I agree with Schalk Burger you can't guarantee a players safety in a game . Im not a fan of Matt Williams, i didnt like him when he coached Scotland or Ulster . Now he plies his trade as a pundit . He ridiculed England before they played Ireland in the 6 Nations and then had to eat his words after England won. Then he criticised Rassie on his bench split. If there are 2 rugby pundits that i am G@tvol of it is Williams and Kirwan. They both are bleating about the rules not because there is something wrong with the rules but because it does not suit there current style of play and talent pool. I will guarantee anyone that if the rugby boot was on the other foot they would be smiling from ear to ear. Kirwan was a superb wing, much feared and respected, it is such a pity to see him be so one eyed and subjective. Not a good look for the proud and highly respected All Black nation.

I think this could go either way, if WR rugby decide that a blood sport like Calcio Storico would bring more revenue to rugby they might stick with the current rules, if however they are forced through player litigation and have a desire to return to more traditional values, then rules will be changed. There's an obvious point to make about the Irish. They aren't likeable people. Their players are unlikeable (Sexton, O'Mahoney etc - these are arrogant prcks), their media pundits are unlikeable.
