a Classic Mode for a Lawl Beatdown character specifically, but a Lawl video where the character it’s centered on has their series, their legacy, represented gloriously. It’s not %100 perfect, but holy crap the passion put into this project is clearly immense and outweighs said imperfections. Again, I really want to do a video project like this, but the fear of failure both in representing the source and presenting a low grade product keeps me back. I think people look up a lot to this Lawl, cause it genuinely feels the creator is putting their all into it. You gave this video the time it needed, and I’m certain you worked feverishly so everything played out as intended.
The largest source of praise goes towards Edd himself. The way he maneuvers around the battlefield, and the many different eras of Eddsworld being well represented across his moveset are all greatly animated. Been watching Eddsworld a good deal lately, and it’s so gratifying to be able to spot where the attacks are taken from, or modified to make something more needed like the move with the cleavers. The move with the wind up punch looks like it was taken right out of not the episode it came from, but from the world itself. Audio cues such as when Tom is selected as your partner and the follow up Strife! were crazy well edited too.
It’s not just Edd either who really looks like a lotta fun to play. From how charismatically weasly Dan Backslide moves around, to Mama Umbridge and how she dominates ground combat but kinda gimps in the air, to Markiplier with how stupidly well edited his sprites are to maintain consistency (also dat back throw, very spammable). It’s nuts how organically everyone plays out too. Like with Frisk using their attacks to move down the stairway, Gary getting KO’d by Pokemon as a fun knock to his ego, to The Cheat trying to be helpful by getting Edd’s gallon, ooooonly for that to backfire. Edd himself has a lot of close encounter losses at the end of each match, something I can really appreciate as it shows how much Lawl’s come in recreating that Smash Bros feel.
Then there’s the revealed newcomers. … Honestly Blockhead is someone I wouldn’t initially feel that much hype for, but well crap man you nailed it on not only selling but representing this guy. There’s just a weird, smooth, slimy feel to the way he moves in his attacks, that gives me real early Newgrounds vibes, almost like… honestly a bit like how I’d imagine Salad Fingers would move in a Lawl as solidly animated as this one. Then there’s his Conscience. Listen you get a man who’s just done with life like Carl from ATHF as what seems like the character’s mechanic and I’mma instantly hooked.
Then there’s Dio… This is someone I’ve wanted revealed in Beatdown for so long, and I’m so freaking happy he fights how Dio would in the anime, and not how Dio would in a fighting game. As in like, you didn’t just lift moves and sprites from the Capcom fighter : P (The losing reaction behind his knockout sprite was a topnotch touch). Aaaand admittedly it was a personal treat to see Edd knock the daylights outta him in a post Dio vs Alucard World.
The rest of this offered so much Eddsworld tributing goodness too. With the Zanta battle, Eduardo rival battle, and Edd’s ending where he got exactly what he wanted all being such fun, loving nods to this series. Then there’s all the other smaller touches like the tunes playing for Edds end (which, yeah it sucks you couldn’t use Money, but honestly really like the mario cover. It’s cute, quirky and still fits the mood), and all the comics scrolling through the background. It doesn’t echo a personal nostalgia, but that nostalgic rush is still very clearly there.
I and I’m sure so many people can agree, this Classic Mode, this video, is loved as both a product of its own, and as a product inspired by Eddsworld. From what that, FREAKING AWESOME, opening cutscene showed off it seems Beatdown is far from done. Hopefully we can all stay with you on the ride, as you can very hopefully continue doing what you love for this series. Thank you for not giving up, for not letting fear and doubt keep you back, and for letting Lawl Beatdown grow better and better as a Lawl series and as a series of its own.
Also thank you for that hilarious fight with The Butch. The creativity and chaotic energy in that fight was an enormously fun, funny experience.
I don't know why, but it's so funny to see "Lunatic" while seeing a clip of Edd slowly smiling.
This had me over the moon. The editing was tons better than ever before, the little touches such as the end battle quotes, character moments, the where are they now moment, all fantastic and really made the whole thing infinitely superior. The boss where a lovely surprise and had me amazed by the choices, and it was so cool finally getting a look at Dio after all this time.
The Ultimate intro thing at the end had me grinning like the Cheshire cat, this project has gone so far and I am so happy that I have gotten to be here to experience it. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for doing this, I hope you have a lovely day, and keep up the fantastic work.

