Build a Sturdy Shoe Rack with No Cutting and Few Tools
Here's a simple project that takes 2 days and requires no cutting. All you need is a drill and some simple household tools.
These 6ft project boards were purchased at Lowes. I couldn't find an equivalent at The Home Depot. The metal parts were purchased at Ashby Lumber in Berkeley and The Home Depot.

Watch how I built these honeycomb shelves and how you can, too! This is the first video of a three-part series. I built six of these and it took me three full days in the wood shop plus more time for staining and installing. Lots of details and repetition, which is why I divided the video into three parts. Planer Cart with Casters and Shelf - How to Build
zhlédnutí 4,4KPřed 5 lety
Watch how I built a cart for my heavy Dewalt 12-inch Planer using 3/4" plywood and some 2x4's. The build took me one day in the shop and now I have a solution to a problem I had for months: dragging a heavy planer around on the floor. I was lucky to have extra 3/4" pre-finished Baltic Birch plywood on hand from a previous project, extra hinges and screws. I bought the 2x4's for about $5, and th...
Great video. How did it hold up over the years?
I find it inappropriate that she wasn’t wearing a bra while filming in the black tank top.
How has the Marine epoxy held up?
Very good job presented in an easy way
😊👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hi! I love this, But how do they keep the water from leaking out?
Hey Nancy, great tub! Who is your wood supplier?
That must be one beefy deck to hold that weight! I am curious if you are using chlorine, bromide, or salt to treat the water. My wife and I trekked in Vietnam and the trek ended with soaks in one person tubs at a bath house in the mountains. Very similar construction - although I don't know the type of wood. I want to build one of these myself. Thank you for the excellent inspiring video.
Wow! Excellent build.
Awesome 👌
Amazing work. Thanks for sharing your process.
Love this! It reminds me of when I'm doing a project. Making mistakes, figuring it out, and not being too hard on myself! I'm trying to make a drop leaf table with reclaimed 1 3/4" cherry and having trouble finding hinges for the leaf. I'm going over this video time and again to see if you did an angled cut on your leaf/tabletop to get a more attractive union with the leaf down so you are able to use a 90 degree hinge. Can you tell me what the thickness of your tabletop is and what degree of angle you used? I have only 1 shot at cutting if I don't want to waste $150 in beautiful reclaimed wood 🙃 Thanks in advance!
Great work, 👏
Nancy, you are a master. love watching this and being inspired by it. Im off to build a cold plunge tube. thanks
I want one.
I don’t think she understands how to router works
Why people build saunas without air intake and outle for air circulation. Beginners mistakes and as Finnish sauna professional i just cant understand why someone would build suffocading sauna 🤦♂️
Awesome build! You’ve got skills!
This is a super cool build, I really enjoyed you taking the time to go through the construction process in detail. This is an old video, so I’m not sure if this was ever resolved, but as others have mentioned, you need to reinforce your deck for the weight of the tub, as I’m assuming the deck wasn’t built with tub in mind. When framing a house you always double up and sometimes triple up joist where tubs are going to be placed due to the shear weight they place on the floor when they’re filled with water. Shouldn’t be too hard of a fix though if you haven’t already done so. Make sure your deck posts are within safe load capacities as well. Good luck!
I saw your video a year ago and am ready to build. Can I ask how it has held up over the years? Mostly concerned about leaking after time.
Could you please clarify if u use linseed oil only for exterior or interior too? Thank you!
Very grateful that you described and offered very helpful and useful tips along the way. Excellent craftsmanship as well. 🙏🏼
Now that’s badass! 👏🏻 I want one!!!
Great video!
Nancy - that is amazing. Well done.
Instructionals like yours are so well done that it makes me wish that damn CZcams had a "two thumbs up" option. Love how you creatively overcome practical limitations, too.
Thanks for sharing. This is very helpful and I plan to do a tabletop with Baltic birth plywood. Just wonder if the pre-stain condition and gel stain will work well with Baltic birch plywood and any finish product to recommend after stain. Thanks.
Some people got more money, Than horse sense
That is absolutely amazing! Congratulations on your skills!
Great idea
Good grief, what a fabulous job! Well done indeed.
Thanks so much

TALENT
A most excellent build, thanks for posting!
the author does like to from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. czcams.com/users/postUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ as another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us dont have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we wont be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.
Yo you’re amazing! Thanks for the inspiration!
Fantastic job Nancy
Which country in asia has the lowest diabetes?
I enjoyed watching you build, Thanks for sharing.
The first half of the czcams.com/users/postUgkx3ICSK6nSknaL_45CU2NmFSoXjarGMDiJ book is everything about wood: types, tools, finishes, setting up shop etc. The second half is all about doing projects for inside and outside of the home. The color pictures are helpful. After reading a dozen of these types of books, this is probably the best overall (layout, color photos, plans). Only detraction is that many of the projects use a table saw/router/planer, which are usually expensive and take up space, so the plans are less friendly to newcomers and the budget conscious. But I know I can use a drill, circular saw or a jigsaw to make the projects.
Thank you
For me, the ideas in czcams.com/users/postUgkxAfqpMLyFn37qcqUl0FAzqkkycQeXqrhP Plans were a starting point for building different sheds . Ryan gives ideas that allow an individual to draw nicest conclusions into the design and building of his or her own shed.
Beautiful work, do you happen to have the project to share? Congratulations for the video.
Great job! It is so peaceful in the Oakland Hills.
Nicely done!
