I Darkside my GL1800 and run it fast and hard (redlining the shifts too). Started with 41 PSI, but found that was way too high. Now run 32-33 cold and I get a better ride and more even wear. 41 was wearing the center patch too much.

I know we all have opinions on brands and tires are not an exception. I am not fond of Yokohama but there are plenty of things I am not fond of. My review of them was they were not fit for a tire swing, with that said, the tires I have on my V rod are not loved by everyone. The funny part is what I did not like about them might make them good for a darkside tire.

I have known _one_ person that had put a CT on his bike and then went back to a motorcycle tire. But he was well to do and every 5,000 miles he took his Triumph Rocket III to the dealer for service and had new tires put on every time. Millionaire he was.

The easiest place to get that info is on a Facebook group called roll’n darkside. There used to be a conversion chart on a website but that website has since shutdown and that is gone now. That’s about the best resource I know of. Go to that page and search your bike in the search field and see what pops up

Eh, you're probably right but it also probably made the cornering behavior feel closer to the characteristics of an actual motorcycle tire due to the slight rounding that would cause. Still a great amount of miles to get out of a tire.

@@YogisCycleService I run studded winter tires on my van. As a matter of fact, I ran then all summer. I mostly rode my bike so I didn't bother swapping to summer tires. Bottom line, the studs help them last longer, but I know winter tires are not meant for warm weather and that may be a safety issue, or maybe it will actually be better. Idk

I guess you need to go back and watch his earlier video, where he shows via a camera why he doesn't feel it's "wrong". I'd ask why you're even watching a Darksider video if it wasn't for you explaining that you were watching to see one of us come around to the "right" side you're on. It must be terrible to try to find someone who burned through a full tire via darksiding and then switched back and scored the concept. I'm sure there are some. Go watch Ryan F9's video. He isn't a convert, but at least he ends with the lesson you SHOULD have learned, which is that it's not necessarily better or worse. Just more controversial and different . . . like even riding a motorcycle in the first place is.
