I really want asriel to just bring chara home for the festival, introduce them as his roomate or smthn, and have them be in the background with just a few linrs of dialogues as a neat reference. I don't disagree with the premise of this video (i.e. that crack theories are fun and have their place), but I feel like you've vastly misinterpreted people's problems with them. Yes there are obviously just going to be people who view any speculation whatsoever as a jump of the shark and stay in their little "wait for the next chapter" hidey hole, but generally speaking people who criticize these theories are not doing so because they don't like how far are they stray away from Deltarune, but because the actual theories themselves are borderline nonsense. The evidence that builds them up is just BAD, and that makes them BAD THEORIES, full stop. A theory is a hypothesis supported by evidence, and if you fail to build up the latter half of that definition to justify the former, you've made a bad theory. If you want to rebrand them as speculation for fanfiction then that's whatever, but claiming that you have made a theory comes with a certain level of expectation. A theory isn't just supposed to be about something that "could" happen, it's a convicted essay on why something WILL. Why it's the thing that makes the MOST sense. Beyond that, oftentimes even the more speculative theories just turn out poorly written. The idea that absolutely neither of the other Dreemurrs or any of Asriel's friends would have ever even _attempted_ to contact him after leaving for college is a _REALLY BIG PROBLEM_ with something like Asriel is Dead. It's not a minor nitpick, and pointing it out is not "crushing people's fun", it's a legitimate plot hole presented in the theory's premise, and if the theory actually was true, it would actively make Deltarune's story worse and more nonsensical. It would break its internal logic. That's not to say all crack theories are bad of course, for example, if you want to consider it one, I actually really like your Woody Theory. I doubt it's going to happen, but the theory does an excellent job at explaining why it WILL happen. There's not much tactical evidence so to speak, but the speculation itself is all very logical, and it paints a story that does not sacrifice Deltarune's integrity. The same cannot be said for most crack theories. With that in mind, as much as it can seem like the "Anti-Theory" community is out to crush people's fun, in reality they're just criticizing poorly thought out logic and speculation for the sake of improving the health of the overall theory community.

Yeah, I don’t get why exactly so many people think that Skies Forever Blue is foreshadowing Deltarune. Not everything Toby has ever made is connected to Deltarune. On the other hand though, The Baby is You clearly holds the answers to all of Deltarune’s mysteries, and nobody’s talking about it.

I find their dynamic (platonically OR romantically) soooo good and it has potential for fluff, angst, and everything in between. In my opinion, toby fox just wants you to think Kris IS the knight, however I just think that kris in the ending of chapter 2 misheard the queen's words when she talked about the fountains and completely ignored Ralsei's warning because of these two things 1) He doesn't want this fantasy he's living along with his friends to be over and I feel like that's also related with the vessel, [YOU] so maybe it's just a selfish desire that he did not let the vessel stop him from making a fountain in the end of chapter 2. 2) Im gonna stick a hand out and say that possibly, kris knows something that we dont hence why rips the vessel, [YOU] and made the fountains, he's trying to find out who the knight is but we're the ones foiling his plans or playing right into them

Japanese is not Toby's native language yes, but Toby isn't the one doing the majority of the work on the localizations. It's actually done in collaboration with native speakers and professional translators, so I think the japanese text is more reliable than you're letting on (the localization for undertale was documented in great detail in the third "Legends of Localization" book written by classic and professional translator Clyde Mandelin! He worked on the Mother 3 fan translation)
