#7 🇺🇦 On the Hunt for Ukraine's Soviet Gym
Well, the audio sucks because I bought a new camera and still need to figure out the microphone settings, but hey, since I arrived in Kyiv I've been in bed with a cold and a bad cough, so today I decided to try and find something sportsy. I explored the island of Trukhaniv on the Dnipro river in Kyiv, and looked for the famous and notorious Soviet gym to get in some exercise. Little did I know what I ended up in ...

#6 🇺🇦 Would you cross the Hungarian-Ukrainian border by train?
zhlédnutí 109Před rokem
When I went to Ukraine in January, I promised myself to visit this country more. So, i decided it was time to leave my apartment in Spain and travel to Budapest, the capital of Hungary, where I jumped on a train to the Ukrainian border to continue my journey onwards to Kyiv. Travel to Ukraine in general is marked red at almost any website of whatever country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Would...

🇺🇦 In the center of Kyiv I´m staying in a nice hotel, and though even in the center the war can be felt, I wanted to explore the poorer areas of Kyiv. Well, I went to the district of Troieshchyna, some people here call it the poorest area of Kyiv or even a ghetto. Apart from some cool Soviet buildings (like almost everywhere actually in the city) I stumbled upon the ¨Troieshchyna Market¨. Littl...

🇺🇦 I jumped on a bus to the city of Irpin. From Kyiv it´s only some 10 miles further northwest where the city of Irpin is. In March 2022 Irpin was the place of heavy battles between the Russian and Ukrainian army. In the video I´ve said multiple times that Irpin was occupied by Russians, however, as I understood correctly is that Irpin was under Ukrainian control and Bucha (the city right acros...

Welcome to the first vlog / video of a series of roadtrips! I drove from Amsterdam to Paris when the internal borders of France and Belgium were "closed". Although, the borders should have been closed, there were no border controls. Once in Paris, I treated myself nicely in the Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel hotel. Oh, and I flew my drone out there! Hi Stefan, love your video. How did you book the ticket from Prezemysl to Kyiv? The Ukraine Railways website blocks me from booking tickets, no matter which device I am using or which country I am in. How did you get round this, and who did you book through if it was not through Ukraine Railways?

    Im planning a trip to Kiev in September, I have almost all done but on different pages I see that its mentioned to have a medical insurance that covers COVID 19, I have my medical insurance but this is not covered and its not mentionning anything about it, however, it is completely mandatory? will it be okay just to show what I have? Im just going to visit some friends and the city I hope I do not have any issues.

      Heey Pablo ! When I went , i went this january and april, only a passport is sufficient . They did not ask for insurance or whatever . Also most insurances don’t cover Ukraine cuz governments advice against travel to it . You should be fine with just your passport :) Are you going by train, car, bus ?

      @stefanhb Před 11 měsíci

      @@aarbol2 The bus should be fine too, though i think the border procedures by train are fastest . When you go by bus everyone needs to get out of the bus hand in their passports and wait, while also normal cars are in line etc . From krakow you could go to Przemysz and there you can take a direct train to Lviv and Kyiv

    People look like this on you because we have a ban on filming critical infrastructure, military facilities, shooting points, etc. during the war. And they are almost everywhere. Even in the same market where you were, there is one of the largest thermal power plants in Kyiv, into which a lot of Russian missiles flew just days before you filming. Although for the most part there are just a lot of illegal immigrant sellers in this market. Thank you for showing my native left bank of Kyiv, this is rare on CZcams. Although there is actually a lot of interesting. Good luck :)

      @@stefanhb Hi Stefan, great video, I am planning a solo trip to Kharkiv to deliver some humanitarian aid to friends I know from before the war next month. I've always flown to Kyiv, do the border guards stamp your passport on the train? Do they visit you cabin by cabin? I've never crossed a border via train. As my Russian/Ukrainian is a limited, I'm trying to be as prepared as possible. Do you use Telegram by any chance?

    • @stefanhb

      @@neilw.3012 Yes the border guards do stamp your passport. The process is they go cabin to cabin to collect the passports, then they stamp it. Customs agents also may visit the cabin to search for any illegal contraband etc. It al went very smooth when I went. If you are going to delivering humanitarian aid to friends, you should not worry at all

The border guards there did not stamp my passport for Ukraine, and the agents on the train who check the passport, when she saw there was no stamp she was like "Where are you going? Why are you going there?!". Fortunately, since I'm a journalist I had my press card to show but yeah if you're bring humanitarian aid it should go smoothly ;) Good luck and take care!!
