Hi there and welcome to the channel, I appreciate you stopping by!
I am starting this channel to show the whole world my adventures and misadventures of all things car resto related.
I mainly focus on the bodywork sides of things - everything from fabrication to polishing, but not limiting myself to only those things.
I do have some interesting projects upcoming!
Always trying to achieve great and greater results from my home garage and on a budget.
Hopefully I can pass on a few tips and tricks to those who are also playing with cars at home and learn a thing or two myself from your guys and gals.
Cheers, KC - The Resto Shed

Thanks dude, I got an in and outer set, looks like the inner is a lot more work but I have to do it as both are gone, the set I got for the drivers was to long, the guy said it was cut to length, my ass it is, anyway, I got the passenger side a long time ago with the rear dimple in it, the new one from retro spares doesn't have it, I'm not happy with their stuff.
hi what length is the diff thanks
Great and informative well presented video. Thanks from the UK
Appreciated thank you, very enjoyable and informative.
Mate you are so down to Earth and relaxing to watch, you are an artist, Dave from Australia
Thanks for the kind words and for watching Dave from Australia.
Great job 👍
Great vid mate! Rust repair, Prep and paint is pretty daunting but watching your channel breaks down painting nicely. Thank you
Thanks for watching.
Those inner guards are killer but how are you going to attach the rubber splash shields?
Simple, there will be none. 😂
I do same work from home about to build my own similar booth setup. Your work looks awesome mate love how you actually show it all close up and not just take a picture.
Thanks for watching Mick. I’d like to get more filming done but it’s very hard to find the extra time/energy when you’re trying to get something done.
G'day, Some good information shared. Thankyou. Q. Have you got a link to the seam sealer you used on your boot lid. ✌️

@@TheRestoShed Thanks man ✌️
Looks bloody fantastic Kyle great work mate 👌 Attention to detail is awesome!! Hope you and the family are well, mate??
Thanks Scotty, we’re still chugging along. Hope you and your family are doing well too.
Well worth the wait for this video, I'm a Ford man but really appreciate good cars I even own European also. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, tips and techniques, you certainly put allot of time in to get the results you achieve. I don't think there is a video of yours I haven't watched and enjoyed. ☺
Thanks for the kind words and for watching Warren.
looking great !! was looking forward to a HQ video attention to detail especially areas you dont see all the time is the difference from a nice car & a great car... great work ... thank you
Thank you for watching.
Wow! Awesome, you need glass door trims! Top work!
Haha thank you, not sure about glass door trims!
Love the videos mate. Bloody top notch for a diy guy. I'm using the protec system for my vs also. Out of curiosity how long did you wait until you hung all of your panels after paint since it wasn't baked?
Thanks for watching. Weather permitting, I like to give them a day or two to bake, then I keep them stored for a week or two. There’s obviously a lot of factors though to how quickly the paint hardens.
Wholly shit . The inner guards , boot , doors and bonnet, are better than I have ever done ever. So good .
Thanks for watching.
That looks so good! Better than Factory, awesome work man, Didn't know you're down here. Cheers.
Thanks for watching.
Been waiting on another 🙏
Haha me too Rick, thanks for watching.
So good to see a vid from you mate. It’s come along very nicely! I love auto drags. That’s what I want for my hg wagon. And I think that sunburst colour would look sick on a hg. I’m thinking botanic mica for my build…. But that’s along way away lol. I have heaps of rust to cure first
Sunburst is a popular colour! I’m sure you’ll pick a good one whichever way you go Nathan.
Looks very nice, I love your attention to detail. The stuff you don't need to do, but it is what makes the car stand out from the others when it's done. Great Video.
Thanks mate, very true.
Hi mate what was your reason for removing the brace on the bonnet and did you also modify under the boot lid as it looked different
Clearance for a taller manifold/aircleaner. Bootlid isn’t modified.
Coming along well mate ,you could make your self a decent living doing resto work on theses old buses, you have some amazing skills bloke.
Haha thanks mate.
That looks wonderful mate! Black chassis wins everytime to me.
Thanks James.
Nice job
You going ok mate ? Havnt seen any progress for a while ?
@chrishall8142 yeah all good, I had some time away but getting stuck back into the good stuff now.
Hey just wondering if the Hq is all back together yet?
The next instalment in the series shouldn’t be too far away.
Packer not correctly adjusted or incorrect needle the gun will flutter or leak as you found out, it normally flutters due to sucking air around the packer, when your not spraying it can leak. Bugger.

Hi Mate, love you vids…..whats your experience with this set up……HQ tubbed to the rail only and 15×10, offset 0, 4.5” back space 275x50 tyre…..cars about to be tubbed to rail but doing my head in with rim size before purchasing them.

Thanks for watching Scotty. Doing well on my end, hope the same for you and your family mate
Hi mate great information I have ? How long can you leave it in metal after treatment befor you epoxy primer thanks michael
@michaeljohn8842 I usually try and get it prepped and in epoxy within the hour ideally, you can push it a little longer depending on the humidity/weather.
@michaeljohn8842 watch part 1 of the basic HQ body restoration series if you’ve not already. I go through the order of getting things ready/into epoxy primer.
When’s the hqs next video
@cmstylah7332 Good question! Shouldn’t be too far away now that I’m making steady progress on it again. I started the filming for the upcoming video way back in January. 😆
That has come up really good, is there anywhere to buy that rust oleum enamel online? I’m in WA and struggling to find it
Unsure sorry, you’ll have to do some googling
Like your work men, no head banging music drowning out what your saying👍no laughing after everything you say👍straight to the point 👍and you’re working out of a shed not a barn, shows your Aussie pride 🇦🇺
Great stuff guys! I’m sure someone would love to get hold of that van
Id love to see you fellas working on it. Rust and crust removed with new bushes and a bit of grease. Possible V8 swap too?
good to see another one getting repaired, did you buy that trailer from murray bridge haha
Mad Max,s van from Mad max1.
Lot of work to make a true replica! The XC headlights would be a hard find too.
I love you too xoxo
Hi guys keep it make up the fleet sedan Ute one tuner panel van station wagon and can I ask have you got a left hand rear wheel tub for a hz Ute keep up the videos
Now that’s an idea. I believe I would have one but Utes are usually fairly dented - not that it’s a big job to straighten them out again.
It would be fun to trade that right hand drive ute for a left hand drive elcamino from America! I got just the one too!
Im a new subscriber from Ohio in the USA! Found your channel and love will it run videos. Can't wait to binge watch some videos 👍
Hope you find something you like here! Always cool to see viewers from different parts of the world.
Be good to see it repaired up to registration,if not there will be plenty of van fans willing to snatch it off you for a full restore.
keep it
