- Watch how I built these honeycomb shelves--and how you can, too!
This is the first video of a three-part series. I built six of these and it took me three full days in the wood shop plus more time for staining and installing. Lots of details and repetition, which is why I divided the video into three parts.
Please check out my blog post for more details:

1:07 the planer issues your having is because the DW-734 has a height adjustment locking bar. At 1:09 you can see locking bar is not down. This will allow the sloppy guides to rack and lift the rollers. Another good tip to avoid roller binding, is to take less shallow cuts, sharpen/replace blades, and/or wax the tables.
Given that this video is over a year old, I hope you got this figured out by now. But good content 👌
This is what's amazing about CZcams :) I have wanted to build some of these shelves in the future but I can watch and learn from you.
I have two observations.
1) The planer snipe can be minimized you can send multiple boards through at the same time
2) A stop block on the miter saw would also let you make repeatable cuts.
Great build and onto part 2!
Thank you. This video made my night. You are so real and so inspiring.
Great job and loved your after the fact narration, especially your candor!!!
