- In Episode 175 of Mike Finnegan's Garage, we take the Rubber Duck, my 1967 Pontiac Firebird back to where we found it, Paradise Dragstrip in Calhoun, Georgia. This was the 1/8 mile track next to the barn where the track's owner, Otto, last raced this car and where the car was hidden for nearly 16 years. This is the second time I'd driven the car at Paradise. The first time was right after we got the car out of the barn and running again. The wounded Big Block Chevy only pushed the car to a low 8 second pass. This time, we managed a 6.07 at 116 mph and I couldn't be happier. Check it out.

Hell to hear Mike laugh and yell when one of these badass toys hooks and hauls butt. It’s made me get off the couch and find an old car and put the tool box to it and see how fast I can go in a slow car lol.

yeah. funny enough the crusher camaro ran a blown big block as well. it wasnt far off from what this firebird is running. only issue was its tires. thats the biggest advantage rubber duck has. although bigger tires means more rotational weight. it would take more power to rotate a big tire than a small tire like that of the crusher camaro.

I loved watching this thing go. I have a mystery motor built by the same guy. I had to threaten to stop payment for a build sheet. All it says is that it has rod bearing clearance. Nothing more. I’m glad I’m not the only one who has a mystery motor from this builder. Hope one day I’ll see you guys at Paradise.
