Dr. Christy explains olfactory training and how to get your sense of smell back if it's been lost from COVID-19 infection. Link: jamanetwork.com/journals/jama...
In the name of Jesus, Father I ask that you restore the sense of smell and taste in all of these sufferers as we give thanks for your love, grace and mercy!
I'm not a believer and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm not affected by it, but my girlfriend is and while I don't have religious faith, I won't deny that asked God for help. If he exists, hopefully helps all this desperate people out. Thanks.
It has been 8 months for me with no smell. I am so sick and tired of it. If anyone sees this could you please pray for me. I am praying for you ❤️ thank you everyone for the support in these comments.
Dr Isibor natural herbal medicine have made me normal and stay happy, couldn't believe at first but it worked for me! I had Anosmia for 3 years I hated my self until I came across dr isibor on youtube who prepared pure natural herbal supplement and body cleanser for me which I took and applied for 2 weeks to my greatest surprised I was able to smell and taste again his herbs works perfectly well and no side effects!!
@@TheSickclick I'm sure I don't have covid and now, I just found out I have nose clogged and I lost my sense of taste because of the medicine I took. Probably.
For anyone who may need to see this, my 13 year old daughter has regained her sense of smell after 17 long months with zero smell whatsoever. Don't give up!
@@milahmeyamii believe it or not, she actually caught COVID again recently at a church camp and lost her taste for a couple of days and once her taste came back she was able to smell again. Initially back in January 2021 we tried everything. We saw two ENT doctors and nothing worked. I honestly believe it's just time. Nerves regenerate slowly for some people.
@@frantzfanon7621 omg really!! Thank God she’s healthy & healed!! I lost just my smell back in December & tried the oils but nothing yet. I can smell a whiff of very strong scents ONCE in a while but I’m not losing hope lol. Keep me in your prayers pleaseeee
@@milahmeyamii I definitely will! You at least have something to work with. Keep using the oils at least twice a day. My daughter would never stay consistent with her smell training. If she had, maybe it would have come back sooner. The fact that you can get a whiff sometimes is a very promising sign.
Me tooo😭 It's my 3rd day and there's no improvement! I'm just putting things in my mouth to stay alive. I can't taste or smell anything. Totally lost my appetite. Hope everyone's gonna be okay after this shit!! It's the worst feeling ever💔
@@kristalgarcia9387 i just ate because it’s unhealthy to not eat anything all day, so I suggest that you eat something even if it’s just something little to stay healthy!
Thank you Dr. Christy. I want to contribute my speedy recovery to you. I'm on Day 11 since my symptoms, and 6 days since I first lost my smell. I want to say at least 50% of it is back. Day by day it gets better. I can smell hints of my Cerave lotion today! and that was my benchmark to full recovery. Cerave is a "scentless" lotion, but there's a certain smell to it, so I knew when I could smell that, then I am close to being recovered.
I’m on day 6 of no smell/taste. I tested positive for covid so that’s great. It’s weird because I can taste the difference between salty, sour, and sweet foods but not the actual flavor
If you ask me, you know you can difference between sour, salty, and sweet no matter what because these are tested by our tongue and the actual flavours are by our nose and smell.
Everyone it’s okay you will get it back I was tripping when I couldn’t even smell myself if I smelled bad or not but around day 12 I started to smell my deodorant again and thank goodness for that lol just be patient it’ll come back trust! ✊🏾
I was also made to believe it can't be cured by my canadian doctors I had anosmia, until I can across Dr Isibor who helped me beat Anosmia with his herbal treatment and body cleanser in less than 2 weeks I got cured! I think you should also try using natural herbal medicine too it works perfectly well.
Life is so depressing without taste. I’ve been crying bc I can’t freakin taste anything while my whole family is always screaming about how amazing the food is!
It took me 5 months and 2 weeks to regain my sense of taste and smell. The first 3 months I couldn't smell or taste anything. After those 3 months, slowly, my smell and taste started to come back. You need to wait up to 6 months, from what I read, to be sure if it's chronic anosmia. This smell training helped me a lot. You don't really need essential oils, you can use coffee, parfums, lemons, perfume candles etc. I know it's hard, but you need to wait.
When I lost both senses of smell and tase I was so devastated that I could enjoy no meal, no perfume, nothing at all. I came here to the comment section a few days ago to alleviate my pain somehow. I waited...and I waited.... and I waited a bit more.... until today when I got my precious senses back. I am happier than ever! Be patient and you will get yours back too!!

