We put to much emphasis on stats when talking about the GOAT. It hard to compare using these metrics because each player played in different eras and under different circumstances. The GOAT isn’t about stats but more about skills. It’s about put each player in the same situation all things equal who would have excelled. If we use stats then Wilt or Kareem have to be in the GOAT conversation but they are not so stats can’t quantify who’s the GOAT. I’ve had the pleasure of watching Jordan, Bryant, and James and it indisputable that Jordan is the GOAT followed by Bryant a close second. James have been a great player but have too many weaknesses to be the GOAT. He requires more to succeed. James needs certain type of players to succeed. Jordan and Kobe only need an additional all star caliber player and they will win championships. In addition, LeBron have played with more great players in a softer league and have less rings that tells you all you need to know.

Stats can mean 🐐 status but in a great many instances it doesn't. By comparison I'll use football. The all time leading WR is Rice. 🐐? Of course. All Time leading passer: Tom Brady. 🐐? Absolutely. Emmitt Smith Sr is the all time leading rusher and a recruiting classmate of mine (1987). Would he be considered a better RB than Barry Sanders? No! Jim Brown? Oh hell no! Brown is the 🐐 RB and that won't change. Kareem was the all time leading scorer for years. Was he universally considered 🐐? No. Matter of fact, 3-5 yrs into his NBA journey, MJ was already being hailed as greatest ever. So this argument shouldn't be made. When Bird, Magic, Barkley (HoFers) say dude is the greatest basketball player ever, believe them. Trait for trait, skill for skill you cannot say Bron is better despite being immensely great. Jordan himself said that he played the game for the love of it, if it were about stats, he would've kept playing through 1993 and 1998 retirements. There is no debate! I've seen them both play in their prime and even played golf with MJ a few times. MJ is the GOAT and it's not even close! MJ was way more competitive like he was on the golf course, lol and he had no weaknesses in his game & his technique was flawless! MJ was like a circus show because from city to city, everybody wanted to see him play. MJ was so exciting to watch and also was a great defensive player. Lebron is more player friendly and always looking for where the cameras are. He's more about seeking attention than invoking that killer instinct. Also, Lebron is not that exciting to watch, although he can be dominant in games. Now, let's talk about his longevity: The only reason he broke the career scoring record is because he only plays about 65 - 70 games during the regular season due to load management which have allowed his body to play way more years than Jordan. If Jordan had played the same amout of years as Lebron, he would own the career scoring record. Let's not forget that Lebron has lost the same amount of finals that MJ has won. We can't take that fact out of the equation. One point that no one ever talks about is who is the player that everyone is being compared to and even Lebron wanted to be like??? It was...MJ! End of the debate!!! To me personally, MJ was more direct & authentic and Lebron seems like a people pleaser & very phony! And, let's not even mention the brand of Jordan. It's an all time iconic brand that has change the culture of the world.
