  • Watch how I built a cart for my heavy Dewalt 12-inch Planer using 3/4" plywood and some 2x4's. The build took me one day in the shop and now I have a solution to a problem I had for months: dragging a heavy planer around on the floor.
I was lucky to have extra 3/4" pre-finished Baltic Birch plywood on hand from a previous project, extra hinges and screws. I bought the 2x4's for about $5, and the casters for $10 each. If you have to buy the plywood, it will cost about $30-$50 for a 4'x8' sheet depending on quality. I think you'll need one sheet only.
    Tools I used:
    Circular Saw
    Table Saw
    Router
    Drills
    Straight edges, rulers, squares
    Sandpaper
    Jigsaw
    Miter Saw
    Clamps
I know that's a lot of tools that some of you don't have access to. You can probably do the same build using one of these saws, a circular saw, a drill and sandpaper.
It wasn't long ago that I only had these few tools and I could still do amazing things, just more slowly.
Thank you for watching my first build video on CZcams. I will be making more of these, so stay tuned!
