In regards to the Novice Cardigan - it’s the yoke design that’s causing you issues. From what I can see in the vid, your bust size and shoulder width ratio is small, so because it’s knit to a certain bust size, it means the yoke size around the shoulders is too large, meaning that when it’s worn open, it slips off the shoulders. It’s a common problem with circular yoke cardigans. You’re better off with set in sleeves or raglan cardigans rather than yoke cardigans. Yoke sweaters would be fine, as you’ve already discovered.
Thank you! I think you’re right!
This is such an amazing first year of knitting. I think it took me 3 years to even try a pullover!! I loved this so much 💜
Your small Sophie could totally be a hair bow/ribbon if you ever wear your hair up for work or out socially.
Thank you!! I’ve definitely bitten off more than I can chew sometimes! Haha
I’m really liking the idea of a hair bow, thank you!
Your bright pink slipover looks amazing! Definitely the favourite
Thank you so much! I want to make one in every colour but that would be ridiculous 😂
Your first year of knitting was so amazing and varied! Loved hearing about your projects and enjoyed your rating system!
Thank you much 💕 I feel so spoiled as a beginner knitter because every technique is new and engaging! Haha I’m so glad you love the 🛸🛸🛸
Ash your 2023 knits are many and beautiful. You have a great colour sense and I really love the finished knits. Clever girl!! My favourites are the pink sleeveless vest and the bright green cumulus jumper. Keep knitting and see you on the pod casts and Loom and Spindle 😊
Thank you Jane! You’re such an incredibly skilled knitter and I admire your own style so much so getting a lovely compliment like this means the world to me! You constantly inspire me to try colour work with your own amazing creations!
You could style your Sophie Scarf as a head accessory. That's what I do. Also, blocking those hats may help. Your Anker’s Summer Tee looks wonderful! 🧶 My Novice Cardigan falls off my shoulders as well. 🙁
Omg why didn’t I think to block the hats!! 🤦♀️ Thank you for your kind words and I’m sorry about your novice cardi as well 🥲
Hi Ash! For the stretching out issue, you could go down to 2mm needles and knit the rib and leg of the sock on that size, and then go up to 2.5mm for the heel/foot.
Great idea!
I’m knitting the Sophie scarf for my oldest, she put the middle on the front of her neck and wraps around both sides to the front and tie slightly to the side.
Thanks for the tip!
I’m always in love with your color choices! I tend to use more muted colors but you really inspire me to add more brights to my knitting. I loove your friday slipover and was actually knitting on my Friday slipover during this video! I really like the split hem you did and will probably do one on my version too. I think it makes it easier to wear over other shirts.
I love your colour choices too! I can never pull off muted tones but you always look so lovely in them! The split hem was the best idea!
Thank you! I really appreciate that. I just finished my Friday slipover and agree that the split hem is amazing!
love all your FOs. your comments on the sophie scarf cracked me up - i think i would find it hard to style as well. wondering with the maximoo + mohair beanie if you could sew in a lining with some jersey cotton so that the mohair wouldn't be next to your skin?
That’s a great idea! I didn’t even think about sewing a lining!
Hi Ash, could you turn that red scarf into a bow and wear it in your hair. Or around a pony tail. Could it be a headband, it looks long enough to tie around your head twice. Just a thought as I too live here in Melbourne Australia. For me, it’s too hot for wool around the neck. ❤
That’s a good idea! I hadn’t thought of turning it into a bow! I’ve been loving that trend lately! Thank you!
