Ya this is the headset. The open ecosystem means so many cool accessories can be created in the future. Glad to hear that many app stores will be available.
Yeah, I am definitely excited to get my backer unit!!
Soo cool 😎 love it.
So excited for our backer units to show up!!
Looks great!
Can't wait for mine to show up!!
Awesome video! Really good impressions and information. I can't wait to get my Lynx R1 - I just hope there will be stuff to do with it!
Yeah, I am really looking forward to mine as well. I am definitely hoping for some good AR content on the platform!!
Dude, its an open system that also uses OpenXR . The only android software that you won't find a way to use on it will come from one corporation that you should already be boycotting.
@@Snaphoo yes, I agree with you in the long term. I’m referring to what I’ll be able to do on day one of receiving the Lynx R1 as a non-dev Kickstarter backer. Will the store be up and running? Also, most of the current OpenXR software (primarily gaming focused I’ll add) requires controllers which we know won’t be ready at launch. More specifically, what I’m referring to is content focused on utilising the passthrough AR functionality of the R1. Will we have an integrated desktop streaming layer for multi-monitor use while in AR passthrough on day 1? Will VD be available? Will there be an AR CAD or 3D printing .Stl viewer available in AR on day 1?
I don’t doubt all of this will come, along with everything else OpenXR related. My comment was more about what can we expect on day 1 of receiving the unit as a backer?
Can't wait for your next podcast to hear more in depth about your experiences with the Lynx as well as other devices at CES.
Hopefully we will be able to have one this coming weekend!! 😁👍
This freedom is the headset we need. I wonder how diy software friendly it will be. I dislike being stuck in big tech ecosystem.
Agreed!! It sounds like it will be pretty open source.
I love french Palmer Lukey enthusiasm, wishing the best for his team!!
Haha, definitely wishing them the best as well!!
Can't wait for it to get out there.
Did they not mention when the first units will reach the backers?
Yeah, he did mention in the video. Hoping a few more weeks then units will be shipping out to backers
Looking forward to delivery of my headset
Same here!!
I know a dude who ordered one of these so long ago, he was a part of the kickstarter. He said they were shipping in August, this was July 22nd on Discord. boy ol boy my blood would be boiling over. I want to ask him again about it but I'm not trying to reopen a friend's wound lol
We ordered on Kickstarter as well. Unfortunately that's just how kickstarter goes. They always get delayed. Even worse when factoring in covid, that slowed down production of everything and raided prices of raw materials.
Nah no blockers on that thing, they are a must for me, and 90 fov these days is a joke, no new headset should be less than 100
It felt bigger then 90 though, and that may be because of no blockers. Adding in your natural fov I think may make it seem bigger. I actually use my Quest Pro a lot without the Blockers.
They come with a magnetic blocker you can put on
YEEEESSSSSSSSS
It looks like a great hmd! I feel bad for Stan because I think the delays cost him sales. Not his fault!
Damn sure did cost him sales. I know they did
Yeah for sure, covid messed up a lot of stuff. Hard for these startup companies having to deal with that!!