shadbad...this..this left me utterally speechless. every single frame is a masterpeice, i cn really tell just how much time went into this and it more than payed off, from the moving camera, to all the new normals shown off,and even saying how good thoes are doesn't do it justice (even small details like how ed yells "dash" when he dashes). dare i say it, THIS is you magnomopas right here!
the near ending bits are what got me the most though with Edds rival being announced (even if i don't know who he is) and &#*@INF DIO ANNOUNCED AS PLAYABLE!! I couldn't be any happier to see him in as a jojo fan!! probably the the fighter i'm the 2nd most hyped for out of all the undone ones. (plus the two bosses, god danm thoes were just pure gold with Butch and Zanta who fits right in as a boss comared to a fighter!) but best of all....that intro...that was...that was just so beautiful..my jaw dropped at it. i loved every last second of it, nothing can repeliate the joy i felt watching this whole video, there's no need to thank us shadbad..thank YOU for not only inspiring so many lawlers,leaving an impact on this community,but most important of all, bringing us amazing work that has nothing but love and passion put into it. it's been an amazning 5 years.

Animation is improved, I love your take on the Classic Mode formula, the bosses were fantastic, the fights were so smooth and fun to watch, the characters introduced were a joy to see, the blurbs at the end for the fighters were a joy to read through, I love your original sprites, and I'm happy that Matt was confirmed to have a Just A Bit Crazy move to round out the Eddsworld cast. I absolutely cannot wait to see what Beatdown has in store next, even those superlative videos.
I honestly haven't watched any Lawl videos in a while, so this coming out was quite a surprise! Especially when it's earlier than expected! Spoilers for those who haven't watched this video yet, though.
- I just love Edd's classic mode in general... it's taken a good while for you to make this, and it turned out really great!
- I love Edd's puns in some of his classic mode quotes! (He has a very linguistic edd-ucation!)
- Seeing Butch Hartman as a miniboss made me freak the heck out. I might have freaked out more than Stephen Quire when I saw that.
- Absolutely love Blockhead's inclusion to Lawl Beatdown as Edd's rival. Nice to see another character from another Flash animated Newgrounds series! I honestly love how he still smiles as he's getting damaged he's just like "Ok bye" when he's KO'ed
- Even though I'm not too much into JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Dio's introduction was pretty great!
- I like Zanta Claus as a boss. I like how he jumps into his sleigh once in a while to attack Edd.
- I really love your ability to copy the Eddsworld artstyle. It's really well done and really looks a lot like Edd's art.
- I like that fight with Eduardo as an unlockable character. It's a pretty nice addition.
- But what I like the most about this video is the Smash Bros intro at the end. It's just so beautiful and I love the amount of effort that you put into it. It's easily the best part of this video to me.
- That sketch at the end is also very nice! You're a pretty amazing artist, and I kind of like it more than my art tbh.
Overall, this was very well done! It's just so nice to see how much Beatdown has changed ever since its first moveset! The fact that every Lawl Beatdown video continues to get better just makes it my favorite Lawl spinoff ever.
From the boss fights, to the ending video. To the details in the credits, to everything in between, this is one of the best Lawl videos I've seen.

Okay, that Butch Hartman Boss was legit the best part of this video. In all seriousness, this video was genuinely amazing. It looks so real, and this, coupled with BeatdownBound makes me kinda wish this was a real game lol. I love how Dio fights, or how you handled Frisk's Playstyles decision at the beginning of the fight. The Animation is amazing and THAT OPENING!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a work of art and makes me crave more, but please take your time. Don't rush yourself. Overall, 10/10 I loved this lmao.

The Classic Mode itself was a heck of a journey for Edd (that Butch Hartman boss battle was a laugh) and that Beatdown opening you showed off was animated incredibly well! Keep up the amazing work as you've proven one of the best Lawl makers there is!

