Imagine if we went to your country, looked down on you, called you names in public, mocked your children and culture, and sided with your former colonizer or recent one… and told you we disrespected you because of “the media”. we all know what would happen and it wouldn’t be pretty. Tribalism is a failed system. The civil rights movement worked because WE all were willing to work together for a common goal. We thought that by advocating for you all that you would return the favor. Africans are some of the smartest people ever so the excuse of not knowing is unacceptable when you can literally google. The same goes for us. We know that not every person on the continent is a warlord or starving. Those are ignorant tropes.

Hello young lady I like your podcast normally however your sense of African Americans particularly African American women. I believe she was right about African men they are not different than African American men! I did date a Nigerian man he acted like the young lady described. He was angry at the USA 🇺🇸 and media propaganda he and his family chose to believe! He was from a prominent family in Nigeria 🇳🇬 He wanted to come to America so his family paid the USA 🇺🇸 for a visa because in Nigeria he was a doctor . That was not the case in America. The USA 🇺🇸 said his education equals a nursing aide position! Wow I did feel bad for him. I think later he had trouble with his family falling out of power in Nigeria. He proceeded to express his anger with me emotionally not physically. I believe African men are angry with African American women because we are very independent. They don’t understand women not even their own women because they don’t listen they give orders! I have come to the conclusion that this is the innate character flaw in men macho issues. No matter what color creed or nationality, men tend to have male dominance concerns! Both parties would need to communicate things clearly can work out between African American women and African men!!!1🇿🇦🇺🇸

Ndagaire, I love your channel. Sadly, most people don't even know that over 12 MILLION Africans died during the Trans-Atlanic slave trade and the ones who survived, were forever displaced and stripped of their identies. That's even more tragic than the Jewish Holocaust. As you mentioned Africans make huge sacrifices to come to the States to enjoy the benefits here. As a Black American, we sacrifice a lot just to stay here. We live, bearing a great weight on our shoulders since birth, trying to survive in a Country that was built by us but not for us. We are permanently displaced without our a culture, tradition or language to ground or truly identify us. Anyone who travels to another country has an obligation to research and understand its history, culture(s), challenges and successes.

To generalize a WHOLE CONTINENT based on her own experience with a solitary man from 1 of 54 countries (with mostly different cultures) is crazy. I live in the American South and I've seen many cases where black people here don't get along with other African American Northerners because of CULTURAL differences. Within Africa, some Africans don't get along with other Africans, even in their own country because of tribalism so what makes you so special? I'm British but Southern African born, as far as black on black discrimination from either other Africans/tribes or diaspora groups like Jamaicans, it's never been direct. It's been a subtle vibe of "i don't want you near me" type looks or w.e. But it's the same with racism and other discriminations in the UK. A lot of it is toned down, i think because we are men. Perhaps subconciously, the mind thinks confrontations with men tend to escalate quickly into potentially deadly violence (I've had my fair share). Overall with discrimination, my experiences are far less confrontational than those i've heard from my female relatives or partner. It depends whose doing it too.

Get where our beloved American sister is coming from due to her experience
As an African myself kinda get where some Africans are coming from based on my own experience
To cut story short and not to play the blame games because there's faults on both sides
Its wrong to say Africans don't like Americans because Africans love Americans but Africans are not prefect
Likewise Africans can't judge all American to be the same because not all Americans are prefect.
Within the Africans we have sibling rivalries issues, tribalism issues, colourism issues, political issues, xenophobia issues and all the other issues
Likewise for our beloved American family and all the other families
One is African and one experience hate within own family but that don't mean that all Africans are hating
Same with our beloved American family some have issues within their own families too
That don't meaning we are all hating
We have to sort ourselves out 1st or love on ourselves before saying who loves who
Some are saying Africans love or don't love Black Americans
Black Americans love or don't love Africans
Meanwhile we are all loving our white families that inflicted the trauma of separation 🤨

In the day of the internet willful ignorance is no excuse. Example: before I went to Kenya the first time I did a deep dive into the history of Kenya. But not just Kenya a lot of African Americans, FBA,ADOS know about many things that happened in Africa.
Also most of us here in America can trace our family history to the 1600 and got the names of said people. The reason why most don’t know tribes, clan, ect is because they were taking children between the ages of 10-21 and sometimes younger. People who won’t remember or even too young to know said information.

