I also feel the same about knitting for olive yarn, i think Aussie yarn is just super soft. Will definitely try out that mohair! The quality of your new set up is 🤌 i also end up with extra 2 balls of yarn unless i buy the exact amount then somehow yarn chicken halfway through. Idk.

I'm really glad that you've found the knitting community so welcoming! I'm only a newbie knitter myself (1 year), and the projects you do inspire me! The fact that that is your first colourwork project is phenomenal!!!! Im taking a colourwork class at my yarn store before I dive into my first colourwork because yarn dominance/floats scare me. Ravelry is a very powerful database and having your stash in there is so useful. Highly recommend exploring the ways you can search patterns etc and cross-reference across patterns and your stash. The Queue is a great place to make note of potential yarn/pattern combos and then decide later what you want to do. Congrats on getting it all sorted!

It is super super gorgeous so wanted to say I feel ya on the colours. Are you off to Bendigo this year?

I watched this episode this morning and I thought this is my village, you are one of my humans. I'm a plus size knitter and find the current trend of holding multiple strands of yarn to be the most frustrating trend. The cost of purchasing enough yarn to make a garment in my size makes it not financially viable for me to make these garments (many of which I love the look of and would love to have in my wardrobe). When you need up to 1600m in 2 or 3 different yarns the $$$ stack up quickly.

I struggled with the Stick Season increases and started over twice before giving up. I’ve searched Ravelry and Instagram for anyone running into this problem and couldn’t find anything. I thought it was just me! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Thank you for the tip!

Thank you so much for going over your experience with the Stick Season sweater. I've been considering making it, but the arm/yolk construction gave me pause as a plus-sized girly who weight lifts. Your in-depth analysis has really helped me make my mind up; I think based on your experience I'll go a size up, as like you, I like a more cosy/oversized fit. Super helpful, thanks!

It is so sad that the brick-and-mortar store of Loom and Spindle has closed, but glad Andrea is still online, I was never able to make Saturdays to catch up. Maybe we need to find a cafe or somewhere to meet up with our knitting. So glad that they prompted you to do this podcast as I love listening to you. I managed to grab some Uma mohair, and other yarn before she closed.

I have to say it, (I’m an American living in Germany so I get the struggle) but the lang yarn is pronounced “ya-voll” and the colorway is pronounced “flee-der” ;) Sorry for the unsolicited German lesson, but I’ve seen so many vodcasters using this yarn and pronouncing it wrong, I just have to give it Justice 😂🥂 Love the cast, love the socks! Another great episode Ash. A great tip to get your tension even on your socks cast on is to cast on tightly over both needles held together - I use that trick in both my sock patterns and it works great! 😀 Thanks for the mention on the Canberra Socks - your version is so gorgeous in that blue yarn!! Amazing

I inherited a stash recently and it got me back into crochet in a big way. Im thrilled but most of it is cheap acrylics and i immediately gravitated towards bulky yarns to make plushies, so its all pretty useless for me lol A lot of the stash was partially used skeins and small balls of scrap, so ive mostly been winding them into cakes and trying to use it up where appropriate. Im making decent progress but theres just so many lol it felt a little silly to be gifted all this yarn and suddenly go out to buy chenilles and simply soft, but oh well. I made some keychains with it, and a sort of project bag to hold various colors nearby. Ill find some way to use it up, but i have a bad feeling that ill find myself wanting more before i actually get through it all lol!

Have you thought about doing a mid project block on your stick season sweater while you are waiting for your new needles? That should give you a good idea of what will happen when you do your finished object block.

You could block the jumper now to see what happens? I've had superwash add an extra 10cm or more!
