You cant just connect to people just based on skin colour, even as an African I cant connect to people of a neighbouring tribe😅heck I cant even connect to my cousins who lead a totally different lifestyle back in the village. If you want to connect to people you live with them, learn their lifestyle and adopt their way of life and that can take years and at times generations. You are welcome to Africa and you can have a decent life here especially in urban areas where people don't care who you are but if your goal is to connect to the culture you have to identify the culture then live in it

Im an Australian and live in South Africa. When i arrived in 2006 I naively thought that all the African people would be like a big brotherhood but here the xenophobia is real and indigenous South Africans beat and murder other Africans all the time. Why would they give a damn about African-Americans? Begging is prevalent throughout SA as is scamming anyone who looks like an easy mark. As for charging foreigners more, while these returnees have lived their entire lives in a first world country, regardless of how poor or discriminated against they feel, the people who actually live in Africa generally earn way less, have less opportunity and deal with corrupt and dysfunctional governments every day. Charging you more happens because many locals cant even pay the reduced fee. You come in with US$$, you had a job and a house to sell, you're already better off than most people in Africa will ever be. This womans ignorance of her "motherland" and the realities of life for many Africans is appalling.

This video is simply stoopeed and ignorant.. The preference of lighter skin in east asia (korea, japan, china) has nothing to do with racism or colonialism. It has everything to do with classism... In the past history, poor and uneducated people worked outside in the fields and got darker while the rich and educated worked inside and maintained their natural fair skin. Unfortunately this way of thinking is ingrained their society. Also, there is no discrimination among their people in east asia. They pretty much all have the same tone of skin color.
