I feel like a lot of people don't understand (or don't want to understand) asexuality. I'm heteroromantic but asexual and I'm honestly tired of having to explain that, even though I'm married, I'm totally fine with not having sex with my partner. Like, people have literally told me that my husband will leave me if I don't sleep with him. Hearing that from conservative people is disgusting, but even more disgusting is hearing people who are part of LGBTQA+ community saying that I don't matter and can't be a part of the community since I'm "technically straight" and "can't be attracted to a certain gender BUT ALSO not want to have sex with them" Thank you for the representation. Almost made me cry
He may not leave you, he'll just get sex from someone else. 🤷🏽♀️ Unless you find someone with an almost absent sex drive OR someone who identifies the same way you do, no one is willingly signing themselves up for a sexless marriage without any concessions. It's not being mean, it's just being realistic about your prospects.

I told my friend and she replied with “well your gonna need someone for prom” and “you’ll probably change your mind, getting married is normal.” And it bugs me and makes me upset because I’m not gonna change my mind and I can dance with myself for prom. I wanna live the life I want. Not what others want.

This short introduced me to the term sensual attraction which I am very grateful for. For a long time, I’ve been extremely confused on whether I’m Aromantic or Asexual, or both or neither! I felt like I couldn’t be ace because I thought other people looked pretty. I thought that I couldn’t be aro because I like holding hands and cuddling. But at the same time I had no desire to interact sexually or romantically with these people. Pretty quickly I discovered aesthetic attraction, but I was still hung up on if I was Aromantic or not. For a while I was convinced I was Greyromantic. Then I saw this video and thought “what the heck is sensual attraction?” Then I looked it up and found out that me enjoying holding hands and cuddling and vaguely wondering what a kiss would feel like may not be romantic at all! Of course, I am still discovering myself, but this video helped quite a bit on my journey! Thanks Queer Chameleon, you’re helping so many people. :)

A great example of how asexuals experience sex differently is me and my bestie. I'm a sex-repulsed ace. I only crave emotional and romantic connections. My bestie experiences sensual attraction with their life partner. They equate sex with the same level of satisfaction as getting a hug and consider themselves sex-ambivalent.

Hi im asexual and even though most of you wont care im still going to share what attraction i feel because maybe it could benefit or help someone, idk. Anyways i still would like to be in a relationship with someone just not in a sexual way. Think of it like the next step from best friend. I want to cuddle and kiss but that’s about it. I can still find people attractive but not because of their body. I might fins them attractive because of their personality, style or even hair. This might be confusing to some people but it feels completely normal to me. Hopefully this helped out some fellow asexuals and want to let you know that you are out alone ❤

I really appreciated the end part of that description. I have struggled for a long time with whether I qualify as ace because I experience attraction for other people. I just don't want to actually have sex with them. That bit talking about the various forms of attraction that we still experience made me feel so much better about taking on the label that does feel right to me because I do feel like so much ace content is specifically aroace, and that doesn't describe me. I didn't even figure out I was ace until I was in a relationship and felt terrible because I didn't want to do that one big piece of being in a relationship. I'm so glad I found this channel from the J.K. Rowling video recently made. This channel makes me as someone who's Ace feel seen. It's so easy for asexuality to be ignored, outright forgotten, or pushed out of the community altogether because we don't face the same level of prosecution. I learned I was asexual somewhere around 16 or 17, and somehow, just knowing that made my life a lot easier. I stopped feeling like I was different or wrong in some way because I didn't feel any attraction to anyone during High School. Knowing this existed eased my mind, of course I did receive the "You just haven't met the right person" from an openly gay work friend which hurt. Even that didn't bother me as much, I knew who I was at least a little bit. Thank you for not forgetting about the A part of the LGBTQIA+ or saying it's for ally like I've seen some people mention in this comment section.
I feel no sexual attraction, but I do feel romantic attraction. It gets kind of awkward trying to explain it to ppl, and multiple ppl have said that I'm just too young, I don't get it yet, or that it's impossible for romance to exist without s3x. Hi im asexual and even though most of you wont care im still going to share what attraction i feel because maybe it could benefit or help someone, idk. Anyways i still would like to be in a relationship with someone just not in a sexual way. Think of it like the next step from best friend. I want to cuddle and kiss but that’s about it. I can still find people attractive but not because of their body. I might fins them attractive because of their personality, style or even hair. This might be confusing to some people but it feels completely normal to me. Hopefully this helped out some fellow asexuals and want to let you know that you are out alone ❤

This video made me happy and still does every time I watch it! Even though I’m Aroace I still find happiness is the representation of aromatic, and asexual! Because the amount of times people (especially past classmates) have told me I was weird bc I never and still haven’t had a crush of any kind, since I was a kid, and sometimes its even ppl IN the LGBTQ+ community, saying similar stuff, I love that there it still a place for ppl who don’t experience/dont prefer/experience little, attraction of any or all kind!

I only recently came out as Asexual (mostly cause I realise I was ace). Before learning that I was ace, I was always confused why the comment "you just haven't met the right person yet" was so frustrating. Cause I always got it in conjunction to me explain my very low sexual drive. This video made me realise why that comment is frustrating 😅.

I really appreciated the end part of that description. I have struggled for a long time with whether I qualify as ace because I experience attraction for other people. I just don't want to actually have sex with them. That bit talking about the various forms of attraction that we still experience made me feel so much better about taking on the label that does feel right to me because I do feel like so much ace content is specifically aroace, and that doesn't describe me. I didn't even figure out I was ace until I was in a relationship and felt terrible because I didn't want to do that one big piece of being in a relationship. I felt very broken for a while because of it TBH
just to clarify, there’s a difference between romantic attraction and sexual attraction. sexual attraction is when you like someone for how they look & romantic attraction is when you like someone for their personality

I'm so glad I found this channel from the J.K. Rowling video recently made. This channel makes me as someone who's Ace feel seen. It's so easy for asexuality to be ignored, outright forgotten, or pushed out of the community altogether because we don't face the same level of prosecution.
I learned I was asexual somewhere around 16 or 17, and somehow, just knowing that made my life a lot easier. I stopped feeling like I was different or wrong in some way because I didn't feel any attraction to anyone during High School. Knowing this existed eased my mind, of course I did receive the "You just haven't met the right person" from an openly gay work friend which hurt. Even that didn't bother me as much, I knew who I was at least a little bit. Thank you for not forgetting about the A part of the LGBTQIA+ or saying it's for ally like I've seen some people mention in this comment section.

I feel no sexual attraction, but I do feel romantic attraction. It gets kind of awkward trying to explain it to ppl, and multiple ppl have said that I'm just too young, I don't get it yet, or that it's impossible for romance to exist without s3x.