Shad,you have outdone yourself and previous Classic Modes,hoping for a bright future for Lawl Beatdown.
It's been 3 years of hardworking that you've been working through.... and for once, this classic mode of yours are one of my favorite lawl videos of all time.
Ya know, when I was waiting for Edds Classic Mode, I always wondered how it was gonna be, I thought it would be superb, Stellar, or completely amazing, but Now that I’ve seen it for myself, it’s exceeded my expectations and is, better than all those words combined! The pacing Is Perfect, the battles are SUPER well animated, and the new Animation quality is incredible! The new camera movement definitely shows this! Edds interaction with the other characters and Victory quotes are EXACTLY what he would normally say! You voicing as Gary Oak is amazing and on Point, and the presentation of the Menu and Battle choosing is absolutely fantastic! Butch Hartman and Zanta Claws were amazing Suprise Bosses and translate very well into Boss battles! The attacks In Beatdown translate perfectly well into this Classic Mode, and all the small patches to characters that can be seen in the battles are great! ALL of Edds attacks are the best possible choices for Him! As for Blockhead, despite my unfamiliarity with his source still looks and sounds very fun and I’m super hyped for him! Speaking of Super Hyped, I can say the Same to Dio! I’ve been wondering if he would be in this Lawls Gameplay, and he was, and he DEFINITELY didn’t disappoint! The ending and Rival battle with Eduardo were absolutely great and felt like they’re actually part of the Eddsworld Status Quo! The world of Light ending cutscene cinematic was absolutely perfect, and the definition of High Quality! I think this is your Best work Shad, and arguably some of the best of the Lawl Community! Total Masterpiece, and Is one of the Best Videos I have seen from this community. This is an easy example for why the Lawl Community is Amazing. Great Job! This went above and beyond in terms of quality and I love it! I’m VERY excited for what to come for Beatdown! Easy 11/10.
This was seriously cool! I really loved how fluent and realistic these battles were! I especially loved the battles where it felt that it could go either way!
The effort you put into all of this is honestly beautiful! All the attack and movement animations made for this, all the new and well-made stages, and especially the Zanta Claws and Butch Hartman boss! also you scare me a lot shad
Also that Blockhead reveal was amazing! I haven't seem much of it, to be honest, but it seems like a really fitting rival for Edd! On that note, those second-to-last battles were especially great! Even if it did contain a few moveset spoilers, it was still very enjoyable to watch!
Also also, I look how much this looks like a genuine game! The menus, the option to skip cutscenes, fighting Eduardo as an Unlockable, and other nice touches that made it feel realistic!
And the OP? Absolutely GORGEOUS! Those smooth movements and high-energy scenes were amazing, and I think it was worth every second you put into it! also those teasers in case you ever do this again that

The wait was worth it. i have a hard time expressing my thoughts so i’ll just list em down
1. i loved seeing how all the fights were animated and choreographed i guess you can say. i was really at the edge of my seat with some of the fights like Zanta and thats an accomplishment
2. the Butch Hartman miniboss was really funny! didnt expect that. when edd finally defeated him i thought to myself “is he gonna fall down the screen like in Mario?” and sure enough he did. amazing
3. soo excited seeing all the upcoming characters like DIO. that short charge up special with The World was pretty interesting and i hope to see more
4. You really nailed the videogame feel! i liked how you added a “press hold to skip cutscene” text during the classic mode intro that was really cool + choosing which character you can fight really makes me think of the different possibilities (if only this were a real game)
and lil side note i liked how you used John and Karkat’s Pesterquest sprites i just think thats neat

