Remarkable device to look at. These are basically only for USA markets. Great to own one. Thanks for demo.

Thank you for the video ! My question is do I need a usb and cd to program if I buy it ? Or for some frequencies I might need those or can I just manually just program the frequencies ??

the one where it stopped on 442.800 is a repeater operating one of several digital voice modes. So you'd need a receiver that has the right radio to decode it.

      That was Yaesu System Fusion.

Are you able to hear both sides of the communication from the control dispatch and the response from the patrol car or officer?

Is there a way to easily scan the channels that common 2 way radios that your average person would use?

Does it have 8.33 khz steps to pick up airband frequency? Emergency services use digital these days . The only thing you'll get these days is probably weather alerts and a few local ham's not worth paying the money for this receiver. Scanners were good in the day not now.

Can you manually enter local frequencies, will they store in memory?

I've programmed mine, but it doesn't scan, just stays on the same channel.

A lot of agencies in my area are going encrypted, do you think that without the police radio traffic, this scanner would still be worth having?

Nothing in my stitch of the Mitten except NOAA weather, kinda bummer have a few different scanners that are now over complicated weather radios

Yes. Police is the most boring stuff to listen to. Time to stop being an NPC.

Depending on your location... I'm in South West lower Michigan and everything is digital now :/ only thing these are good for is weather band. Digital scanner going to cost minimum 300 bucks not realistic for Most of us :(

    • @f1948s

As long as they are on an analog frequency I agree you just program the frequency and save it. If your local is on digital this scanner will not work.
