    Fantastic! I echo your thoughts on my trials with FLux-Core. Having to let the Flux-Core software install everything along with the NVIDIA controller on Linux machines was a turn-off as I like to manage those things and versioning. The thing I also noticed and I suppose this will also be taking place on HIVEOS are the performance measurements. I experienced regularly re-occurring durations where the machine would seem unavailable. Now this might be worked out as that was the alpha version, but I have since removed the FLux-Core from the very machine I pieced together for using it. I didn't know about the HIVEOS integration plan before this video, super appreciative of you hunting this down! Great job my friend!

    Where are you getting this 10x rewards figure from??? In an Flux AMA over a year ago Dan stated 10x typcial mining rewards, but in a more recent Flux AMA he stated only 10 to 20 percent over normal mining rewards. Which is a huge difference and not worth it to even upgrade your rigs to the full pcie x16 lanes (pcie gen 3 x8 speed minimum suggested) , cpu and ram upgrades. Just public service announcement for people to think about before spending all kinds of money to upgrade there rigs.

    • @MillsTactical
      @MillsTactical Před 3 měsíci +1

      This. I don't see how the min requirements will change. My Octominers are still useless for PoUW because of the CPU and memory capabilities. My guess is Flux just decided it wasn't feasible to support an OS, partnered with Hive instead to have a version available to load onto the mega PoUW machines.

    I wonder if there will be overclock control if such as an option gets introduced, or will it use max power when switching from the coin it's mining to POUW Flux.
    Hopefully it'll be something that resets the overclocks of the coin it's mining and applies the flux entered overclocks by the user and when it's done from POUW Flux it would reset the overclocks and start the flight sheet overclocks of the original coin it was mining.

    • @kryptonitrous
      @kryptonitrous Před 3 měsíci

      automatic overclock switching is already in hiveos... on your worker page click the overclock tab and there you can add different overclocks for different coins that will automaticalls switch if you change flightsheet

    Very cool, think pure mining rigs though are going to get very poor benchmarks because of the pcie lanes, storage and the low ram. Just saying an 8 X 3070 all in 1 x pcie with 8gb of ram will probably be low on benchmark as well as priority. Still could happen. Could see a shortage on everything but gpus this time around, if it is very profitable.

    • @alfiethefeline3311
      @alfiethefeline3311 Před 3 měsíci

      @@zmaxgolf3166 that riser cable you are talking about is x16 to x16 extension cable, you cannot put a few x 16 cables to your motherboard. it doesnt work like that. Your Cpu has to have x16 lines to support it. i have got 125 gpus probably will only able to run 14 of them on POUW. You need to do a research about this. there are no MINING risers which are x16 or make your pcie lane x1 to x16.

    Great video! You have to remember not all rigs will do well with POUW, you need minimum 8x pcie lanes going to a card. I believe the octominers are all x1. Mining flux with 6 2080tis for about 89-92 sols @ 190-200w each for two years now! going to order a threadripper or 32core epyc for POUW!

    • @carybrown6919
      @carybrown6919 Před 3 měsíci +1

      You make a good point. These GPUs would likely be used for tasks requiring a significant amount of RAM to perform well at AI or rendering. Most mining rigs would need an uplift as 16 GB is great for mining, but 128 is probably more suitable for AI tasks.
