Speedo should not change as most have the pickup on the front wheel. The other thing is, braking, doing a burnout, how does that compare. Perhaps find a deserted road, jump on the rear brake, let the ABS do it's thing and see how long it takes to stop. Then try it with the car tyre. I think it may surprise some people. Also how does it feel in the wet.

Good Morning 🌅, Yogi’s , That was a great idea to get to starter bolts, I am in the process of changing my belt and all my bearings and seals 🦭,😂 , and I need to change the belt pulls as well, I have just recently purchased this bike a 2003 Softail deuce, it is in not very good condition, the belt has been overtightened, and I’m replacing the bearing and sleeve, on the main shaft with a Jim’s upgrade, bearing kit, Have a big problem. I have to wait for replacement parts from HD. , I live in France and I’ve been told I’ve got to wait anywhere between 4 to 6 weeks, this is not good, France

I have used this same system from Ebay for over 5 years. The only problem I have encountered was the line leaking. Usually due to my installation errors. Did have one shock fail after about 6 months. They replaced no charge.

When I do mine, I"m going to crack the banjo bolt loose before I remove the caliper. And I'm going to use a syringe, and snap ring pliers.😉

Seems to get the tire to flex you just run a little less air. I don't run that much air in my Gladiator tires and that is a 5000 lb truck

Interesting write up. My bike is a 2011 Softail. I have just over 63K miles on my bike and about 500 miles on my first car tire, a Michelin 205/50R17, it was $117. The stock tire is 200/55R17. It is odd you mention 20K+ on the Commander II. I've run two sets of commander II. I got about 10K on the first rear tire then only 8K on the second one. The best mileage I've gotten so far is the Dunlop American elite, about 12K. I just pulled off a Commander III with 7K and it is well into the wear bars. I don't do rides with groups, I don't have time. I commute with my bike and average 300 miles a week, so I cam barely getting a year out of a rear tire and sometimes not that much. I don't burn out seldom go over 70-MPH. At 500+ miles my dark side tire feels like it is close to being broken in. If I get 20K on it that would be a 100% improvement. Also I found slow sharp turns to be more manageable with the dark side tire. It will be interesting to see how it goes. I change my own tires so no problem there and I'm running 40 psi. 🙂

Be very conservative when heating the pinlock - you dont want to melt silicone seal, nor you want to heat it too much so it elongates more than it should. Do not keep hairdryer on one spot for a long time. Gently hold the pinlock down and heat it all the way from one side to other just straighten it a bit, not completely flat - it will seal properly if you just straighten it a little. I had two spots on the bottom of my visor (Schubert C4), and pinlock itself wasnt all that saggy - it wasnt properly placed to follow the curve of the visor. When you ride and have a rest-stop, bring your helmet with you into shade. Do not leave it on your handlebars in sunlight.

Good video. I just changed my starter yesterday on my 94 heritage. Fortunately, I didnt have to remove my oil tank. Unbolted it and slid it up and forward. Gave me the room to pull the starter.

Yogi good video just wanted to say I just bought the new pump kit from Harley and it is way more than 375 bucks. Current price from dealer as of May 2024 was 511 bucks and change. Mine is still operating, 38k, but I figured it ain't gonna be any cheaper next year so I bit the bullet and bought it now so it won't be 700 bucks next year.
