- Every swimbait fisherman knows about the Megabass Magdraft swimbait. One of the best on the market. I've spent some time and learned a few tricks to make the bait even better! Let me know if you have any as well!

I fish the 10" MagDraft and 8" huddleston. You don't need a trailer hook. Big fish will swallow the entire bait. I do like how you rigged the top hook..I may take off the bottom hook and just run one on top so that I can swim it on bottom.
Subscribed about 6 months ago. Started fishing the Magdraft about a year ago. Mostly on Lakes Fork, T-Bend & Sam Rayburn in east Texas. Quietly caught some giants, had some heart stopping followers, etc. Watched every Magdraft video I could find. A few good ones (& the opposite-but that's just CZcams...) . Most of them have been a combination of 80% BS & footage of "the guy" bragging & dragging in monsters over the gunwales , 10% basic & obvious tips and the rest was just promo for Megabass. BUT not this video! This is the best actual "how-to" Magdraft video on CZcams. Thanks for making it real & hope to see you do even more in depth videos about fishing the Magdraft. An excellent example on how CZcams videos should be filmed and a good "presentation model" for someone thinking of starting a channel of their own. Thanks.

I throw all sizes of the mag. No need for trailer hook. I hook mine on 65 lb test braid to a 15lb floro

6” bait totally unnecessary for all them stingers. I guesss if you’re trying to bring them 1 to 2lbers that are slapping it but even still… I don’t even use a stinger with the 8” but free country do what you want, I guess…

Matt Becker Fishing never lost a fish on a mag draft! FYI heavy action is to much for a 6” thats probably why you’re missing fish!!

Holy shit that’s a lot of hooks on a 6” bait
Way too overkill for a 6” bait. I mod the 8” for a weedless 10/0 beast hook and have no issues with hookups.
So much hate for a guy just sharing his technique and rigging method. Almost guarantee none of the people who comment have made their own video to help

That's ridiculous in no way shape or form does a 6 inch magdraft need any of that I catch 8 inch smallies on it with one eith fish it stock or get the freestyle and rig it on a beast hook and be done with it

If you are fishing a swimbait in the correct way in the right spot and time they will have no problem inhaling a 6inch or even a 12 inch bait

Hey, great tips. Wondered if you've ever had a new Magdraft not run true right out of the box? My new 8" wants to lay over to the right even at a very slow roll. Any help in tuning this $24 paperweight so it can be useful? Any help from you or subscribers would be much appreciated!! Thanks.
Unfortunately, no sometimes they just won’t run right. I’d try contacting MB direct!

Great video. Thanks for the info. Rod/reel combos and speed are always hard to find for these. Will be trying some this week at Champlain.
For all the haters. Explain a super spook, shad rap, or any other 6” bait with 3 trebles with your so called logic. I do believe the man said when your in tournament situations and getting short strikes. There are also at least 2 other pros, one being Chris Zaldain offering these same tips. Nobody said you had to do any/all of these ideas. If you want to be a swim bait purest thats on you and enjoy. Don’t hate on a guy for trying to help others.
What are your reasons behind throwing fluoro. Just curious.
Small amount of stretch/shock absorb, line sinks to help keep it down

Wow... I fish a lake with 1lb bass in it and I don't even need all that added metal I honestly thought this was supposed to be a sarcastic video if you need to get every fish to the boat then use a smaller bait I think you're missing the purpose of larger swimbaits.