Nicolas McGee yes i know babes, that was one of the scariest things for me , i have a toddler so i was worried she would get into something and i couldn’t smell what was happening. Make sure all fire alarms in your home is working they are gonna come in handy !
I'd say this is a good post. My sister-in-law gave me some little bottles of essential oils that she doesn't want. They're not the ones that you have in the video, they are: mint, lemon, orange, and eucalpytus. Sniffing on those the last few days seems to have helped. My sense of smell seems to be about 25% or so of what it was originally. When I spray an aerosol air-freshener in my bathroom, I get a good whiff and it lasts more than just a second or two, it's a huge improvement from when I started this therapy 2 days ago. When I'd do the air-freshener test on 7/19 (the 1st day I noticed my sense of smell being wiped out), I was getting nothing. I think you should start this smell-therapy ASAP when you notice that your sense of smell is gone, you don't want that ability to atrophy. I'll report back, it seems to be working.
After about a week of this smell therapy with my sister-in-law's essential oils, my smell is 100% back! I think it's important to start right away when you notice that your sense of smell is gone.
its been 3 days since i lost my sense of smell and taste. i don't have covid or something i just have fever and cold but my fever and cold is already gone but my senses haven't comeback im so scared rn and realized how important these senses in our body are. Edit: it's been 1 week and 2 days and my sense of smell was finally back i can now smell the scent when its close to my nose. to y'all who's suffering just wait and have faith in God. Patience is a Virtue.
Same here. I'm only 12yo and I lost the sense of smell after I slept to my teachers house for one night. I don't think that my math teacher she's sick with a flu. I feel like I'm dying 😭
Just to help calm someone, I lost both senses last Tuesday. Today is day 7 and I’m almost about 80 percent back to normal. My first day smelling or tasting anything was day 5. So just keep calm. Your senses will return.❤️
My smell is back after doing this smell therapy, so I think it's a winner! From the time I noticed my sense of smell is gone, it took me about a week to get it back.
I had been suffering from loss of smell and taste for the past 3 weeks after I got some nasal congestion and runny nose..nothing worked for me! I was so depressed! I missed smelling good in my own cologne! I tried all the possible ways of sniffing all the essentials oils , balms, soaps...i even tried steam inhalation once a day! I could only smell like 5 percent! But here I'm sharing it as a testimony guys! Im not a religious person! I always yell at my mom for telling me to pray ! But this made me go and cry my heart out in church! I got my smell back ..I could smell the holy church ambience! I've also lost mine and it took like 2 weeks before I can taste and smell again... The first day I feel like my eyes are sore and I kept having headaches, in the second day that's where my body heats up and it felt like my whole body is sore the headaches is present too and it feels like I've had a fever but on the fourth day is where I lost my sense of smell and taste, it was horrible and scary, worrying about if my senses are coming back or not... But I'm very glad it did came back in just 2 Weeks, hope everyone stays safe and if ever you lost yours, please take care of yourself, buy vitamin c and drink lemon or calamansi juices everyday, also go buy some delicious meals so that it can boost your appetite to eat... Praying for you all to get yours back and don't lose hope :)
Anosmia can be cured, I am a testimony I doubted at first then decided to give Dr iyaremoses on CZcams channel a try I'm completely cured using his herbal medications.
I was not able to smell or taste anything for 2 weeks after I was tested positive for covid. During those two weeks, I did steaming daily and also took Vitamin C and Zinc tablets which were really effective. During the third week, I was able to smell strong smelling substances like deo, nail polish, camphor, etc and I got my smell and taste back gradually. It's been a month now and both my senses have been restored back to normal. I can smell and taste 100% now 😊 . Wishing everybody a speedy recovery 😁
Happened to me, smell and taste aren't completely gone but weakened/muted heavily like if normal taste smell is 100% im at about 5%... its scary and Im worried that it wont come back and i wont enjoy the smell of coffee or fragrant salad dressing again :(
Lost my smell and taste a year and two months ago after Covid. Still don’t have them back, and now my sense of smell is so distorted that everything stinks. Foods I used to love smell nauseating to me now. I just bought VaporRub and clove oil this week and started putting it in my nostrils to try to mask the odors. I just randomly came across this video tonight and saw that maybe I accidentally wandered onto help. 🙏🏻 Thanks for the advice.
When I lost my sense of smell it happened suddenly unexpected and it's a very frightening experience and I quickly got on my knees prayed heavy and within about 15 minutes later my smell came back to me. This is my true testimony
I lost my sense of smell and taste today aswell but I came across your comment and got down on my knees and in less than 20mins the lord restored my senses.
I came back to this comment section to write that mine came back after 7 days. Reading other people's good news here made me feel so much better when I was distraught that it was gone, have faith good people, it will return!
month one: I've been using the mentioned essential oils two times a day for about a month now. I can't say if anything has drastically improved for me but i would say that the smell has reconnected my mind with the lost odours. I still can't smell properly if something is placed far away from me. I will return after a month now
I'm on day 2 too. It's really frustrating but I'm being positive. Since this may be the only time I can eat all the healthy food without complaining ;)
@@belovedbeauty Yes, the 1st thing i was able to faintly smell was peanut butter. I set up om my kitchen counter vicks, cloves, and 4 essential oils and the peanut butter. About 3 times a day I would go take nice whiffs of each. I was constantly smelling the vicks because i had it near my couch all the time. I used saline spray, took zinc, a multivitamin, used a humidifier, drank ginger & lemon with lime water all the time. I had bad nasal congestion but breathed fine. I now can smell and taste back to normal. Since day 13
I lost my sense of smell before and now it has returned. Last go round it took me 6 months to be fully restored. I am depressed and on the verge of tears most days from not being able to enjoy the smell and taste of things but I know this will pass. I do have some success with olfactory training when I use eucalyptus or lemon oils for about 5 minutes each day.
I’m on day 8 of symptoms. Day 5 without my sense of smell or taste. I cried all day yesterday because I miss the taste of chocolate and the smell of my favorite perfume. It sounds dumb but it really is making me super emotional. I can’t tell if my breath is bad, and I can’t even taste my toothpaste 😭
That’s how I feel. I know it seems silly but it’s depressed me. You don’t realize how much your smell and taste add meaning to your life until you lose it! It’s awful! Today is day 4 for me with no taste or smell. I LOATHE IT!!!!! Every day I wake up and can’t again I am just down the whole day.
Camie Grace I totally understand-I use aromatherapy to quell depression and I have lost my smell for 20 days. Do not be disheartened, I can tell you that my smell is gradually coming back. Just remember that is gradual and once you get your first whiff back, it may not be as strong as normal-but that is the first sign that you’re on your way back. Like you, I became very emotional so I know exactly how you feel (especially since it’s been 20 days). I wish you all the best and know that you will be good!
Tested positive for Covid a week after I had a fever, now on day 10. Little taste and smell. I'm doing the olfactory training. It's exciting to get even a little bit of smell. I'm looking forward to improvements. Edit : I tried saline nasal spray and was able to taste my very next meal
Imagine sprying perfume like u normally would...but u dont smell anything. So u get the other bottle and u still can't smell anything. And then u relize "fudge I might have corona" yup thats me
That was indeed very beneficial and informative. The problem is that I lost this sense completely and it came back in full throttle. Now for the last few days I am experiencing kind of a defect in my nose again. Smell of various substances like garlic, onions and some spices has become a real big problem. I can feel almost all the smells good or bad but the smell of the above mentioned things is unbearable especially after they are cooked. You may call it an ugly smell. Went, restored and now partial. Good smells have become bad smells. Any cure Doctor???
I have never had covid but I lost my sense of smell 3 months ago , at first it was both taste and smell , have gained taste back but no smell at all , it's really difficult for me , im so worried 😢 as I have never seen anyone with that problem, will definitely try these ingredients, Thank you
To everyone reading this please believe me YOUR SMELL AND TASTE WILL COME BACK TO 100%!! Some take longer than others and mine took two weeks of absolute hell but it will come back stay strong and just live life as normally as you can ❤️
Just here to offer advice and help some people out...I personally lost my sense of taste and smell 7 days ago and I am back to about 40% today. I have been steaming for 3 days now in the morning and at night and the steam consisted of orange peels, lemon peels, garlic, ginger, bay leaves, and peppermint. I also dropped about 2-3 drops of warm Jamaican black castor oil down both of my nostrils in the morning and at night. You can heat it up in the microwave for about 15 seconds. I also used Vick’s vapor rub about 2-3 times a day .I rub it around the outside my nostrils. Last but not least I prayed every night to God asking him to heal me. Hopefully these tips will help someone else! Just remember to be patient and be consistent. I am in no way a doctor I’m just sharing what helped me.
Where can I find the Jamaica oil? And do I have to peel a whole orange and lemon and how many garlic and ginger also how many bay leaves thanks and Good bless you for sharing
What were your symptoms? I can taste partially and if I take antihistamines I can very mildly smell. I got sick on Tuesday and woke up feeling better this morning. But still can hardly taste or smell. I’m fairly sure I’ll get it back in a few days, I’m praying, but it’s been very upsetting.
7 days finished hoping for a recovery,, 1 question: is healthy sign of recovery that we should get back the taste?? Can we expect that when taste is coming covid is going??

