My husband and I used to do historical reenactments of the fur trade era and was on our way to a festival. He was dressed up in beaded buckskins, moccasins, I even think he had a knife on his belt, and went into a local store on the way. No one can agree on the number of Gods and Goddesses in Norse and Anglo-Saxon culture, how many of them are separate entities, or how many are the same deity under a different name, the deities of Ancient Egypt that are referred to often by pagans and scholars only scratch the surface, so 14 pages won't cover that. I don't really have a problem with these colouring books. They are fun... Will you learn anything from them? Probably not, but there is magic in colour - you have the charkas and they have their own colours. Crystal magic is heavily colour based. Candle magic is based on colour. There are witches who practice art magic and colour is important to that. The elements each have their own colour that is associated with them. All of the runes have colours associated with them. Creating art and doing craft projects means that you can make things for your altar without having to buy expensive statues. What's created might not be considered fine art, but it's a start. People can bind their own books for their BOS/Grimoires and these have more meaning to them than a store bought notebook. Without 'art' the achievements of the Greeks, Romans and Egyptians would have been lost to time. It's just another way of practicing.

Of course, I’m sure our ancestors did hold it as a message or omen. I’ve seen it a few times growing up, and was always awed by it. I live in Texas, USA now so it’s too far south to see it. I found witchcraft on CZcams during the pandemic and realized I’ve always been a witch. Of course, Wicca-esque information was what I came across first, all these young influencers. I’ve never been really good with keeping a books of shadows, but I regularly keep a “Book of Mirrors” for tarot readings and other divination reflections. I also keep private thoughts about my spiritual development and interactions with various deities and spirits. I do love crafting and art and am developing as an art witch so I do love decorating with stickers, coloring book images, envelopes, etc… but it’s more like for either helping me remember new information or as part of a spell with my intention being imbued as I create with materials I’ve charged. I do like watching those videos because sometimes they inspire me for spells or study pages. You’ve been practicing since before it “was cool”. I do feel that some witchy content is more about the aesthetic rather than actual spell craft. It must be frustrating at times for you to see skills you’ve worked in and built when it was a less socially acceptable way of life be paraded as arts projects rather than the serious magical arts they are. Thanks for the tips on drying flowers and herbs. Your hand fasting sounds absolutely wonderful! Idk if you’ve ever considered a video covering the basics, but I’d love to see that. My nephew and his husband had a hand fasting a couple of years ago on Halloween. It was awesome (although most family members are uncomfortable with the LGBT community and witchcraft here in the south.
