    Wolfgang, 4:50 this recommendation is wrong. If you buy that quad port ethernet card you're showing, it will not fit in the device. You can only fit PCIe card in the Low-Profile/Slim dimensions in this product. I know you mentioned it being low profile in passing while you're talking about inside the device and more specifically the PCIe slot. The low-profile spec is for physical dimensions of the card not the slot. This is more about physical dimensions of the computer, it is not about the slot at all. However, you can still fit an intel quad board in but it's a different card and it's not the one you're showing. The one that fits is Intel EXPI9404PTL PRO/1000 PT Quad.

    I don't understand, if you're going to use KVM anyway, aren't you just adding unneeded overhead using docker. An optimised qemu/KVM sounds infinitely better. Unless you're too lazy. Edit: so it's not a docker container its a docker script to setup a qemu/kvm vm

    Surprise, surprise, I have a physical dopamine addiction! All the stuff present on the phone to monitor, manage, and block access to social simply isn't enough. It's comparable to asking a guy addicted to gambling to try not to use his own pocket roulette that just needs a 2-step process to access. The only limit that can work is a physical one. So I bought a dumbphone with just WhatsApp.

      Nevermind I finally solved it. I had the 127.0.0.1 set for the forward hostname / IP because I thought for some reason i had to. I changed it to the actual IP and now it works. for some reason mine didn't work with the hostname but not a big deal and now no more warning. Have you thought about constructing a home server utilizing 12G SATA/SAS drives (such as LSI 3008 or 9300 HBA) for enhanced throughput and expandable storage? For example: you could begin with 2-3 drives and gradually incorporate 2 more every few years, while also maintaining a modern aesthetic and a compact footprint at home.

And will the hardware be able to transcode 4k h.265 and 4k BRAW footage to proxies, allbeit with a low speed, for example if I leave it overnight?

    I am going to try and get this running using a stack in a Portainer instance on my ProxMox Server. Should at least be educational. I have a few Windows VMs already running but this looks interesting. It may or may not be more efficient especially if I get it working with one of the tiny windows version you mention. Cheers good content. I may come back and post if I got it working.

    • @SolarBuck
      @SolarBuck Před dnem

      I only spent about 45 minutes but was unsuccessful but really didn't try too hard. I need to read up on deploying stacks in Portainer. I am sure I could spin up a linux VM in proxmox then install docker then run the command and get that working but was hoping it would work easily with Portainer. If I spin up a Linux VM to get this working I might as well just spin up a windows VM. Was interesting to watch I may take another stab at it if I have some free time.

    • @SolarBuck
      @SolarBuck Před dnem

      As I keep digging I fear this may not work. KVM is working on my proxmox server but I have a Debian VM running portainer and it does not have access to KVM. I am not sure how to work around this. Sorry to SPAM your comments. I was super excited as I thought I could get this to work in Portainer and it may work but I am still learning my way around and usually know just enough to get myself into trouble. Cheers on the video! I was trying to use this in a slightly different way. I kinda think of it as the movie inception.

    I use Gnome 3. There is little choice because within Linux ecosystem Gnome is the only (to my best knowledge) software where I can switch between three or more keyboard layouts sanely. Everything else is just unusable. So it is either Gnome 3 on Linux or Mac OS X. However, Gnome 3 is horrid in all other aspects. 1. It is slow. If I hit a key I prefer to see a reaction now, not 0.3-0.5 seconds later. The only way to combat this problem is to disable all sorts of visual effects which are enabled by default. There are specific thresholds (0.1 seconds) after which a normal human mind can spot slowness of response and feel uncomfortable. When people say "Gnome is heavy" they probably say it because they feel how slow its reaction is. 2. Yes, Gnome 3 is a dumbed-down Gnome 2 with a bit more tinsel. There were *lots* of usability features in Gnome 2, all gone now. But that was not enough. Recently, there is a trend to get rid of basics like "Compose key". This is a degeneracy, not an improvement. 3. No, Gnome 3 is not for disabled users. It is a DE which makes normal users be disabled. Here is an example. Let's say I opened a browser and now I want to download a file. A dialogue pops up to let me save the file in the place where I want it to be saved. Now... Let's say the file name I want to use depends on something that was on the page and I would like to just move that dialogue away for a moment to see what's on the page. Can I? In Gnome 3 I cannot. If I move the dialogue, it moves together with the parent window. I feel like my hands were chopped off. Just how insane are the people who decided this atrocity is a good thing? Are they even humans? 4. Yes, culturally, Gnome is for people who use tablets. People who use tables are not the same people who can, for example, efficiently use keyboard. So Gnome 3 is OK for shopping online but horrible for almost everything else.