This is so depressing I can barely eat. I can only detect salty, spicy, and sweet things in food but I can't taste flavor. My smell is completely gone as well. I can't even smell strong stuff like perfume, air freshener, and soap. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Don't take smelling and tasting stuff for granted, please. I'm not really a religious person but God, please bring mine and people that are going through this smell and taste back. Edit 1: THIS IS NOT A JOKE I'm already starting to get it back I was able to smell the air freshener and deodorant A LITTLE BIT. I didn't expect it to come back this fast. It was only 2 days. I'M FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW. DON'T LOSE HOPE YOU'LL GET IT BACK SOON JUST HANG IT THERE Edit 2: I think I got my hopes up a little too much because sometimes I can smell the air freshener and sometimes I don't. I hope this stays the same tommorow. God, please let me recover my smell and taste and other people suffering from this. I pray for you guys. Edit 3: I didn't know this comment would blow up this much and since you guys have been requesting an update a lot, here it is. So I've fully recovered from covid by now obviously but I can tell you guys what happened after the edit. So a few weeks later my smell started getting distorted. I noticed that my fries tasted like metal but I didn't think anything of it. The next day, we had chicken tacos for dinner but while we were making the chicken, the chicken smelt ABSOLUTELY awful, it smelt like chemicals and burning metal and what hurted even worse was that my dad said "doesn't it smell good" and I had to lie. I wanted to cry because I realized that I had Parosmia. I've heard of it and I would've never thought I would get it. So the parosmia lasted for a few months and oranges/orange juice tasted like grass and the other tastes I couldn't even describe because they were so unusual and alien like. I tried to make my parosmia better by sniffing essential oils everyday and trying to get back my normal back, after a few months it was back to normal. I would NEVER wise that disorder on my worst enemy, ITS THE WORST. After the symptoms subsided, I got vaccinated as soon as it became available because I was done with this BS. And for all of you going through COVID/parosmia, it will get better.
Same thing that goes with me, I can taste sweet, salty, and spicy, but I can't feel the savory of the food. Probably it's because, I don't have any sense of smell. I tried smelling and tasting and there was no problem tasting any food at all, only the smell. I tried smelling things with strong odor such as perfume, soap, and cinnamon and could barely sense any of them. I pray that it would recover easily.
I haven’t lost my sense of smell due to Covid but more likely exposures as a Haz Mat/ Firefighter - but I trying this method to see if there an improvement in my condition as well
When I lost both my sense of smell and taste last April, I wasn't even panicked, I remained calm and waited and Believed that it would comeback, I drink a cup of hot water with ginger and lemon every morning and before going to bed, I eat a lot of vegetables and I was so motivated in getting it back, I don't look at the people around me who are eating deliciously and just mind about my business. And after doing that for 8 consecutive days, I got mine back again. To everyone still struggling, I know we are in a different situation but believe me It'll comeback in the right time and I feel your pain.