Shad that was the greatest Classic Mode for Edd ever hands down the best I've ever seen and the lore and everything was amazing too I even was surprised on everything from the fights and everything else you did I'm just so surprised on the bosses from Butch Hartman to Zanta Claws and DIO was amazing to I love the references to even the details you did and I love the new Beatdown Logo It's so awesome 💯 and Edd's rival being Blockhead was something too Shad I was surprised by that. I can't wait to see more amazing things coming to Beatdown and what's in store for the Lore of Beatdown +ShadBad88 Awesome Job on Classic Mode as well as everything else and I can't wait what's more to come in Lawl Beatdown 👊
Holy crap! That was an amazing experience! I think I speak for all of us when I say that this was definitely and undoubtedly worth the wait.
I had no idea who Blockhead was at the time of first watching this, but since then, I checked out his source material on CZcams, and I'll say he is pretty funny. I look forward to seeing what you end up doing with him. And I'm DEFINITELY glad to see that DIO is gonna be playable too! Happy Dio Day, everybody!
Also, that intro. Oh mama, that fricking intro! That was just as amazing as the Classic Mode itself! It was nice to see more surprise bosses added in like Cinder (even though I hate her) and Flowey. And let's not forget about the legendary Butch Hartman! :P
And also, I have a feeling those silhouettes with Ruby were other characters from RWBY. I could've sworn the silhouette next to her was Yang. And I could be wrong, but I think the one next to her could be Blake with her short hair. (Although I prefer her with long hair) Couldn't tell if Weiss was among the silhouettes though. Honestly, I really hope it is. We can't have Ruby without the rest of her team. IMO, no one can replace Team RWBY. Besides, you managed to make amazing movesets of all 4 members of the Eddsworld crew, so I don't see why you can't do the same thing with all 4 members of Team RWBY as well. Also... fricking Loki's in this too?! 😮

Daaamn. You took Lawl's classic mode to the next level, man, cause in the original, it was more inspired by Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Mortal Kombat. Skapokon made her own thing to differ from it, but you sir solidified it. I have never seen this video so detailed about everything. I'm honestly unexpected for Butch to show up as a boss before Dio, who speaking of, finally appeared after being just a shadow in the pervious videos. I can't wait for more info about it's minigames and other stuff.

I think i have a new favorite Classic Mode.
The wait was Indeed worth it, because not only do we get to see every battle from start to finish, there is so much content and so much detail put into everything. The animation is more smooth than ever, we get to see the alternative outcomes of the losing participants, every elevator has its own sign, we have a post ending battle with Edduardo, and even the dialogues still feel true to every character. And that new full intro.....is just so beautiful.
I may copy paste what i said on previous Eddsworld movesets but i mean it when i Say it: Edd Gould would be proud. Kudos to You, sir.
I know this not a real game but I think this would be a great fan game it has a wonderful cast of characters and would be so cool to play it
Holy shit. The road was long, but goddamn if it wasn't worth it. This is the best video you've made so far. From the fights, to the bosses, to the game intro. And while I have no idea who Blockhead is, it does make me happy that Dio is a playable character. Here's to more videos like this in the future.

In response to the section of the disclaimer about the potential with the lawl game in the future, it's technically already possible to make Lawl characters a reality via the Rivals of Aether steam workshop, and honestly I'm surprised I haven't seen many Lawl characters on there.

Where do I even start?
The transitions between battles is great; I love how you pick a door to enter.
The pre-battle and post-battle dialogue was wonderful and very charming.
I love that we get to see actual “game”play happening!
That part in the middle where you get to choose a minigame is brilliant-and I did NOT expect Butch Hartman as a boss.
The final battle where he fought Blockhead, DIO, and Zanta was frickin’ great.
And I was personally filled with absolute delight when you used Pump It for the fight against the Thwomps.
Plus, that ending cinematic for the route. Loved it.
Plus plus, Eduardo coming in by surprise after the end. Loved that too.
Plus plus plus, that OPENING cinematic at the end of the video. Absolutely divine.
Incredible video all around, and I’m super-excited for what’s to come.

Damn, this thing animated like a well oiled machine. Words cannot describe how welldone this was. This might actually be one of the greatest pieces of Lawl Media I've seen thus far. Watching this reminded me of why I love Lawl in the first place and why I still hold this community close to my heart. Seriously, the bosses, the animation, everything about this is so good. The sequence at the end was the just the cherry on top and makes me so excited for what's to come for this lawl.

Also one thing I've been stuck thinking about since Darkiplier's reveal is Mark's Final Smash and one of his taunts being related to Darkiplier. I don't know if this sounds like a dumb question but would it make sense to change them now since Darkiplier has his own moveset now? Sorry if this came out hateful I mean no harm ❤

I’ve been trying to think of a good replacement final smash for Mark since the old dark one doesn’t fit anymore with Darkiplier as his own fighter- the taunt did get an update in the stage supplements video!
@@ShadBad8 Perhaps his replacement final smash could be something to do with Wilford Warfstache? The stage he was on was cut so this could be a good way to still have him shoot at opponents like in the old stage he was on. I dunno, just an idea.
