I think we all are castiest. It is so internalised and conditioned. Only awareness and active challenging of our biases will help us dismantle this system. Just see how we treat labour, househelps (why arent they treated as employees?) and everyday caste slurs. Most of history is written from the point of view of oppressive castes. Indigenous people have been demonised. Why dont we have Dalit Literature in schools? Why dont we read more on Ambedhkar diverse works on caste except the constitution? Why are most legislatures, judiciary upper caste? Why are the richest upper caste? Why Swatch Bharat Abhyaan has max percentage of suppressed classes? Caste is in our brains. Reservation is representation. And this is the bare minimum we can give to an entire society that were opressed by our ancestors. This is reparation.