DON'T GIVE UP HOPE!!! I lost my sense of smell in mid May of 2021. It is currently December 4th. When I went to the kitchen to do dishes this morning and squirted soap onto the sponge I could smell it clear as day!!! I've smelled every spice in the pantry since and they all smell amazing! I just woke up one day and my smell was back, it can happen to you too.
Man I really hope so- it has been almost 5 months now, I can taste things somewhat minimally- most things taste okay but then random things (coca cola, coffee..) and things with wheat (??) taste very strange. Almost a burnt, oily, or soapy taste. But my sense of smell is completely shot more than less. I can’t smell brewing coffee, BO, etc etc.. so I’m all paranoid maybe my house smells grody af if I have a date over and I’m just not aware lol… have to laugh about it cause if not I’ll be depressed
I have lost my sense of smell since September, i forgot the date. I still have my sense of taste, but sometimes, i never fully enjoy what I'm eating. I can taste sweet, sour, bitter and salty though. The worse thing happened when i cooked rice, and suddenly forgot it (i cooked rice using stove not rice cooker) It got scorched, the top of the cooked rice was color brown, the entire kitchen was filled with smoke. I quickly turned off the stove. I was so scared then. But i never smelled anything. I should have turned it off earlier if i remembered it, and have smelled it before it happened. See the danger of absence of smell accompanied with forgetfulness...omg. It might have turned into a disaster. I just hope and pray it will come back soon. I did sniff steam. Will have to do it over and over and need to follow your advice doc.

