Same. Of course that might be because I literally just watched his new video before watching this. Have to say these are night and day. 54 seconds of basically nothing versus something that was truly amazing to me with Kyle. I read a news story about the asteroid and it was more entertaining than this video. Oddly enough it took me about the same length of time.
I'm still waiting to see what the channel is like without Kyle. But I have to say that posting videos like this give the appearance that you're nothing without him.
Might want to go silent until you have another host. Even just someone temporary. You're really shooting yourself in the foot with stuff like this.

Exactly. We didn't follow Because Science off of the Nerdist channel because we loved Nerdist and science in general. We did it because the show was awesome thanks to Kyle's enthusiasm and general awesomeness. That's why his new channel is already growing so fast despite getting zero push here.
I wonder who they're gonna bring in to replace Kyle, or if they're just gonna admit defeat and stop uploading videos?
I think they tried a possible replacement with that one lady who had zero stage presence and flow, after two or three episodes, including one with Kyle she just disappeared.
@@worsel555 She does a separate spin-off segment called "Because Space" and has a day job at JPL that keeps her from doing it often. She was never going to replace Kyle.
She is a mechanical engineer, where Kyle is a science communicator, so it's not too surprising that his presentation is a hard act for anyone to follow. For someone acting outside her area of specialization she did a great job, but it's obviously not going to be better than someone who literally specializes in this and has years of experience.

The only thing that makes Kyle a "science communicator" is the fact that he explains science to people in videos, something she had JUST as much opportunity to do as Kyle did. She's just BAD at making videos, and there's no excuse of a reason for it, she's just not meant to be in front of a camera, because she sucks at it and for no other reason.

Interesting that Because Science is still uploading videos and re uploading old ones of Kyle. Of course there’s been rumors and stories, nothing solid but Geek and Sundry seem to be in trouble losing all kids of people from Nerdist, Project Alpha, and so on. Reports of dissenting among the higher ups and losing people like Jessica Chobot and Amy Vorpahl. Notice they really only have Dan Casey doing basically all hosting duties. Maybe Kyle got out just in time.

Extra Credits is an example of how it's possible to change a CZcams show's host. The transition was smooth but it didn't please all of the fans. The channel is still going and has active Patreon support.

"Something" happened between him and Nerdist. I don't know what or why or even if it was bad or good, but Kyle started his own channel. Just search "Kyle Hill" on CZcams. You'll find it. It already has 114K subscribers from everyone heading over there and he's putting out a video a week so far.

Just watched wall-e. You should do the science behind the movie on like the bone structue of humans, how long till vegetation is sustainable or how long it would be to get things back in order like in the end credits of the movie.
Finding the right person for the job is a big deal. I mean whoever they decide to bring on for the job is going to be the new face of this channel. I would much rather them take a little extra time to find the right person than to just get any person off of the street. Take your time Because Science, I’ll be here to support the channel.

We all love him, but i think we need to move on and stay with this channel, they built Kyle from the beginning and he built them, so i know it's a lost that they are not happy about, but at least they are trying to move on, and we must support them

huge asteroid already hit the earth, we have to be worry about the debris that pass close to us every year, the small pieces of debris are super hard to detect and most of them are burned while entering the atmosphere, but a big one can still hit us, its not as dangerous as a missile, but can still kill a person, just like lightning.

Without Kyle: 54 second PSA
With Kyle: 10-15 minute episode about whether or not the explosive in Armageddon would have actually blown up the asteroid, whether the fragments would have been more dangerous than the asteroid itself, the actual effects of the impact for an asteroid of the given size if they just let it hit us, and short PSA about not panicking over things like this given the odds of one ever actually hitting Earth, closing with the typical "be good to each other" message.
I'm sticking around to see what this channel becomes without Kyle, and I know this is still early in that process, but Because Science deserves more than a low effort sub-minute video. I'd rather see no posts than a "Don't Panic" clickbait post. Most people wouldn't even know about the asteroid if videos like this didn't point it out, so asking if we should be worried when we already aren't is just not helpful.
