Super Mario, a hero by many hats, has captured the hearts of millions. But this one seems a little...denser than the rest. As SMG4's best friend and main star, Stupid Mario lives up to his title as the chief idiot of the Mushroom Kingdom: If spaghetti isn't involved, he couldn't care less. Despite this, he's saved the world from countless evils, to that no-good Bowser or the insane Mr. Puzzles, all with a derpy smile on his face. So with an invite against faces old and new, can Mario meme his way through Smash Bros Lawl?

I'm sure you're gonna hear a lot of "I'm not a fan of SMG4 but", and I'm not a fan of SMG4 but this set was great. It wasn't overly complicated but it was just crazy enough to represent the Mario, with a very flexible Neutral Special with various abilities. My favourite part had to be the KO sounds segment with all the Marios from other Lawls, I suppose Springtrap's standards will be luckier next time. And I guess they're all practicing to prepare for the arrival of a certain worst nightmare of a plumber boy. Anyways, the set was great and I wonder what the outro is going to imply. Good job, this has been a great half a year for Odyssey^4
SMG4 has always been a mixed boat for me. I grew up watching it in my child to adolescence years, but I simply outgrew it and became tired of everything after the Anime Arc. With my opinions on the channel in mind, taking aspects from the golden age and more modern videos is a win-win situation for both fans and that's why I appreciate this set more than I'd like to admit. Really good set! I'm glad you made Stupid Mario simple and straight-forward, all while making the specials chaotic at the same time! Very fun character I'd -unfortunately- main.
Also, the Mario cameos in the KO segment were clever, and seeing Calamity Mario back in action for a small bit was neat as hell
This moveset was really good, definitely one of my favourites in this Lawl. The moveset is really fitting and it felt like a nice representation of Stupid Mario in SMG4 as a whole and not a representation of just a single SMG4 era, which is really nice. You really captured the chaotic nature of SMG4 with his playstyle while still keeping it simple. The other Mario cameos where also really cool to see.

And another Mario joins the Lawl craze. As someone who's a big fan of SMG4, this set managed to represent this version of Mario very well. Neutral Special was a great way to represent the iconic wacky poses from the series, and it was cool seeing other aspects of this Mario like his love for spaghetti and the infamous Super Hump be incorporated into his moveset. In addition, seeing those other Mario's in the Ko segments was a nice touch. And we see a continuation of the Morshu plotline where it seems he's now recruiting people to get back at Thanos. Overall, another excellent set, and I'm looking forward to seeing who's next (predicting it will be ExplodingTNT).

So as someone who is a HUGE fan of SMG4, & I mean….. huge. My first video I have watch was “Boil the Big Bully” all the way from 2014!
But that’s besides the point, I was hyped for his Moveset the moment he was teased in Jon’s Moveset & it payed off! Stupid Mario’s (or SMG4 Mario in the past) Moveset is very good.
Going in order, I wasn’t really a fan of Neutral Special at 1st but the more I look into it, it’s actually pretty good. It allows Mario to gain variety in his movements as well as showcase his stupid shenanigans he always does.
Side Special is interesting, being a command grab type deal while also doubling in helpful movement. One I’m unsure of, not that it’s bad, just leaves me off. Still good tho, but probably my least favorite of all his specials.
Up Special is great, I love the idea of the Mario Head use as a recovery. Tho I wonder what happens in the air? Since I assume the body just drops?
Down Special is definitely my favorite of all his moves. Yes that’s includes Final Smash! We all know Spaghetti HAD to be in the Moveset, but the way you did it is actually so clever & useful. Serving as a movement base move while doubling as a healing item.
Final Smash was funny, I love the Spaghetti monster & the complete chaos it showcases.
Overall, your take on SMG4 Mario is awesome! I love how you portrayed his shenanigans he always does while keeping him fun to play! Nice Job Zab!
Oh & KOs showing all the Marios from different lawls, the taunts & victory animations were also nice
As someone who’s been a fan of all eras of SMG4 (though some are better than others) I wondered how you’d make a set for a character like Stupid Mario with so much to work with, and you went and pulled it off!
I really like how the set many embodies the random antics and nonsense Mario pulls out on a daily basis in the series, and every move has a sense of unpredictability and relentlessness that doesn’t let your opponent get a break from Mario’s idiocy. To give my thoughts on each move:
The Neutral Special repping multiple common occurrences at once and being as versatile as it is was very fun to see, the Side Specials very questionable but understandable functions made it a good pick, the Up Special is an interesting double edged sword in what it allows for recovery, and the Down Special was something couldn’t be left out that functions as a really great tool to help Mario in multiple ways.
I wasn’t too big on the Final Smash, but it’s still well chosen and executed regardless.
All the Mario cameos in the Ko sounds were so freaking creative, (especially Calamity Mario getting a Lawl appearance after years) and the taunts and Ko’s were very well picked despite all the choices there are for them. Overall I greatly enjoyed this set, and it definitely gave me an even bigger feeling that you can handle any level of source material.

As a person who is a fan of SMG4 (Namely the earlier stuff but there are newer SMG4 videos that I enjoy) this is such a good showcase of the chaos of good ol Stupid mario
This has been my most anticipated Moveset, despite the opinions fans have on modern smg4, I will always be a fan of both and Moveset was a perfect blend of both too
His ko sound effects and taunts were the highlight of the Moveset
SMG4 fan girl here to say you did Mario extremely well! Not perfect (NSpec feels too gimmicky, maybe swap it with DSpec?) but really good. What I would personally want from SMG4 in a fighting game is a fast character with great kill power and a very cartoony set of animations meant to emulate the feel of SMG4’s videos. And here we have just that, with nudity jump acting as a great side special, Mario Head is a funny reference, although I feel like being able to crash down with it would be a funny reference to Senmodnar 9, and then Spaghetti was PERFECT! Having a move where Mario jumps towards the spaghetti, with a possibility of eating it, is such a cool movement too that really shows how thoughtful episodes of SMG4 can be while also reflecting the biggest joke with Mario in the series. As a bonus I love the reference to R64 with the Spaghetti Monster. Peak moveset, easily my favorite so far.

As a big fan of SMG4, this made my day. Way more better than Lawl Toonami's version. (Question: why rename him "Stupid" Mario back then instead of just "SMG4" Mario?)
Loved the other Marios cameoing during the KO segment, nice touch.

'Stupid Mario' is how Mario (and the SMG4 Universe) is referred to as a whole in and out of SMG4 (Grand Mario Hotel, Mario's Madness, etc)

Great moveset. If I can make a suggestion about the victory theme (which I love the use of the SML remix don't get me wrong) why not use the quick SMG4 oprning featured in Modern episodes. I feel like the whole crew's "That's-a so nice!" would be a great touch for victory screens, since it was a Mario voice line used in NSMB on the DS when defeating a boss.
