(Did have to adjust a tiny bit at the end due to some region differences, but for there.) Thomas, buddy, wherever you are, we finally got it.

One of my favorite game endings ever. It's sweet. I always hoped Adol and Lillia ended up together once Adol's adventures were over. And the tiny dancing during the credits! Ugh! The cuteness is off the charts! Especially the little bow. ❤️💧

If your sword is disabled because of the red bubble, you can blow the whistle and you should be able to use your sword again.

People did notice the floating continent of Ys. Unfortunately, they were labeled conspiracy theorists and banned from social media.

Did anyone else manage to go through almost their entire childhood without being able to progress past Laconia because of there being nothing to suggest that there might be secret trapdoors that can be opened by crouching and "striking" background pillars? I must have been around 12 (5 years after I got this game) when I first stumbled on this completely by accident, presumably while attacking a scorpion. 25 years later I am yet to experience anything that comes close to that unimaginably exciting moment.

YES!! Their going with nes style for the remake. The look and feel of gameplay on the nes is the most enjoyable out of ALL the consoles. Including ps5. Newly made nes games like Prison City on the Switch sell immediately. It would be cool if companies made much more nes looking and style games more often! = )

This walkthrough is great. I like your videos. And for those who want to play the game. Don’t forget that the trick with the thunder staff don’t work if you play on emulator. So by the time you get the money for the sword and the shields, you should be lvl 100 and every monsters will be much more easier to kill. Goddamn it’s still a grinding game 🤣

Ive never liked the early Ys games. I played through 7 on the PSP and loved it though. Ive been a fan of UCBVG for years now (its crazy how fast youtube time moves btw). So even though i wasnt super excited about Ys i happily watched anyway. However, while sitting through the last episode i noticed the game hadnt aged as bad as i thought. By the time the episode was ending i decided i need to play the earlier games again. Good reminder for me. When something is 'bad' a lot of times its just me being wrong.

I was wondering what you were supposed to do for levels near the end; I hadn't figured out that last grind spot, and what level I did reach (might've been 60 or even just 59) took an ETERNITY. I learned a lot, as always.

Now to wait for Ys III: Wanderers From Ys...

I think I played a little Ys 1 but got killed on that two demon head boss. My first Ys was also Ys 3 for the SNES. And now I have Ys VII: Lacrimosa of Dana, and people speed run it not realizing that VIII-X would not exist without these old Turbografx games. ^_^