    The blog post seems to be incorrect or I am not understanding how this is supposed to work. Setting up a local IP (like in your blog post example) for the Nginx Proxy Manager's DuckDNS entry seems to be incorrect. I had to use my routers public IP for the DuckDNS entry and I had to also set up the port forwardings for the TCP ports 80 / 443 (http / https) in my router so that they are forwarded to the LXC container in which my Docker / Nginx Proxy Manager container runs in. Now I need to find out how to update the public IP from the my LXC container but that should be covered in the installation tutorials that can be found on DuckDNS's page. Man YT's spam filter is brutal. I had to post this multiple times and it always gets deleted. URL names seem to be a big no no and even local IPs seem to be not allowed. YT is such a -itshow. This is like the 7th time I am trying to post this comment. Why does YT hate me so much. Why is it not allowing me to add a potentially valuable comment? It always is gone after like 1 minute or so. Super annoying.

What would an 1800’s person say if you told them you looked into a device that looks exactly like and definitionally is a Black Mirror scrying device, and that you not only can talk to a person on all parts of Terra Firma, but you can also see them and send and receive images from them. You are not only a true Cyborg. But also a Sorcerer. Really you’re not ? Then how do you know the magical emanations from earth to see where north is ? Oh your Black Mirror, how do you know t what Day, week, hour, month, and season exactly ? Black mirror. I’m no Christian I left the Cult culture years ago, when I was Seven because I was capable of critical thinking and learning I saw how Christians will gladly help a pedophile into their church with such kindness while a dedicated Atheist gets ignored to the point of Rudeness regardless of Character and true humanity. Why ? Same reason the guy that didn’t believe in God created the Catholic Church. Oh I know the lie they tell.. Emperor Constantine converted. Oh really then why has all of them including King James (go read up on his time as King .. he too refused at the end to say “I’m a Christian” just like his 22nd great grandson King Charles refused to say “I represent Christianity and the Church of Britain while freely stating “I’m a Zionist” in the same speech and news broadcast and internet interview. Why because people at the Top those with personal family knowledge know it’s all a lie having stolen the miracles of Apollonius, the Death of Yahoshua, and the Birth of a totally amazing imagination. 2 Parts truth to 1 part lie that is how they do it. It’s like them all refusing to admit that their own history talks of Revival and how a Carnival Hypnotist a scammer learned he could hypnotize a church full of people and “The Pastor Voice” was Born.. Hypnotism … unreal totally see the truth is that yes they use vocal hypnosis, Yes on a room full of Christians, but it wasn’t some down and out Carnie. Look at the dates. It was an agencies predecessor that told the Vatican about that particular plan and what do you know… they said by all means let do it but keep most of it in the US, it was a church military operation. Why ? On the failed hope people would see the scam and go back to good old fashioned Catholicism and if not well then that group is easily suggestive and already prepared for the 3rd World War Lie. The World isn’t at War, the Rich are Exterminating the poor Citizens. Why ? Because they’re murderous bastards, the Crusades that was supposed to jazz people up about the slaughter to come. No I mean that’s what they thought back then but the slaughter ? It’s here 2.9 Billion dead worldwide since 2018. Don’t watch or listen to me. Count them yourself I did took three weeks and though not 100% accurate it sure as hell is closer than anything anyone will tell you and it’s an Understatement. Meaning more are dead especially with the giant Antenna at Bovae Island just north of Antarctica being primed in Project Leviathan. Yes they will give 100 bull sheet lies but it’s an antenna creating the flooding worldwide. Go to TicTok or X to see just how terrible the flooding actually is and it’s just Humans greedy slimy murderous worthless humans with a Quintillionaire bankers hand up their ass.

    I enjoy how detailed you are with your videos. But i have a question. lets say you wanted to use Nginx to add local SSL to you Homelab applications like say Proxmox or even NextCloud? How would one go about doing so. Im new to Nginx and am yet to get it to work flawless if at all for me. I use Cloudflared for all my external SSL. But id also like to have the same features but locally.

    Can't wait for the build and setup video. The power consumption on this beast is brilliant! Please also mention the cost of the build.
