If anyone's watched the whole match, they'd have noticed how Salah came back running into his own box to defend (first half). Made two very important interceptions. That's what Craig is talking about, he's a complete player.
I actually give him more credit for his workrate than the goals. Both goals literally bounced right to him (first one he has his head down upset and then it just goes to him), but his effort was very, very good off the ball

Usually Salah...between Mane and Bobby,.....usually do not defend.....he was focused on playmaking and scoring......even his FIFA stats reflects his defensive rating. And that is ok....since Klopp probably ok with it......
But the last season....and this season....Trent had been in a slump...defensive wise.......so it was noticeable that Salah track back to defend when Trent was out of position.......and Salah had mentioned being proud of his defending in some LP videos in recent months. Usually a fit Hendo and Milner had cover for Trent when Trent bomb forward. Again Hendo had mentioned that fact before in LP videos......With Hendo and Milner being out of due to injury,,,,,no one in the midfield could properly cover for Trent when he go forward and thus it left on Salah to pick up some of the defensive duties.
Noticeabley....the last few games in the last season...Salah had been obviously increasing his defending duties.
So yes....Salah had finally become a complete player.

@@ravan8510's are normally given when the keeper makes some great saves and/or makes a difference in outcome of the game. Apart from the save from Antony in the first ten minutes I don't remember any real saves he had to make. The Rashford effort was straight at him with no conviction. Clean sheets are as much to the defence's credit as the keeper's. Not his fault if he has little to do, but this was not a 10 performance. Plus he also almost cost us a goal with his dodgy footwork again.

Our midfield and attack were superb but we shouldn't forget that Robertson was playing phenomenal from the very start of the 90'. He deserves a nine because during the first half he looked like the only player that was causing huge problems for united, and let's not forget he made a great through ball to where gakpo cut back and shot in our first goal

Absolutely incredible. Coming into this game Man United looked like they were on the ascendency and Liverpool had so many questions asked of them. To win 7-0 is mental. Anyone who knows ball can tell you that Cody and Nunez would shine in the EPL. Both are young talented players who moved to a different country and all they need is proper adjustment. Liverpool just need to strengthen their midfield and defense a bit and are good to go for another five years at top level. This is a lesson to man united and to ETH. It's not easy to come back when you were down for the past 7 years
I'd pump my brakes on Nuñez. Anybody can have a random good game, that doesn't negate his abysmal performances throughout the season. Keep in mind both his goals we're headers n' none were with his feet. His finishing still isn't up to par for a player of his price tag. Gakpo is another story as he hasn't played nearly enough games. He does show a lot of promise down the road in the EPL.

It was never to do with lack of legs in midfield been saying it for ages. When Nunez played centrally he was always on the shoulder of the centre back out of possession. Since Klopp switched to a deeper lying forward ( like we had with Firmino ) in gakpo and the return of Jota the midfield has been more protected and the team more organised
Fab had his first decent game and even Trente made a tackle Konate and VvD were safe.Gapko dies though help by dropping deeper.
Personally I'd play him as an attacking midfielder when Diaz is back at full fitness

Stevie makes a really good point. As a United fan I don't look at the first two games of the season with a new manager. But in both City and Liverpool thrashings (teams we have beat also this season) they folded. Although you look to the players as disgracing themselves, this is one situation where Ten Hag has failed to get a grip on the game and shut the floodgates when you need to and the game is lost. Hope he reflects on that one because playing these top teams when they click is a totally different prospect to the Dutch league.

Generally, a team doesn't score crazily like that in follow-up games. But having said that, the season is winding down and they now have a manageable target....4th place finish (or higher). This game just shows the Liverpool players what is possible.
