The bending and soldering went quite well for a change, practice makes perfect I guess 😁👍
Love your channel Cliff. A good hint after soldering with acid flux is to scrub the joint with some baking soda, then rinse off with water, then the ipa. The bicarb neutralises the acid and stops rusting down the line.
Thanks for the tip 👍🙂
Looking great Cliff!
Thanks Charlie 👍
Looking pretty solid! Bending wire and soldering is a tough part for me too. And as it is not always needed I don't get enough practice. Nice tips you shared there! Thank you!
You're welcome Andrew, I know you struggle as well, but most of our models have them, practice makes perfect 🤔👍
Great tea and toast watch thanks Cliff.
Thanks Mark, and I just did the same with one of Adam's videos, (Model AV8R) the Fokker Dvii from the SEFF display. Ps I'm prepping the Mercury IV for today's flying 🙂👍
@@CliffHarveyRCPlanes have fun Cliff
Nice one Cliff sir crack on
Thanks Barry
Cliff fantastic example of making landing gear. I made my first landing gear ever using almost the same technic minus your precision. Jeff in LA USA
Well done Jeff, it really could have been a little more precise but it was close enough, cheers
Cellulose Thinners cleans of the flux a treat. Must admit, being an "old Fart", I swear by Bakers Fluid and a Micro Gas Torch for such exercises.
Hi Paul, thanks for the tip, I've never used a micro gas torch, they look like a pretty easy tool to use, cheers
@@CliffHarveyRCPlanes Hi Cliff. The added benefit is also that you don't have to touch the workpiece with a Soldering Iron and move something. Bit of Flux, nice blue pencil flame and it's quick. Bobs ya Uncle, job done! Cheers.
I like to anneal the wire first to make the bends easier then harden afterwards.
Perhaps I'll get a little gas torch, cheers
Cliff I know your least favorite part is bending gear, but it sure looks great!
Thanks Adam, when it works out I guess it's not so bad 🤔👍
