One thing I don't get is if they're concerned about the pistonic acceleartion, why increase cone area, why not use more smaller drivers? The larger the driver the higher the stress in the material meaning more materail is needed to create enough rigidity. Sort of like steel beams across a span, the larger the span the larger the beam.

While this may look like a through explanation to people that already understand REW, it leaves more questions than answers when is all said and done. I found it interesting that nobody in his class stopped him to answer a question about the process or the hookups or even which tabs to select when doing this. This is so much more complicated when you’re not familiar with the lingo and even computers. I’ll bet at least someone in that room wanted to know for example where you stand when performing these tone sweeps. Are there any other cords/connections needed? I’m sure the guy giving the tutorial tried his best but I also don’t think he understood what beginner means. A beginner needs to really start from the beginning.

Todd, As I have said before it is a shame that your work on this channel goes so unnoticed. The quality of your filming, editing, audio and script are, to me, top shelf. The content that you provide is direct, to the point with little fluff. True professional. If my income ever allows me to attempt upgrades to my pitiful 7.2.4/1080p room these Pixelgen cables may or may not be helpful. But, won't know until I try them. Also, I think I have asked before, do you use VUDU/Fandango for any of your movies. My other streaming services provide me with Atmos audio, but VUDU never has. Is it just me or is everyone else getting the short end of the stick too? Over the last several years I've asked the for the reason why I am not getting Atmos and they give the same garbage answer of something like: you gotta have the right gear. I have the YIO 2 Remote brand new in the box. I havent set it up because of the lack of support/Software. Now they rebranded and have a Kickstarter for the Remote 3 version. What going to happen with YIO Remote 2?? Are they going to release software for it or is it going to be a paper weight if I dont use Home Asssistant?

If you are watching something on plex with an nvidia shield will it show the poster on the remote screen?

I liked the review, but the elephant in the room is cost, cost, cost... the hardware cost is substantial, adding your own movies to the content isn't free, and if you add a movie, you need to rebuild... Your example is more like hiring a driver to take you everywhere, sure it removes the need to drive, but it also is very expensive. Don't get me wrong, Kaleidoscope is a great product, and fills a need for people with high-end home theaters, but it's hard to ask people to pay more for a media server then they paid for their TV. In the past, people who purchased this product were the same ones buying a $25,000 Sony front projector and a high end screen.

I own an Harmony Elite with hub that still works (just doesn't work with Mi Box S and Mi Box S 2nd gen) but I would like to tryout Remote 3. What is making me (at least at the moment) wondering if I should go with Remote 3, is 3 things: -The extremely long time I saw people waiting for the 2. OK, pandemic, etc but even so, it took a really long time. -There are almost 0 videos regarding the remote (2), like the setup, the way it works, etc -Seeing the extremely small number of videos, including here on AV Nirvana, gives the impression that Home Assistant is a must-have in order for the Remote to work properly. - Finally but extremely important, how about if I buy it and it doesn't work with my devices? I have a Samsung TV (already old, UE55KS9000T), ISP (Vodafone) box (works by BT), a satellite box (Octagon SF8008 4K), a Micromega IA-400, Cambridge Audio Sonata NP30 (yes, old and junk), a Sony blu-ray player (BDP-S570; also old), and probably will get a Hue led strip (or one of their led lamps) since I have a Hue hub for several years. Getting a remote that i don't know if it will work with my devices without the hassle of having to start a Home Assistant project (that i don't have a clue how it works, and I don't need), or having to be always searching on the internet if, with considerably luck, someone has a solution, it's not very good.

So as I hear him comment, we found a chip that can make the remote more future proofed, we added features people really wanted…I would not be happy being a Remote 2 backer who is hearing this when I haven’t even gotten my remote yet. I would understand if the Remote 2 had been in the wild for a year or two, people were using it and this was now a new version but to release a new version before the old one even ships???? Basically this new product announcement video actually caused me to reconsider my initial plan to take advantage of my “preorder” that I made months and months ago and jump on the kickstarter tomorrow. Now I don’t trust that this company will support their products for the long haul. Instead I think I’ll just wait for my Haptique RS90x and forget about Unfolded Circle, despite how cool the product looks.

I have followed the Unfolded Circle journey from day one from down here in New Zealand and will be joining the Kickstarter and hopefully getting my hands on the Remote 3 at the beginning of our Summer.
