    Small correction on 35:53, the Hollow Knight is canonically non-binary and uses they/them and it/its pronouns. Same goes for the player character.

    When doing the Pipes Prefab, make sure you don't accidentally give the individual "Top Pipe" and "Bottom Pipe" the MoveScript and make sure its for the full prefab instead. I accidentally gave both the full prefab and the individual pipes the move script, and it caused my pipes to move way faster than my hitboxes, so I never was able to trigger the score increase since my player could never reach the hitbox. It took me literally forever to figure it out, so I wanted to bring it up just in case someone else makes the same mistake LOL!

      ALSO! Use. the. Debug. Log! It helped me realize that the player wasn't hitting the hitbox at all, vs there being an issue with the hitbox itself. <3 I used the line " Debug.Log("Trigger Hit"); " in the " if (collision.gameObject.layer == 3) " section so that it would tell me in the console when the player hit the hitbox!

    Nah that puzzle was easy. It took me about 5 seconds to figure out what the idea was. The method I use for solving puzzles is working backwards, thinking about what I need in parts and trying to find out ways to get there. It wasn't hard to deduce that in order to get to the end, you need to get Magnus to the right side of the screen. Well how do get him over there? You leave him in the empty space and come pick him up after you turn the magnet back on. I feel like if anyone was willing to spend even just a couple minutes on it, they'd eventually realize the solution.

    Firewatch is a fantastic experience. Pacing, storytelling and mystery all on point. Definitely a game writers and designers should take a close look at when developing their own titles!

    29:50 ok how did you go from our bird and screen being in that tiny space in the bottom left to looking at game view here and seeing the bird properly on the big canvas? My bird is still that little tiny box in the bottom left. EDIT: Ok when I run the game it is fine, but it makes no sense that my bird and pipes are on a 'tiny' little screen in the bottom left of the canvas and yet it works and shows up properly with the giant text 0 way far away from where the game objects are. My mind cannot wrap around any logic on this. 35:38 Can't you just use a 'using' statement of some sort for PipeMiddleScript to be able to see/use LogicScript? Seems like that would be easier than that whole tag=component process.

    Also. I LIKE how the worlds in sims 3 seems like an open word in the game. U really CAN get that open world feeling when playing the Sims 3 even if it isn't it STILL FEELS like it is. Something Sims 4 won't DO. Sims 3 just has good things about it and I ENJOY playing it so much. Would also NOT mind trying to get and play Sims 2 at some point. But I heard how hard it is to get anymore. Thats to bad. I also heard it has some problems but being it IS an OLDER game than Sims 3 is, I understand that too. Ty for posting.     I like the sims trates system and hoe it was made. Its has some cool Trates. Different from how it works in sims 4. I have fun useing the trates system when I play the sims 3. I think its more unique and adds in for some good game play in thr Sims 3. 🤩👍✌

    while watching and when you brought up the topic of automatic saving and why it just could not fit with the theme of it i immediately thought of in-game manual saving type of function. and it turns out i was correct although it has been a year and there are now hundreds of games with this function. so yeah not to sure what to make of my thought

    Regarding binding of isaac, that game will NEVER be played without a browser open no matter what mcmillan does. Because of the item interactions. They are impossible to add to the game as decriptions without entire fucking pages of descriptions.

    I disagree on Dead Cells. For myself, I created a fresh save when that game hit 1.0 and I beat the final boss 1 try using only the upgrades I got on that run. The escalation in difficulty in that game is such that you 1) need knowledge of the game, not just mechanical skill and 2) the game keeps getting harder if you want the good stuff. Eventually, you can't even unlock new stuff without cranking the difficulty. Eventually, the game makes you turn up the heat. This results in a sawtooth difficulty curve that is brutal in the way it forces you to come to terms with just how much stronger everything is now. The game is much harder by the end than it is in the beginning, even if you have all the upgrades. Hades has a similar system with the heat gauge, though I think that it's not as interesting because it restricts the choices you can make. Dead Cells is willing to give you all the same toys and an even meaner world to use them on. I also kinda disagree with calling games like Isaac and Gungeon "pure roguelikes" because they do have unlocks. The items that you unlock throughout your time playing aren't just different options, they're often better than your other choices. Once you unlock Platinum Bullets or Godhead, the game is just easier. This is kinda balanced out by the chaff items you also unlock, but the max character power goes up with every strong item, which is most of them. Busted characters are another thing. You can unlock characters like the Gunslinger or Azazel which are just a lot more powerful, making the game even easier once you've proved your mastery, which is the opposite of how that should work. I love all three games I talked about btw (minus Hades). I just think that the split is a lot greyer than the labels make it seem (which is why I never liked the term "roguelite" as someone who plays way too many of these)

    If anyone can still help me, I ran into a little problem. At the end, when I want to increase the score everything should work, but it gives me the error: "No cloud ID was found by the Analytics SDK. This means Analytics events will not be sent" I can still run the code though...

    Damn people hated the epilogue? I found it fitting for the whole tone set after act 3. Talion is alone, fighting a constant battle against a increasingly powerful foe until the end after exhausting himself to the point of falling to the darkness

    Why this doesn't feel like a problem to me is because I feel like I always know my best hand in Balatro. If I've been leveling up the Flush, I know that playing a flush will net me the maximum amount of chips. All I would really gain is knowing a few seconds early if it will be enough to beat the blind. The Isaac comparison would only make sense if the jokers didn't have descriptions, and you were asked to remember what they did yourself.

    “No, not you.” Jokes aside, having played Andromeda since watching this I think it’s interesting to look at the differences in Ryder’s characterisation compared to Shepard’s. Shepard always struck me as being essentially two characters in one: Paragon Shepard and Renegade Shepard are two distinct personalities, which is why it can feel jarring to try and mix the two. They did a similar thing with Hawke in Dragon Age 2, with their “diplomatic”, “humorous” and “aggressive” personality options basically being three different versions of the character. With Ryder, however, although they still have clearly marked “tone” options in dialogue (emotional, logical, casual, professional), those options feel less like distinct personalities and more like complementary aspects of a single character. Your own version of Ryder might favour one or two of those over the others, but they are all still present in the character’s personality regardless of the options you choose; it’s why (in my opinion) Ryder feels like a more well-rounded and human character than Shepard or Hawke, who could both sometimes come across as one-note characters. It gives the player more freedom to pick and choose different tonal options based on the situation (having a Ryder who is, say, casual and laid-back with their friends but professional when they need to be, or logical in most situations but more emotional when the stakes are high) rather than doggedly pursuing one type of choice to the exclusion of all others. Andromeda certainly has its flaws, but this is one area where I think it has made improvements over the original trilogy.

    They better not add that. Are you serious? This is not even close to the issue with Binding of Isaaac. People wanting to calculate and work on spreadsheets also are not a problem, either. What a terrible change that would be.

    This is some great advice that I want to use for the games that I'm working on. I've been thinking about games with base builder elements, so when you mentioned Stardew Valley I immediately thought of how it lets you build and automate and how Factorio is kind of similar. The latest game I've been hooked on is Potionomics. It's just so satisfying to watch the numbers go up. I keep on getting new and better equipment and ingredients so I can make better potions to complete harder expeditions and make more money so I can buy even better stuff and so on. Plus it's fun to keep unlocking new cards for the card battle sections.