I lost my sense of smell and taste and was sooo scared because I would read so many comments from people who hadn’t gotten it back in months or even years. But I went and bought some essential oils. I got a lemon, peppermint, and oregano bottle. Even when I couldn’t smell a thing I would take a whiff of each one every day. I SLOWLY started gaining my smell back (takes much patience). And I tell you what that oregano essential oil is very strong and was SOOO helpful. The lemon and peppermint were much softer scents than the oregano. I’ve gained most of my smell back, I wouldn’t say it’s at 100% but it’s better than nothing! I can now smell all three and I can taste most all foods. I’d say just keep going. If it just barely happened to you I would suggest getting right on it!
Thank you I’m trying this. Strangely I can smell food and many things but I can hardly smell fragrance / perfume anymore and that is one of my passions, very sad and disheartening. Hoping this therapy will help me. Thanks for sharing

It’s been a little over 6 months for me. I had no smell for about 4 months until I bought a smell training kit off Amazon and started using it twice a day. And now about 50% of things have a smell. And when I do smell these things it’s a nasty & nauseating smell that I’ve never smelled prior to COVID. And everything I can smell all smells the same. Weird thing is I still can’t smell foul odors at all. And things that I use to love to smell, smell horrible. At first the only thing I found comfort in eating was sweets because it tasted the most normal. Now I can’t stand eating sweets. The smell I now smell is so bad I would rather not smell at all. I just want to be back to normal. I took my smelling senses for granted. I’m feeling very anxious. I just hope and pray my smell will eventually return to normal.

