Honoring Dr. Ruth J. Simmons | The Holdsworth Center's Champions of Hope
On May 2, Dr. Ruth J. Simmons became the first recipient of the Dr. Ruth J. Simmons Leadership in Public Education Award, created by The Holdsworth Center to honor her legacy as a groundbreaking leader, a powerful advocate for students and a committed supporter of public education.
The gala shined a spotlight on Texas education leaders like Simmons who are making a positive impact on students’ lives and futures, and raised support so that Holdsworth can grow its programs and reach more educators throughout Texas.
Simmons is Holdsworth’s founding board chair and has guided it from a small nonprofit to a statewide organization that’s impacted 1,500 leaders in 75 districts.

Please, I want to study masters in Educational Leadership and Management in Singapore. I studied Bachelor in Primary Education Studies in my home country. Please what are my chances of securing a great and permanent academic leadership position after my masters program? I will appreciate a response. Thank you.
He’s engaging in telling you what you want to hear. At no time other than the present have entrance standards been lowered to a degree they have for the U.S. military. My generation is no different: things were lowered for us. This downward slope needs to stop and the first step is to stop glorifying the military and political establishment such as McRaven. As William Arkin wrote: “We’ve had more than a generation of national security leaders who sadly and fraudulently have done little of consequence. And yet we (and others) embrace them, even the highly partisan formers who masquerade as “analysts”. We do so ignoring the empirical truth of what they have wrought: There is not one county in the Middle East that is safer today than it was 18 years ago. Indeed the world becomes ever more polarized and dangerous.” Start questioning the people in power over REAL issues instead of gushing over them.
Damn. Good stuff and (for me) timely. Thanks.
Thank you Ms.Harris and all the staff for making this the best school i have ever went to
Félicitation Dr Tracie BROWN pour votre travail remarquable ❤❤❤
MY SCHOOL
“Power of Moments” is awesome (as are all of Chip and Dan Heath’s books). What to do about the “quiet quitters”? Engagement. How do you get engagement (and the increased productivity that goes with the purpose of satisfying the customer)? Defining Moments. Memorable experiences that stand out in our memory and can Shape our lives. You can Create Defining Moments with Elevation, Pride, Insight and Connection. (EPIC). Defining Moments are made of Peaks (as opposed to Pits), Beginnings (Onboarding) and Endings (Transitions). Elevations. Defining Moments of Delight, Drama and Surprise. Beauty, Glamour, Wealth, Elegance, Opulence (positive memorable moments found at Weddings, Traditional Ceremonies, Parties, Award shows and Rock Concerts). MGM’s “That’s Entertainment I, II & III”