I have traveled many places in the world, especially Africa, and I think there are issues on both sides. Most Black Americans have not traveled abroad particularly to the continent of Africa. They are subject to certain misconceptions such as “Not skin folk are kin folk.” There must be understanding and appreciation of African culture. On the other hand, many Africans, lucky enough to come to America, emigrate here to to get the “best” it has to offer. That may include believing negative stereotypes of Black Americans. I have been able to know many Africans from various countries and in turn have accepted their invitations to visit their home countries. I’ve even learned a little of some languages, which goes a long way.

I'm sorry for what she has experienced and i hope she doesn't take this as a picture of what all Africans from 54+ countries are like. I hope she comes out of this strong and doing great. Diaspora differences are honestly a mess due to perceptions and a few badly behaved people from both ends of the spectrum. This same thing has happened to native Africans living in America, i've heard of some who have been bullied and looked down on by SOME AAs. So basically, the sword cuts on both ends coz besides skin colour, we are all different people from different culutres with different mentalities and much more. I for one have seen bad stuff portrayed about AAs in the media and also heard from other people's experiences. However, i refuse to ever generalise AAs as terrible entittled people because i know, one badly behaved AA does not represent every AA person. As for the slavery comment, baby, Africans who stayed on the continet experienced slavery!!! You in America have just not been taught about it. You are taught about the slavery that happened in America. They have not taught you of the attricities that happened in many African countries. We had women and children raped, villages burnt down, people's limbs cut off and people burnt alive. People did work on plantations belonging to the British and many other colonial countries. So it's a whole misconception that Africans did not experience slavery. Our ancestors did juts that it happened right on our land.

😂😂😂 GIRL NOT YOU MADE A CZcams VIDEO ABOUT MY RANT. Lmaoo this is my personal experience over a period of time. My African baby daddy was just the STRAW THAT BROKE THE CAMELS BACK. If you really want to have a conversation about my PEROSNAL EXPERIENCES WITH AFRICANS THEN WE CAN DO JUST THAT. I’ve been dating Africans since I was 19. I have stories for days about how they pursue you and then be have weird motives. I can also tell you about my experiences with African women as well. It was a rant for crying out loud. And it was triggered by a Twitter thread I saw of AFRICANS calling Americans derogatory terms and then cosplaying the same culture that was being made fun of! So yea you have your insights and I have mine, but don’t try to invalidate MY EXPERIENCES just because you don’t AGREE.

With all respect and consideration, my Sistah, please don’t compare Black American men to African men in Baby “Mamaing” Black American women. The situations and factors are different. It sounds like you are attempting to justify or soften the offense of the African when you do this. You are a bystander. Thank you.

I say do on to others as they do on to you, African continent people do not like black folks from America, so black Americans do the exact same , just because they do not speak the language anymore does that make them less the people from the African continent? And just because Africans speak a different language does that make them less then American blackfolks?
I'll never understand why people from the African continent do not like their own kind.

And also they come up with slur names specifically made for black Americans. For example the word akata that's a derogatory term specifically aimed towards black Americans it is the equivalent of saying the n word. And they keep saying that black Americans don't have culture when everyone on this planet is imitating Hip Hop black American culture. I think the whole thing what's going on is very sad. Palm color people love to see blacks divided.

Your elders should have informed or educated you about the state of affairs in America. With a population of 1 billion people on the continent, it's crucial to stand up, fight, and prevent Western countries from taking over your resources. etc. It is truly how most Africans who come to the US think of Black Americans. We are not like Africans and are not African. We are a new breed of people.

    • @SharonAna-hl9ix
      @SharonAna-hl9ix Před 5 dny +1

'Fight and prevent western countries from taking your resources,' l wonder what you propose, given that the west (the country you reside in is a huge culprit) ensures that the systems it has put in place to enable the pillaging of resources and destabilising the economies of African countries, makes it extremely difficult for this to happen. Find out what they did to some of the African leaders who tried to fight these systems. You stating 'we are not like Africans and we are not African.' It is not Africans who started referring to Black Americans as African Americans. Go and take up that issue up with the people responsible for that and leave Africans the F alone!
