Axel, owner of a Citroën Axel.
Wants to document the true last Citroën, which is however unknown and almost not documented because it has been quickly hated and forgotten.
I do what I can with what I have to create documentation about it : like doing some videos of my car in the smallest details, or some videos on the few Axels that I've encountered. And all of this in French and subtitled in English.
Because that no one gets interested (or almost) in the Axel, there necesserily need someone to make the "dirty job"! But I really enjoy it!

Gosh, when I see that: with warm water on the ice-cold car! You don't do that. You can be happy that the window glasses didn't crack from the unhealthy sudden tension!!! First, sweep away the snow and remove the ice on the windows with a scraper or de-icer spray from a car dealer. To open the doors better, grease the door rubbers with grease or tallow at the beginning of the cold season, which is also available in car stores. Then they can be opened more easily with a slight pull. Cold choke engines are basically started as follows: Turn on the ignition, pull the choke all the way, do not move the accelerator pedal, start. This can take some time because the fuel pump first has to pump fuel from the tank into the carburettor. When the engine is running, push the choke in until the engine runs smoothly at a slightly higher speed. Important for Citroen's air-cooled boxer engines: From 10 degrees Celsius downwards, the radiator guard must be installed for normal driving in town and on country roads. It must then be removed for long motorway journeys. But only before you get on the highway and not before... I've always driven air-cooled Citroen Boxer engines (in the GS and GSA, Visa 2-cylinder, 2 CV and Ami 6 as well as Oltcit Club - the original for the Axel) for many decades and that's how it always worked. A look at the (hopefully available) operating instructions or a suitable technology book before using a historical old car, can also help, if you know how it works and how it should be used. The old cars are different from today's modern cars in that way, that they require more attention and technical understanding from the driver!!! I wish you many happy journeys with the Citroen Axel
Ces accélérations ont été très fortes et le moteur s'est enflammé pour lui, il a dû passer du temps à l'eau lubrifiante bien avant de faire quelque chose de violent.
Bonjour ! C'est la dernière véritable voiture Citroën jamais fabriquée, après cet énorme contrat conclu entre la Roumanie et la France d'un milliard de dollars à la fin des années 70, le constructeur automobile Citroën a été racheté par PSA et les choses ont mal tourné. Toutes les voitures Axel ont été fabriquées en Roumanie dans cette toute nouvelle usine construite ..bien sûr fabriqué majoritairement avec des pièces de fabrication française importées. Avec ma mauvaise opinion personnelle, Citroën était un vrai constructeur automobile, mais si avancé qu'il ne pouvait pas être très bien vendu, le marché n'était pas "prêt" pour une vision automobile aussi avancée et (bien sûr) une simplicité d'utilisation. À tel point que Citroën, aujourd'hui encore, ne se vend pas bien et va disparaître dans la prochaine décennie.

@@citroenaxel1988 vous aviez quel âge quand ce véhicule a été commercialisé ? Croyez moi ce fut un bide total , et ceux qui l’ont acquise s’en sont mordu les doigts . Fiabilité désastreuse . Consommation énorme . Bref un véhicule totalement archaïque a sa sortie , nettement inférieur au visa et Ax , les journalistes auto ...et les consommateurs se demandaient pourquoi Citroen avait commercialisé ce modèle en France . Mon père patron d’une petite pme en avait possédé une de société , tout come un pick up polski les deux furent une catastrophe ...il est revenu aux basiques R4 fourgonnette bien plus solides et fiables !
@@christophecarare3944 Je connais parfaitement son histoire, en toute modestie (et Dieu sait qu'il s'agit d'une voiture modeste). Elle est arrivée sur le marché avec une conception de 10 ans au sein d'une gamme Citroën déjà bien complète et fabriquée par des communistes dans des conditions douteuses, pas facile pour elle de sortir la tête hors de l'eau. Le son du 4 à plat GS 🤩👍👍 et ce tableau de bord🤩. Les vraies Citroën. Voici 1 semaine que j'ai acheté une BX 1360 mais mon prochain "challenge" sera de trouver une Axel. Et j'imagine qu'elles sont très très rares 😮
Oui ! Magnifique son quand il tourne rond, j'aime beaucoup. J'apprécie également le son du XU 1360 à chaîne, très original également ! Les Axel sont rares de base, et en bon état encore plus. Après il ne faut pas hésiter à y mettre des frais, même si elles ne valent rien ^^

That was (and still is) my car. I was learning how to use the choke, it can sometimes take some practice and learnage :)

Acest e Citroën Axel, 100% Citroën designed, but 100% Romanian built in Craiova. Oltcit/Axel is the same indeed (same factory).

À mon avis, Axel est l'une des pires voitures que Citroën ait jamais fabriquées.Surtout le modele avec le moteur 650cc qui n'a que 34cv - on peut se demander comment il pourrait transporter 4 passagers à l'intérieur et avec leurs bagages en plus...
Citroën n'a pas fabriqué l'Axel... Citroën l'a conçue à 100 %, mais l'a faite fabriquer par Oltcit en République Socialiste de Roumanie à 100 %, dans des conditions très douteuses, avec une conception hyper intéressante techniquement (voiture d'ingénieur) malheureusement arrivée sur le marché en France 10 ans après sa conception (qui aurait dû sortir du 1974). Un peu de réflexion là-dessus ne fait pas de mal. Le 652 cc n'a jamais été monté sur l'Axel, qui eut le droit au 1129 et au 1299 de la GS/A, le 652 n'était destiné qu'aux versions bas de gamme (Oltcit Spécial) pour le marché Oltcit roumain. Intéressez vous à sa conception, vous seriez surpris en bien. Sincères salutations.

One of the spark plugs appears to be malfunctioning. The engine only runs in 3 of the 4 cylinders.
Hey, do you think so ? I've never had any ignitions problems until now. But on this video, I hade a huge exhaust leak that might sound that I was on 3/4 cylinders.

Bounjour, l'Oltcit était le véritable programme Citroën, Citroën n'a jamais été originale, juste achetée (absorbée) par PSA et.. Ça y est, c'est fini ! ... et que grâce à la Roumanie et à son dévouement à la construction de cette voiture
