A common challenge when buying tires is understanding the types of tires and which will work best for you. The easiest way to group tires is to start with your vehicle type. After determining which tire types are possibilities for your vehicle, you can determine which type is best for you based on your driving needs.
How to Choose the Right Tires Like a Pro: You probably wouldn’t buy the first car, so why would you buy the first set of tires? Being picky can pay off when it's time to buy new tires. At Tires Plus, we’re here to help you understand the tire shopping process and choose the right tire at the right price. Follow along as we explain how to select the best tires for your vehicle, lifestyle, and budget!
Step 1: Figure out your tire size.: Tires come in different sizes, and it’s not as simple as small, medium, and large. Your tire size is a number from 13 to 22. That number tells you the wheel diameter in inches. There are a few different ways you can find out your tire size.
Step 2: Compare tire types. Choose the one that’s best for you.
There are a lot of different types of tires on the market. This is the part of tire shopping that can overwhelm some shoppers. Don’t let it! Check out this quick rundown of the various types available for most cars, trucks, minivans, crossovers, and SUVs. Every type has pros and cons, so it’s all about choosing the tire that works best for your lifestyle, environment, and priorities.
Step 3: Determine your tire budget. Once you know the tire size and type you want, consider your budget for buying tires. Just like everything else, there is a wide range of prices. So what’s the appropriate amount to spend? There's no right or wrong answer to this question. It depends on the driver and the car! Our best advice is to remember that tires are an investment and an invaluable one at that. Your tires are the only part of your car that comes into contact with the road. Without quality tires, your car can't drive safely or smoothly.

Low profile tires give better handling in corners because the tire doesn't deform much. It's then possible to attack corners with higher speed compare to high profile.
It's not just about the deformity. Americans please. School is good. It's about the center of gravity it creates for the vehicle.
Yea right

As much as I dislike EVs, it’s worth mentioning that they have their own special grade of tire because their greater weight and instant torque cause them to run through tires about 20-30% quicker than the average car

Thanks for the suggestion.
May I add few points I think where missing?
All season tires have really poor performance under rain/ in wet conditions.
Winter tires have several subcategories missing: Nordic (suitable for really cold weather), studded (best ice grip), European (for milder winter), friction or studless (suitable for driving on compacted snow but not optimal for icy roads). 😊
So rename them desert tires?
In Canada "All-season" tires have been renamed (don't know if it official, or just colloquial) "3-season" tires
I use all-season tires, including a cold winter(-10...-20, deep snow, ice) and it's ok if you are not racing. On my 4WD Jeep Grand Cherokee
Winter + summer tire set and you've got the best traction/efficiency combo you can have all the time
And why not put All Sessions Tyres?
@@nikosmst3746 they are only good for low speeds and general use. they are not great for highway speeds and/or water. :(
@@MihaiOprean 95% of us are on the highways with all seasons!
whabbout michelin cross climate2's ?
My dad used to have all season tires. But their performance in snow was so bad that he now uses a seperate set of winter and summer tires again. All season tires are worse than summer tires during warm weather and also worse than winter tires during cold weather. I'd only use them if I want to save as much money as possible.
Your Explanation is great.
There is so much consideration while choosing an CAR TIRE, thanks for explanation ❤❤❤
Round and black with the 'M&S' symbol will do ya normal, get winters for the winter if you get real winters.
Great presentation and very informative
Thanks for sharing... very imformative...
A little somethin on Highway tires (road tires) they are also skinnier for the fuel side of things, my mother had her tires swapped out from factory tires to road tires cause she was goin on a 4 thousand mile road trip which in some cases saved fuel
Thank you for your idea
Good informative video.
Thanks for providing, Good Information.
Always welcome
great video
Very good information..
Good, I understand alot about tyres
Highway and Touring tires are my go-to, especially on the northeast. NY. I rarely drive when it is below freezing, if I do it is just a short distance. Otherwise, public transit is good in a pinch when there is heavy snowfall.
Easy to understood
After seeing this video now you can buy tires thanks bro.
I love all terrian high profiles mountain tires 😁👍❤
Useful information
Thanks
I like your way of xplanation and videos bro
*Thanks sir i thought for this video ,you did 😃😄*

205/55 R16 low / MPV
205/60 R17 SUV / MPV
I think this the best ratio for comfort & sports
Thanks for information. What about all weather tires
I think I might choose touring tires.
Not all all season tires can't handle harder winters. I live in erie pa and my Goodyear assurance max life tires all year. We get one of the harder winters and they go through everything. If you need a great tire, I highly recommend them.
Problem now is they are starting to discontinue or obsolete high profile tires. 17" rims are becoming the new minimal rim size. Goodyear and Cooper stopped making 235/75R16 in all seasons tire. That's the size I needed for my truck.
We all like the low pro look but there is definitely something to be said for a high sidewall and ride. I have 235/55/18 and I have always been interested to see how the 17 inch rims ride on the same car.
Toyo Open Country tires will work for you
I can't find winter tires anymore for my 1998 Ford Ranger with 15" rims. But....quite a few to choose from on 16" rims so I'll switch to those larger rims.
@@paulmaxwell8851 I had a similar issue with a old Honda I had. I don't know your exact tire size but try sumitomo I had really good luck with there tires, especially for the price.
Nice Video, with good explanation, you forgot racing slick tires.
Good call!
I'm pretty sure that anyone who needs racing slicks already know that they need them.
I like low profile tires it looks really good👌
It does!
We really need to know about what kind of tyres is acceptable for what kind of vehicle, what kind of purpose, and what kind of weather can accept that.
Super super super thanks sir thanks

