New from Uniden the Bearcat BC365CRS is the follow on model to the hugely popular BC345CRS. All the features you'd expect from a narrow band 500 channel scanner with FM radio and NOAA weather.
I just received one of these for Christmas (yesterday). I am on the correct frequency of my local police scanners but it doesn’t pick up anything. I’ve tried everything. My parents have an older Bearcat and it works perfect with the same exact frequency. What am I doing wrong?
Does it have the 8.33 khz steps to pick up airband frequencies. Police ect use digital these days so you probably won't pick up anything on emergency services . There's probably not much you'll pick up on this device at all apart from local ham's and weather reports.
I have the older scanner like this except no narrowband, and my local police use narrowband. I can listen to local fire depts. though. I think I am going to upgrade to this model.
bad IDEA, this scanner is garbage. and Uniden knows it, you are better off with a Homepatrol 2 scanner to use by your bedside. HP2 can scan the Latest Digital modes and Display in TEXT what you are scanning.
@@markplott4820 How can you make a claim this is junk? My county doesn't even use digital trunking or encryption, they all use analog which it would be stupid for me to pay the price these digital radios cost when I can pick up a 345CRS or 365CRS for $100.00 or less. My local Dispatch told me they will never go digital because it's to expensive for their budget. My 345CRS works great but gave it to my father so I'll either buy another 345CRS or the 365CRS which I'm trying to get honest input if the newest version quality and performance is less than the 345CRS.
@@CZcamsISRANBYRETARDS - anything analog is DEAD technology. even AM broadcast radio went Digital years ago. any business or public safety not using DIGITAL are LUDDITES. yes, Digital radio is more expensive with license fees. but there are Cheaper Digital alternative, NXDN/iDAS. the iDAS system is both a Conventional Simplex/Trunking & Digital/Trunking system that can update & grow at YOUR pace. iDAS repeater can handle both Analog/Digital simultaneously. you can continue to use old equipment until you can purchase NEW iDAS digital radio & repeaters. the iDAS repeater has a 2 in 1 system that has 2 repeater in each box if you need to expand. and Digital Encryption is standard in iDAS. @@markplott4820 It's not dead. Many cities and states across the US still use Analog. Like I said, it would be absolutely pointless to pay $300.00 + for a radio to just receive Analog frequencies. Telling people it's dead is being dishonest. Unless you absolutely need digital then upgrade otherwise research your local stations and save some money if they are still using analog.
I get an error sign on mine I"m trying to get programmed and can't find a video on that~ can anybody help~ I followed the directions to reset it and it don't anything reset but the clock
Did you figure it out? Did you consider the Whistler 1025 Analog desktop? I ask because I'm looking for one and can't decide. I actually contacted "Zip Scanners" and asked for a recommendation based on my zip code, and they responded with these four TRX-1, TRX-2, BCD436HP, and BCD536HP However, if you look them up it's way, way more money than I want to spend. I'm trying to find the best one for $100
I'm willing to help ANYONE program this. Just send me a message. It is still a good inexpensive NON DIGITAL(P-25) conventional scanner for under $80.00 new.
Why are you disappointed with this BC365CRS? If your area is trunking analog or digital, then it isn't for you! If it is a small town/village using VHF/UHF, it should fit the bill. Log onto Radioreference.com and look up your state, then city or town. It's fool proof.
I have the BC345CRS. I have had it for 8 or 9 years now. Looks as good as the day I got it. It really serve its purpose. Now I can't get local police but I can get everything including railroads. The marine channels well they are just too far away. I have had hours of entertainment by my 500 channel scanner. I still have 100's of empty channel's. It still working good and have no need for upgrade at this time. I would like to learn how the personal computer and interface works on these radios. Im self educating on it.
Most of the police and fire are truncking and encrypted. That's why you don't hear anything when he scans. Still, you're gonna get something on this, like airplanes and a few emergency channels.
both Uniden and Whistler are pretty bad, they don't offer Continious Coverage nor can they monitor CW, SSB and don't offer models that receive AM broadcast radio. even the Entry level ICOM & AOR scanners have a Ferrite bar AM antenna with superior AM reception.
That is not static on that police frequency, that is a "Digital police radio system control channel" that you are trying to tune with an analogue only (old tech type) scanner. Who are you trying to kid OMG LLLLLLLLLLLLOL.
It’s encrypted noise you hear you need a triple truck scanner or a scanner to hear phase 1 or phase 2 or p25 to hear the feed you are hearing encrypted noise .. not whatever that moron said lol
Lol thats funny.. but thank you, very much im literally just getting into any and all kinds of communication equipment, and without anyone to personalize my questions to its difficult sometimes... again i thank you sir
Well if u wanna know what scanners to use to hear encrypted feed I can help .. like the home patrol 2 it will pick up everything encrypted there are a few more
I just bought this scanner, didn't even know how to start it, but I think I can give a better explanation of how it works than this video.
Exactly

Other than to demonstrate that this scanner was picking up nothing more than some "open mic" noise, what was the purpose of this video?
The noise on the police band sounds like 800 mkz band. Not an open mic. As my dad would tell me, "if and when all else fails, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS."
What is a good longer antenna for this model?
How do I program my new scanner
How do you program radio stations in to the scanner
Wow. You don't even show folks how to get the scan to keep going after it hits a stuck mike.

Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't all digital crap now day everyone is going digital now days I miss old days this future sux
i guess Im quite randomly asking but do anybody know a good site to stream new movies online?
@Samuel Chaim Ehh I watch on Flixportal. you can find it through google=) -harold
@Harold Daxton Thanks, I signed up and it seems like a nice service :D Appreciate it!!
@Samuel Chaim Glad I could help :)
Any inside if it doesn't power on anymore?

How do you block a channel 155:010 it's out all there is static loud static

yea tell me about it i cant even pick up my local police
What was the point of this video?
Didn't show anything!!
This video provided very little information about the scanner and was more geared as a hook for people to go to your web site...sheesh!...sad...

Disappointed, i have a new one and wanted to find channels, its been 30 years since I have used a scanner...

Yeah I live near a Airport, So I do pick up The tower and all.
@@mdbeatt I live near the ocean, and also pick up coast gaurd. Amateur radio is also good in the mornings or evenings for nets.

They should change the tile to "How to turn on the scanner" not how to program it. What a joke...
WOW... What a waste of 3:31 seconds of my life !
it's not open mic or static. That's digital
You're pushing buttons but I can't tell what you're doing. All I want to know is how to tune to aircraft frequencies.
No text tag...no sale
No AM band? Count me out. Uniden cheapens their products and then expects us to not notice.
It does have AM
I mean the AM broadcast band. It does NOT have the AM broadcast band on the 365 model.

Open mic??!! Feedback static!!??
