Lyrics
Who's that girl?
The language of love
Slips from my lover's tongue
Cooler than ice cream
And warmer than the sun
Dumb hearts get broken
Just like china cups
The language of love
Has left me broken on the rocks
But there's just one thing
(Just one thing)
But there's just one thing
And I really wannna know
Who's that girl
Running around with you?
Tell me
Who's that girl
Running around with you?
The language of love
Has left me stony grey
Tongue tied and twisted
At the price I've had to pay
Your careless notions
Have silenced these emotions
Look at all the foolishness
Your lover's talk has done - Hudba
One of the most beautiful hypnotizing voices in music...Annie Lennox❤❤❤
I agree. Supreme voice
In May 1984, Eurythmics hit the charts with this classic. Truly a memorable tune even in May 2024!
Spotting all the cameos in this vid! Siobhan Fahey, Bananarama, Marilyn, Hazel O'Connor, Bucks Fizz amongst others. Wowee!! Fab song, legendary Annie & Dave ❤
I love how smug they all look. I think the director told them to look as self-satisfied as they possibly could, lol. A bit of a deliberate parody of 1980s excess.
Thanks. I knew I should recognize a number of them, but I could only get Bananarama.
Kiki Dee, Kate Garner from Haysi Fantayzee, Jay Ashton, & Cheryl Baker from Bucks Fizz.
@@glenjones6980
Ha! Buck's Fizz would be called 'Mimosa' now.
Annie Lennox- what an incredible voice she possesses. Powerful, sensual, beautiful. Her diction is outstanding, every single word is crystal clear. She's a class act. She also looked stunning with long hair!
Sums up all my thoughts, thanks for comment.
Despite I prefer Annie Lennox with short hair, it's a perfect sum-up.
Imagine being married to a woman who was a dead ringer for her at the height of Annie's career , it was a time in my life not easily forgotten ..plus I love their music too ..
Yes!
That's right!!!
I can't get over the four different ways she delivers "who's that girl" in the first chorus. Jesus
One of the best hits of the Eurythmics.
looks strangely feminine
@Random man ha I saw you say this somewhere else, was more fitting in that other video though 🧐
@Random man u only save yourself by not getting involved

Amazing Eurythmics!!! And the girls Bananarama on the vid !!!! Rock!!! ✨⚡️✨
Who realised the man finally with Annie Lennox is Lennox herself?
Annie and Dave finally heading to the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame. Congrats to my favorite duo ever not named Don and Phil.
And rightfully so it is long overdue they are iconic and legendary, well well well deserved!!!
Very nice. Respect for goodness.3.5.
Annie your voice is still the BEST in 2023. No one can sing any better than you.❣️
No i think not so...Jennifer Rush could be easily ❤
Annie is great but there are many who sing just as well and some even better.
I never realized Bananarama was in this video until now! Ha! Awesome 👍
This song is hauntingly beautiful. I liked Annie with long hair.
it's a wig
Annie had a better wigmaker than Dave's "bimboes" !!! 😆
@@ninaelsbethgustavsen2131 My dear , each one of those"bimbos" as you put it, except for one, where supermodels of the 80s. You'll notice they're all much taller than Dave.
Hollywood, that's exactly why she cut it.
@@amandamcnamara1617 Annie Lennox was one of the few artists that didn't compromise herself for the talons of celebritydom.
Take me back to 1983
Yes, take me back before February 4th and I'll play Sam from Quantum Leap and prevent Karen Carpenter's untimely death!
Anyone here watch Solid Gold in the 80’s? I still remember the solid gold dancers performing to this song lol.
What a fantastic and well made video too. The director was Duncan Gibbons who sadly died in a house fire, going back in to rescue his cat. RIP Duncan , a master class in music video
Absolutely tragic rip🙏
Wow! Thanks for the info. Somebody needs to write a good bio about Annie and Dave, their musical backgrounds, and the hard work they put in to make the Eurythmics so special. Annie’s mesmerizing voice and presence and Dave’s programming skills and musical chops made them stand out during a golden age of amazing voice/studio genius duos
What a man.. The cat apparently lived to meow another day 😸
I bet it started when he played one of his mixtapes, RIP king

I dunno how people can overlook Dave Stewart, when discussing what is a group. He's a great songwriter, musician, producer, and image maker.
He, himself, has said that he prefers to stay in the background. Smart.
Too right
The spiritual Cowboy 🤠
DS is a musical genius... And AL has a vast vocal range.....

it was too early for auto-tune
We had something called "vox" that was the precursor to autotune back then. You may need to google the term.