Sarah Hammond i woke up one morning and I felt really tired and abnormally fatigued. Then the next day I got a really bad headache which was very odd because I never get headaches. And then that night I had a really bad fever and I had cold sweats while I was sleeping. Then on the third day my body was still really sore and I still had a headache but the fever wasn’t bad. And then by day four I only had a slight headache but everything else started to feel better. And probably after five days I felt totally normal again besides the loss of my smell and taste. If I hadn’t lost my sense of smell and taste it would have felt like a bad cold but losing my smell and taste is what made me get tested because that’s never happened to me. That was the scariest part
Been from Oct that I have lost smell and taste, sometimes things smell burnt or Smokey, particularly coffee but sadly getting used to it, but will try the above ☺️

Lost my sense of smell and taste 4 days ago.. really difficult and depressing. But I’m trying to keep my head up. You really don’t realize how important smelling and tasting is until it’s completely gone. I feel in the dark without taste or smell. There’s absolutely nothing there when I try to smell something or taste something.. it’s scary. But I know it will come back. I’ll try to update this post when I get it back. I know it’ll come back but it’s so hard In the meantime. It’s hard to eat. God made me realize how lucky I was to taste and smell and I won’t take it for granted again
Anybody lose these senses AFTER you started to feel better? It was like a light switch where my senses just turned off ... and it wasnt even during the time I was sickest. Update (Feb. 1st): For the most part my sense of smell and taste is back. I estimate that about 3 weeks to get them back. Not sure if they are 100% but it's close enough. Good luck everybody else! 💪😄✌
In the name of Jesus, Father I ask that you restore the sense of smell and taste in all of these sufferers as we give thanks for your love, grace and mercy!
Thanks,I actually prayed last night.
I cried begging Father to heal and restore people's smell and taste. And also myself,I miss smelling things
I'm not a believer and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm not affected by it, but my girlfriend is and while I don't have religious faith, I won't deny that asked God for help. If he exists, hopefully helps all this desperate people out.
Thanks.

So excited to be cured of anosmia/pcos with a herbal medicine from Dr iyaremoses on CZcams its works perfectly with no side effects

Tested positive for Covid a week after I had a fever, now on day 10. Little taste and smell. I'm doing the olfactory training. It's exciting to get even a little bit of smell. I'm looking forward to improvements.
Edit : I tried saline nasal spray and was able to taste my very next meal

Amen💘💘
I am going through the same.

I did a 48hr dry fast and I have been slowly regaining my sense of taste🙂!

DON'T LOSE HOPE YOU'LL GET IT BACK SOON JUST HANG IT THERE
Edit 2: I think I got my hopes up a little too much because sometimes I can smell the air freshener and sometimes I don't.
Try warm Castor oil boy !
I feel you. God bless
Same here. And already 2 days.. But it's weird even I can't taste or smelling I eat a lots... Lol
@@frankieangelo413 did you recover?

When I lost both my sense of smell and taste last April, I wasn't even panicked, I remained calm and waited and Believed that it would comeback, I drink a cup of hot water with ginger and lemon every morning and before going to bed, I eat a lot of vegetables and I was so motivated in getting it back, I don't look at the people around me who are eating deliciously and just mind about my business. And after doing that for 8 consecutive days, I got mine back again. To everyone still struggling, I know we are in a different situation but believe me It'll comeback in the right time and I feel your pain.
Thank you I’m going crazy almost burn my house down because I didn’t know my food was burning

Thank you 🙏. This has hit my husband and he is struggling with it. Your optimism and patience is an encouragement.
The lord has answered my prayer.
Praise God!
Fr!

Never realized how much smell incorporates into my life I'm literally lost without it
It’s been a little over 6 months for me. I just hope and pray my smell will eventually return to normal.

tanx man.i lost my smell and taste like 10 days ago with covid and still not came back.
what other symptoms did you have if you dont mind me asking
Guess I had COVID it took 3 weeks to get my smell back and took 3 weeks to get my taste back you will be okay
