- BONANZA (1959-1973) Cast: Then and Now 2023 - Thanks For The Memories
Bonanza was a hugely popular American western television series that aired from 1959 to 1973. Set in the 1860s, the show followed the lives of the Cartwright family - patriarch Ben Cartwright and his three sons, Adam, Hoss, and Little Joe - as they ran their sprawling ranch, the Ponderosa, in the Nevada territory. The show was known for its classic Western themes of family, honor, and justice, as well as its strong ensemble cast. The original cast included Lorne Greene as Ben Cartwright, Pernell Roberts as Adam, Dan Blocker as Hoss, and Michael Landon as Little Joe.
Now, Let's compare the current appearances of the "Bonanza" cast members to how they appeared in the show.

It's great to hear that you love Hoss Cartwright's character and found him to have a lovable personality and heart. He was definitely one of the most beloved characters in the show, known for his kind nature, sense of humor, and willingness to help others. Many viewers were drawn to his compassionate and loyal character, and he has remained a fan favorite even years after the show ended.
Die Schauspieler sind alle Legenden und werden nie vergessen
Really liked Hoss. He was such a sweetie.
I loved how little Joe and Hoss got into trouble
Yes, Little Joe and Hoss were definitely fan favorites on Bonanza. Their mischievous antics and sibling rivalry added a lot of humor and entertainment to the show. It was always fun to see them get into trouble and then try to get themselves out of it. Their on-screen chemistry was great, and it was clear that the actors had a lot of fun playing their roles.

Hi love the show & I like all of them

My favorite show of all time
I LOVED BONANZA..THE CARTRIGHTS FAMILY THE WESTERN STORIES WERE GREAT BECAUSE WELL SCRIPTED AND ACTORS WERE RIGHT FOR THE SERIES..I NEVER MISSED ONE OF THE EPISODES I LOVED THEM THEN AND WATCHING THEM TODAY IS STILL VERY GOOD..I WISH THEY WOULD MAKE MORE LIKE IT TODAY TO BRING TELEVISION BACK TO WHAT IT USED TO BE..❤❤❤❤❤❤
You don’t know the people very well. Jaime Hunter was Not Will Cartwright son. He was the son of diseased rain maker and came to Virginia City to make Rain. Because he was an orphan Ben took him in and in season 12 he adopted Jamie. Will Cartwright was in 3 episodes of Bonanza. The producers thought they would bring him in because Pernel Roberts was leaving however the main cast of Bonanza did not want him to be permanent (mainly it was Michael Landon who didn’t want him). Will went back to Mexico to fight in their war. Will was never mention in any episode other than the ones he was in. I may sound nerdy but when you have watched all 431 episodes over and over again you learn at lot. Like the number of women who all wore the same dress. Or the number of scenic shots that were also used over and over again. Certainly saved them money. I think a fire seen behind rocks was used in 8 episodes! There two episodes where you see the cameras and three episodes where you see the microphone. Michael Landon’s horse Cochise changed several times depending on what the horse had to do. I know in real life the horse he originally had from season one was killed by thugs . So the producers had to find other pinto horses but you can always tell they were different as they had different coloured tails. Did you also know that Lorne Greene bought his horse Buck after the end of Bonanza and donated him to a riding school for the disabled and lived to be 45 years old in 1992.
Thank you for sharing your extensive knowledge about Bonanza! It's always interesting to learn more about the behind-the-scenes details and trivia of a TV show. It's great that you've watched all 431 episodes and picked up on all these details. It's also sad to hear about Michael Landon's original horse being killed by thugs, but it's heartwarming to know that Lorne Greene donated his horse to a riding school for the disabled. Thank you for sharing these insights with us!
This always make me upset when people get things so wrong and then do a video. Lots of errors here.
Vc é fera hahaha 👏👏👏👏
Adam was my favorite......

Dan Blocker was the heart of Bonanza. When Dan Blocker died, Bonanza died.
Such a great show.👍👍👍👍👍

METV
Miss him!
I liked watching this western movie . All were good. Actors.. was a good movie🖕💌
Loved the comments!
Wow Pernell Roberts left and outlived all of them
Yes, it's interesting how Pernell Roberts, who played Adam Cartwright, left the show after only six seasons and went on to have a long and successful career. He was the first of the main cast members to leave the show, and it's a testament to his talent and longevity that he outlived all of his Bonanza co-stars. While his departure was a loss to the show, it also allowed other actors to come in and contribute to the show's success.
BIG. MAN. HOSS. THE. VERY. GENTLE. GIANT. STILL. SO INCREDABLY. SAD.
He was a great actor and i believe was a good soul!

O moj Boże,jak ja sie kochałam w Adamie ❤.Pozdrawiam z Polski ✌️🇵🇱🇺🇦🇺🇲✌️
I remember watching the show over 50 years ago and the underlying theme that seemed to be there was sadness and loneliness. Although it was and still is a great show. One observation was that any female that got involved with any family member was doomed. Be it either dying or being killed or just running back east. Don’t make them like this anymore. Purnell Roberts was in the short lived Trapper John MD and I remember Dan Blockers son had a short lived acting career.🇦🇺
I loved every one of them , however I would be lying if I didn't say that my most favorite cast member was Michael Landon who played Little Joe.
The only other Western to compare was The High Chaparral, that too was about a family: Big John Cannon and his wife Mexican Victoria, Uncle Buck the brothers Billy Blue the son and Manolito brother of Victoria. It was the first TV series to be shown in colour on BBC2. Not quite as good as Bonanza and did run as long but still very popular. And then came Lancer - great series but was cut short. The handsome and popular actor James Stacey was Johnny “Madrid' Lancer also starred Andrew Duggan and Wayne Maunder as Scott. That was my favourite of the genre. Nowadays any form of western is not considered suitable viewing for modern audiences. In the fifties and sixties they were on TV all the time, too many to call. Here are a few: Wagon Train, Maverick,Rawhide, Gun Smoke, Bronco, Cheyenne, .Laramie, Cimarron, Gunslinger et al.
And most off all up sing the cook
Now All muerte