I like how the suv Almost go Up in the barrier 1:42
kindly create a video about the Formular 1 tires and sports bike tires
It depends how you drive. If you drive on the conditions it is fine.I have driven in a snow storm with summer tires on far over 100 km in a small Fiat 500 from 1961 and arrived safely to my target.
How did you drive ? And what was the snow like fresh soft or hard and compact ? These details make a big difference
id love a fiat.cant afford tires never mind a fiat..im glad you made it safely😊
Put some good all-terrain tires on a car and it's the best. They make certain ones in low profile sizes.
are 235/45 18 low enough in profile?
7:18 "if you have a need for speed" is in my top 10 corniest attempts of a clever saying of all time
If my oem tire size is 235/50r17 can I use a 235/55r17
Can you please do this for motorcycle tires too please😁?
Its always summer in my country all seasons all the way 😅
Good
Thanks
5:47 Indians after seeing Scorpio in a video other than on a Indian CZcams channel: Proud af. 😂
How much price
You didn't explain RFT run flat tyre
All season tires are good but if it’s like really cold out dead of winter the tires won’t perform well they only work with light dusting of snow and temperatures not too cold out. If you are going to rock all season all winter please adjust your driving habits big time.
This is why I don’t go to school :(
👌👌👌
it’s not the tire size, it’s the rim size. later the description is correct.
@ 12:40 "Their dark colors give you more traction through whatever mud, snow, and ice you have to conquer". Excuse me, WHAT?
Why you're not saying about RUN FLAT Tyres.....
I hate the robot voice.
"Effect" v. "affect," Mr. Robovoice.
So what is the problem
@@terabaap-gr4oc Wrong word.
It's 'How Different Types of tires AFFECT...' Otherwise, good basic information. One thing: if your winter tire doesn't have the 'mountain snowflake' symbol on the sidewall it is NOT a winter tire. Never be fooled by 'M&S' on the tire; it's a marketing term and means absolutely nothing.
Also it's not tire it is tyre
Tubeless tyre with tube inside, & nipple seal - making it tubeless.
DiY tyre ↑
Except for emergency, when already use spare tyre, always plug hole on tyre - from inside.
All terain, all season tyre, with thread that don't have pointy 90 deg patern for better handling & low noise.
Goodyear is the best tire you can buy
Why do tires develop dry rot and still have plenty thread left and do not give but about half what is advertised the mileage rating advertised they say you should get? I bought the scorpion Pirelli tires that were on the car and rotate tires regularly and drive speed limits and yet I only am getting around 35,000 miles before dry rot is occurring. They are not cheap but I think they were advertised to get almost twice the road amount of road life but no where near what I am getting and they need replacing already? I am an average driver and still have under 100,000 miles on my Lincoln MXX. Why does this happen? This is now the third set I will now need to replace and I get alignments when called for and check tire pressure regularly. I live in Texas. The tires otherwise have been great but WHY am I not getting the range they advertise? Thanks.
im no expert at all but id buy different tires.Pirelli no longer italian tire yet made in italy.i think china bout out company.many northern italian companies forced to sell out..my brother lives an works in that area.thats how i know..be careful.i need tires for an 02 honda crv an im so confussed an tires expensive.i drive maybe 50 miles a month if that
bakit sa F1 race isang klase lang ng gulong ang ginagamit yung makinis. pero ulanin arawin sa race track kahit me tubig ok lang din naman. e katutulin pa nun.
How tyres should be removed?
You should have include all-weather tire in this video
Same as all season
@@ShadowBannedagain it depends how bad the winter is.
@@ShadowBannedagain depends on which type of winter, if it's a soft one with not a big of layer of snow, it's actually fine
I work at a tire shop and I disagree with some of this........
Imagine using all season tires
This post was made by car not wrapped around a pole or pancaked in a ditch or something gang
Don't spend money on all season tires!!! In summer use summer tires and in winter use winter tires. Yes low profile is not comfortable but is mu more safe.
Just a shame someone doesn't know the difference between 'effect' and 'affect'.
No explanation of the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol?
All season tires dont really work in most of Canada
Sure they do. Until winter arrives! Then everyone is in the ditch or wrapped around a power pole. It's sad how many drivers don't get it.
sports car: miata :D
Which tyres are used in India 🤔
Ceat, jk,Apollo etc...
Or buy tires designed for your country's roads. You don't do anything with winter tires designed for southern roads when you live in the north and so on.
