I absolutely did not expect a moveset to be released today, but boy is it a great one! As someone who only knows about this terrible movie because of reviews, Mrs. Mavilda was a character that didn't seem like she had much to work with aside from the chainsaw from the ending, so I was super surprised to see how well you adapted her role in the film as a moveset. Having a risk-reward move that's literally about playing a card game is ingenious, and I also loved how the Side B involved the poor children and tied together to the "two bags". Final Smash was hilarious as well. She doesn't seem like a character that would be too easy for starters, but she is certainly someone who could be really dangerous if played by someone who mastered her. As the narrator said, you always win when you are good. Merry Christmas, and I can't wait for the Gems! What we saw of them in this moveset already looks amazing
This was such a fun Christmas Gift! Seeing Mrs. Mavilda in Lawl is hilarious in its own right, but the fact she's literally gambling her chances here is even funnier. Then the Final Smash came in and I thought "oh God how to top this?" And then the final smash. This moveset was such a treat and the lore was even better!! Seeing Dan get drunk instead of focusing, confirmation that Dio does the head thingy with everyone and not just Tord, Spinel's "let's play another game" being UNO, Mavilda gambling her SOUL, it was amazing. Sometime earlier this year, I had decided to watch The Christmas Tree in full. Whether it was out of boredom, Mrs Mavilda being a character I was really excited to see in Beatdown, or both. Seeing this film outside the reviews and infamous moments, it is an absolute *chore* to get through. Everything moves at a snail's pace and the animation plus voice acting will make you wonder why it's allowed to exist. So to not only create a solid, unique and fitting moveset for this character with what little she had, all while presumably having to go back and forth throughout this slow grind of a movie many times, is worth some serious applause and credit. As a Risk-Reward character, Mrs Mavilda’s moveset fits her perfectly. Not caring if she gets damaged if it means her opponents game will also be ruined, to using the orphans to better capitalize on the Mayors donations (which, gosh that whole scenario in Down B is such a fantastic example of a high risk, high reward play). Even her Up B can turn against her which, yeah that just works in her case. That Final Smash though, that’s easily gonna go down as one of Beatdown’s best and funniest (Oh I can just hear Markiplier losing it while watching the match replay). A lot of other moments in this were really good too. From her playstyle noting she intentionally has bad movement cause well, yeah, to her Screen KO which genuinely made me laugh hard. What nearly completely stole the show though, were the intro and outro. I think people would’ve been fine with something modest for her intro like if it was just a recap of how she got invited to Lawl and the Empty Slot winners reveal. But then ya said screw that noise and delivered a hilarious au where Judy actually did something, some all too fitting narration in both this and the outro, and a pretty funny bit with Dan. Then with the outro you saw a perfect opportunity and took full advantage of it. Will get to that in a sec, but aside the stellar comeback from PBG (frames are neat), what was personally satisfying was seeing everyone on Dios crew have an off day. More of the baddies doing casual stuff together would be greatly appreciated thank you. Also oh yeah, having a compulsive gambler like Mavilda go against D’arby was *FREAKING GENIUS* Its incredible world building and character interactions like this that can really make a Lawl shine. Like the star on top of a crisp pine tree, or several children that got blown up by Santa. Merry Christmas buddy, thank you so much for this amazing, feel good moveset that came out at just the right time. Very, very much excited for the new year and what's coming with it. This was quite incredible! Now I too have only seen reviews of the movie, and I didn’t know how Mrs. Mavilda would work for a Moveset, but this was a perfect way of doing so! Mrs. Mavilda looking like a Joke character at first and when not played well is a great way of making a risk-and-reward character (as I have experience with that). Neutral Special being her main way of buffing her moveset makes a ton of sense, and it’s a very unique way for Mavilda to (technically) counter her enemies! Side Special is another good and fitting move, and really shows how cruel Mavilda can be, using others for her benefit, even on the battlefield! The move is also a great way to set opponents up. Up B was a simple, and very good move, and Mrs. Mavilda and being unable to walk through the Mrs. Hopewell, but the orphans being able to is not only good balancing, but a pretty genius choice. Down B requiring Mavilda to look good infront of the mayor if she doesn’t want to get the money/buff in person is also some really good moveset writing. Final Smash is frankly hilarious, and another really good risk-and-reward final smash like Dangeresque’. The attacks shown for the Ko sounds, and the Ko sounds themselves were pretty cool and funny respectively, and Mavilda doing nothing but complaining or ranting for her taunts and victories and lose pose is quite befitting. This is an overall great moveset, that turnt something bad, into something good. And I also really enjoyed all the lore sequences. They were very entertaining to watch. I’m excited for the crystal gems, and I wish you good luck! (And a Merry Christmas as well of course.)

The Risk-Reward playstyle fits her role of gambling her resources away and using others like the Mayor to her advantage, but also not too much or everything will backfire on her like in the movie. I also like how the Up B has her ironically using Mrs. Hopewell the tree to help her in battle instead of trying to cut her down. The alternate option to cut the tree down to firewood is also useful in terms of keeping opponents away from Mavilda when needed. Plus I love how the Mayor was implementing into the set by helping Mavilda out by giving her money obliviously under most circumstances to help her. The FS was amazing with it electrocuting her at the start like when she tried chopping down Mrs. Hopewell, but also damaging all opponents who touch her while that happens so it isn't just a self-damaging move. Plus Santa coming in to shoot his magic down on those who were in the way when the move started was also a nice touch. Overall this was one of my favorite Beatdown movesets and I look forward to seeing more as the future goes on!

Well, I'm definitely late to the party on this one but hey I can still give my thoughts on this moveset. the intro wasn't all that much but what can ya do when you're working with Mrs. Mavilda (Don't think I didn't see the pbg reference though) now the moveset itself is one of the two that I wanted to see from the empty slot (The other being Harry Freaking potter) and it definitely did impress me how much you got out of this character, the risk/reward playstyle like how she's always gambling was genius, and she definitely feels enough like a joke character to get a sweet spot between bad and good. (And that final smash caught me off guard that was funny) And the outro was probably the most I've laughed in a lore segment so far, the rivalry between her and pbg was good, (Especially because of why it's there) Strong Bad telling Mrs. Mavilda to "Shut up lady" got a chuckle out of me, Spinel saying "let's play another game" with UNO being the game was nice, and Mavilda's "let's have another hand" after just having her soul turned into a poker chip was definitely the best part of this. definitely glad one of the characters I wanted to see out of the empty slot was great. However, I'm not too excited for the crystal gems (Mosty because I have not seen Steven Universe) so I probably won't comment on that but still I'm sure that least it'll be fun for the people who are excited for them... I don't know how to end this comment so... see ya later.
Well this sure was interesting! Going in, not really even seeing reviews for the film, and only knowing it was a bad movie, I was fairly surprised how different this set was. A character that was barely any combo material, but being able the buff herself with risks. It's a really fun idea and seeing it action like this is awesome! Final smash got a good laugh out of me, as I wasn't expecting that was all! I also love the appearance of the D'arby brothers in the outro, absolutely perfect! Happy holidays Shadbad! ^v^
