  • Having lived in Kyiv, Ukraine for almost three years back in 2014, I decided it was time to go on a journey back to Ukraine´s capital to see what life is like. I didn´t know what to expect. Join me on a trip from the Polish border town Przemyśl 🇵🇱 to Kyiv 🇺🇦.

    Hi Stefan, love your video. How did you book the ticket from Prezemysl to Kyiv? The Ukraine Railways website blocks me from booking tickets, no matter which device I am using or which country I am in. How did you get round this, and who did you book through if it was not through Ukraine Railways?

      I have similar questions about train tickets and public transport tickets>
      Feels a bit like when the BErlin wall fell I no one knew under what conditions you could enter East Germany.

    This is crazy when did you go? Because back in April 2023 I went to Kyiv and it was as bright as Paris by night!

    Im planning a trip to Kiev in September, I have almost all done but on different pages I see that its mentioned to have a medical insurance that covers COVID 19, I have my medical insurance but this is not covered and its not mentionning anything about it, however, it is completely mandatory? will it be okay just to show what I have? Im just going to visit some friends and the city I hope I do not have any issues.

      Heey Pablo ! When I went , i went this january and april, only a passport is sufficient . They did not ask for insurance or whatever . Also most insurances don’t cover Ukraine cuz governments advice against travel to it . You should be fine with just your passport :) Are you going by train, car, bus ?

      @@stefanhb I want to take a bus from Krakow but Im open to any other means because I know the travel is going to be long, in the meantime Im choosing to go by bus. Thanks for your answer everything is almost ready and Im just waiting the day for the trip 😁

      @@aarbol2 The bus should be fine too, though i think the border procedures by train are fastest . When you go by bus everyone needs to get out of the bus hand in their passports and wait, while also normal cars are in line etc . From krakow you could go to Przemysz and there you can take a direct train to Lviv and Kyiv

      @@stefanhb Ohhhh thank you so much, this information is important, if I can save time that will be better because I do not have too much time and i need to go back to Poland to take another plane . I will look for the train options, if you have more information that can be helpful please share it 🙏

    Hello mate just did you show just the passport or you take any additional insurance to show to the Ukrainian border control like medical insurance etc?

    • @stefanhb

      Hey ! Actually, the process at the border went very smooth . All they asked for was my passport, they did not ask anything else

      @@stefanhb Hi Stefan, great video, I am planning a solo trip to Kharkiv to deliver some humanitarian aid to friends I know from before the war next month. I've always flown to Kyiv, do the border guards stamp your passport on the train? Do they visit you cabin by cabin? I've never crossed a border via train. As my Russian/Ukrainian is a limited, I'm trying to be as prepared as possible. Do you use Telegram by any chance?

    • @stefanhb
      @stefanhb  Před rokem +1

      @@neilw.3012 Yes the border guards do stamp your passport. The process is they go cabin to cabin to collect the passports, then they stamp it. Customs agents also may visit the cabin to search for any illegal contraband etc. It al went very smooth when I went. If you are going to delivering humanitarian aid to friends, you should not worry at all

      @@neilw.3012 Hi there! Just want to add something. I'm currently in Lviv, went there through Przemysl. The border guards there did not stamp my passport for Ukraine, and the agents on the train who check the passport, when she saw there was no stamp she was like "Where are you going? Why are you going there?!". Fortunately, since I'm a journalist I had my press card to show but yeah if you're bring humanitarian aid it should go smoothly ;) Good luck and take care!!