40 years ago, and memories of living in Brighton - summertime by the sea. All gone now in the Autumn breeze.
Brighton in the 1980s was an interesting place, by all accounts.
I think Anne Lennox is the most prettiest women on earth 🌎
'woman'
released in 1983 and still sounds as fresh as ever in 2019, what a great tune, well done Annie!
I was 1 when this was released and didnt start getting into 80s music and hunting for all I could around the age of 17-18 which was late 90s...1998-1999..i love 80s music. My friends at the point of the year 2000 they would say I was older than my years and a old woman in a young body lol just because I didn't like pop music like my friends did like Nsync and Britney Spears and The Backstreet boys etc. I'd listen to the radio just to find and tape songs from the 80s then go out and buy the albums based on a song. I miss good music. I feel kinda bad for the younger ones cos they just need to accept what's put out there which is sad... Especially when the best thing they like is Harry Styles or Ed Sheeran
@@lisadavie5819 the music still exists. Recorded music / video is like a time machine. We can still enjoy it

The 80s - greatest decade
Stewart appears in the video, escorted by a number of different women played by a variety of guest stars including Cheryl Baker and Jay Aston of Bucks Fizz, Kiki Dee, Hazel O'Connor, Kate Garner of Haysi Fantayzee and all four members of Bananarama (including Stewart's future wife, Siobhan Fahey and future group member Jacquie O'Sullivan, who was a member of the band Shillelagh Sisters when the video was filmed, and who would replace Fahey in Bananarama in 1988). The gender-bending pop star Marilyn also makes an appearance in the video as another of Stewart's escorts. Despite the small role, Marilyn's appearance proved a high-profile move which helped lead to his own music career later the same year.
Where is Jackie? What minute?
Her voice does something to me. I can't explain it. I feel as if I'm under a spell.

Man, look at Dave Stewart's big hair. Back in the 80's that was a cool look.
Still is if you're a prize fighter
Or Dave A. Stewart even or just The Maestro!
Annie.....thank you.....
Warmer than the sun
The moment I heard Eurythmics on the radio, at about 8, I knew I'm into electronic music.
I've progressed to Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, and the like, but I'll still turn the radio up when Annie And Dave are on.
Which isn't that rare over here.
Dave Stewart's hair, too funny after all these years. And Marilyn. The sly humour. Love it.
My god she's so gorgeous
Absolutely brilliant video!
I think Annie Lennox as the most prettiest singing voice in the world 🌎
I have always loved the multi-layered vocals of Annie, and the deep effect of "Tell Me". Simple amazing, you don't get this kind of singing from performers today.
They couldn't do it even if they dared...I think Adele is the only one who could.
Annie is a complete artist❤
Oh Annie you sweetheart
Definitely the hairstyle that suits her the most.
Dave Stewart is so underrated.

Wow, her tribute to Sinead O'Connor ( in memoriam segment) at the Grammys brought me to tears....
Seeing Marilyn's cameo at 1:35 is EVERYTHING! Marilyn was the most beautiful man in 80's music. Love you, Maz!
George Michael or Lindsay Buckingham.
Lots of memories
Good to see 'Marilyn' in an early cameo......
Annie's vocal talents are really on display in this song. Subtle and yet powerful.
What a first line lyric... The language of love slips from my lovers tongue, cooler than ice-cream and warmer than the sun... and what a vocal performance. Fabulous track
Dave stewart is a genius
She’s 🔥🔥
I was 9 when I saw Sweet Dreams. I was absolutely captivated by Annie. I thought she was beautiful and I loved her voice. I loved that she was so different; androgynous, fearless. I didn’t see many women brave enough to do something different than just be eye candy at that time. I loved her. Still do..
Epic epic song, possibly their best with Annie's voice at its most heavenly and yet haunting. I never realised how many 80's faces were in this video - I got Bananarama (I wonder if this is how Dave and Siobhan got together), Marilyn, Hazel O'Connor, possibly Kiki Dee and a few other familar faces I couldn't put names to. Jacquie O'Sullivan, who was a member of the band Shillelagh Sisters when the video was filmed, and who would replace Siobhan Fahey in Bananarama in 1988. So this is the only video with all four members of Bananarama in it.
I remember seeing this video for the first time and just being amazed by Annie Lennox. The songs are amazing, but she’s even more amazing.

Annie has the best female voice of the last 50 years no doubt. She's amazing!!
Karen Carpenter
I agree but have to add Johnette Napolitano and Kate Bush, of course!
Who cannot be entranced by her seductive, smooth and raspy vocals? Always unique and beautiful. Miss Annie Lennox. A songstress that ruled the 80s. I'm sure, that she's influenced so many people through the last three decades and across the world.

I was lucky to grow up in the 80's (born in 75 😊). Eurythmics was one of the most powerful and successful group in the 80's. It was hits ... after hits ... after hits.
