- Not wanting to see the Pink Spitfire gather dust I've added ailerons to the wings. Bit more of a bigger job than I had originally thought but this time she's going to behave like the thoroughbred she is ... of that I'm sure.

She's going to look stunning against a blue sky 👍🙂
Great wing modifications Cliff, masterclass of strengthening wings like you did. I am sure she will fly perfect this time. 👍🏻
I hope so too Chris, thanks 👍
Very impressed, Cliff, with the modifications you made to the wings, should fly fantastic now and it certainly looks the part 😀👍
Fingers crossed Ian, I'm hopeful 🤔👍
I just wish I had kept my spitfire I would have joined you ,the spitfire that you did a story on is destined for a museum not sure which one yet, thanks again for sharing it with your followers ,Ricky.
That's good news Ricky, thanks for letting me know 👍
Nice transformation Cliff. Just got to love a Spitfire. I need to do a few repairs to my FliteTest Spitfire...get her in the air again...to fly with Matt Harris's beautiful Lancaster!
Thanks Mike call Matt you can't beat warbirds in formation 👍
Very nice craftmanship as always. I am liking the idea of the catstrips, I've never used them but it does make your wing look nice and solid. The final look turned out pretty good. I am going to have to put another pink Spitfire on my to-do. Thx for sharing!
That's cap strips Andrew, they do add a lot of strength as well, still waiting to re-maiden her though, cheers
Nice work Cliff.
Thanks 👍

Very nicely done sir crack on
Thank you Barry! Cheers!
Hi Cliff, looks really good 👍. Nice job🙂
Thanks Tom 👍
Should go well now. I wonder why the tissue slackens off with lacquer? I seen Mark Robinson use it to great effect. I am about to start an SE5a and intend to Doculam/Tissue it. maybe I'll go down the Dope route too. Look forward to the maiden if ever these high winds stop!
Hi Bob, the lacquer's ok on tissue alone but not over Doculam it seems, when the wind drops! 😁👍
It was worth giving the all moving wing a go nothing tried nothing gained.
I think with the flat aerofoil it will fly a lot faster. Perhaps she becomes an outdoor bird.
Dope is definitely the way to go
It was a fun experiment Mark but time to move on, definitely an outdoor bird now 🙂👍
