What's a "proverb" you say? A proverb is a short sentence that people often quote, because it gives advice or tells you something about life. A short, traditional saying that expresses some obvious truth or familiar experience
Here are Marco's 15 favorite Italian proverbs:
    0:00 | Intro
1:53 | Meglio un uovo oggi che una gallina domani
2:12 | Mogli e buoi dei paesi tuoi
2:40 | Chi non ha testa, abbia buone gambe
3:08 | L’erba del vicino è sempre la più verde
    3:27 | L’appetito vien mangiando
3:52 | Occhio non vede, cuore non duole
4:19 | Chi cammina lecca, chi siede secca
    9:10 | Outro

@@inevitaly it's a fun saying, but with a serious background: it's about cows going out on the ice of the lake, which would be very dangerous. A cow falling through the ice would be impossible to save. Cows being essential for a farmer's family to survive the winter, in the old days.

A few years ago, I learned that in German, "I have small apples to peel with you," is their version of "I have a bone to pick with you." I never got the meaning of the phrase until that comparison. We use it as "I'm irked at you and I want to tell you why (to give you a piece of my mind!)." And doing a menial task together provides an opportunity to hash it out.

I love Proverbs. Did you know that the proverb “don’t look a gift horse in the mouth“ possibly originated from looking at the horse’s teeth to estimate their age? Don’t check the value. Just take the gift! :-) 🐴
What a fun episode this is. I plan to say the “appetite and eating” one often even here at home. 🍴
My other favorite is “he who seeks a friend seeks a treasure” I think I’ll be enjoy using that with people who help me and who I interact with that would be really fun. Your channel is a trove. See I’m learning already. 😃❤️🇮🇹

I am so glad to see you two back again. And you appear to be still in love! :-)
I am sad because one American couple (I was following) broke up. :-(
And I am really worried about the American and Latino couple right now.
    Please.....never, never, never break up!!
If not for yourselves, then.....................for the children. :-)

Don't know if you guys would see this, but I didn't see any from Yiddish, so throwing a common one out there: Gae kachen offen yom!
It translates as: "go sh*t in the ocean!" You can use your judgment as to when it would be appropriate to say this to someone.
Side note: am a Jewish dude in relationship with Italian dude.
