    Basically, instead of measuring your success by the completion of the task, you measured success by how well you stuck to the times of your schedule. Makes sense!

      exactly....its about process.....if you wanna make 3 sitting for 3 hours daily to read something....then make sure you sit for 3 times for 3 hours daily.....and just sit ideal keeping reading stuff in front of you for few days....study will automatically start after few days....due to body adaptation at that place and make sure keep sitting for complete 3 hours.....

      I do something similar to this, but my day is all habitual personal stuff and routine work before noon. Then at noon, I check my planner and handle time restrictive things. It helps me not burn out by the afternoon, because I feel like I’ve just started the actual stressful things. even though everything I do in the morning is productive, because it’s routine it takes up so much less mental energy. This works really well if you have long days with multiple focuses

    Honestly this was exactly I needed to hear and it makes so much sense, it clicked. And if you didn’t finish what was set for that block of time then the next day you can fix/rethink the issue. Even before starting my new found journey of keeping a schedule this will be SO helpful and I believe it will work for the long run. Thank youuuu!!!

    Thanks for this - I found it very helpful and a great reminder for my own routine. I think it is more powerful than you realise. That emotional component of feeling good about yourself is critical. It makes everything so much easier. Plus, over time, we build will power by making commitments to ourselves and sticking to them.

    Runing a startup during university time gets so fustrated. Leaving 5k before 3 day submission is something that works for me. 3 years in a raw I am promising myself I to take myself and do assigments in chunks, but that never happens....
    Even I am convincing myself that this assigment is going to be beneficial to me ... but in the end only pressure helps me to find time and do - 5k or 10k work.. 🙄 (p.s i am in the middle of finishing 2.6k from 5k 🤣🤣 till tomorrow, and tips of prograstination really atracting me..).

    I'm a little confused. What do you do if you actually don't finish the first task in the block of time you set aside? You just come back to it after the end of your schedule, or the next day? 🤔

      I mean if you did stick to your schedule, I’m assuming you would have free time after which would be allocated towards these tasks. However, this is an effective strategy to keep you constantly focused so you shouldn’t have unfinished work anyways. Good luck!

    • @najeedalshakhshir4959
      @najeedalshakhshir4959 Před 3 lety +7

      Not at all! I understand she was a little all over the place, but her idea sets a very good foundation.
      She meant that you need to be able to extract a reward out of a schedule that you make. Don't make the schedule an excuse to punish yourself. Don't be harsh to yourself and make your schedule sound like something out of a prison camp.
      The way I can meaningfully interpret it (to myself), is that your schedule should be easy to follow and not rigid. For this, you need three things: 1) Plenty of Buffer time for unexpected things; 2) Breaking down the task to its simplest components during PLANNING (this is an absolute must);
      3) Write down the reasons/benefits that result from carrying out that task. (could help in crossing out a task that can be wasteful of time and energy; for example, I could waste so much time shining shoes, fixing my fountain pen, sewing an old pair of socks)
      This way, when you successfully follow your schedule, you will feel you are actually capable of achieving something. This feeling is extremely important (and that's what got Natasha to make the video). Because if you fail to follow the schedule, motivation can sink shockingly low.
      I actually had to dig up such videos as a result of being depressed about not following schedules for the last 4 months. My schedules are very rigid. Also, when I carry out my tasks, I judge myself mercilessly. I should learn how to enjoy the process. I hope I am getting there slowly.
